When Gunn visits the doctor guy in 5x01 Conviction, he mentions that Gunn spoke "directly to the Conduit himself" while in the white room. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't "The Conduit" what Angel spoke to back in Birthday (3x11)? We know on that occasion Angel used The Conduit to communicate with the Powers That Be. And since the white room is part of W&H, I'm assuming this Conduit Gunn spoke to is connected to the Senior Partners.

So, if both sides have one of these "conduits", does that suggest that they're the exact opposites of eachother? In other words, are the Senior Partners the Evil Powers That Be?

If that's the case, then what the whole show really comes down to is a war between the PTB and the senior partners in which Angel and the gang are pawns. And if that's true, it may explain why the senior partners gave W&H LA to Angel, (another attempt to bring him around to their side). They keep saying how Angel is supposed to be a major player in the Apocalypse. Maybe it's whichever side he's on that's destined to win.

Just a thought.

The last part would seem pretty obvious, but about the first ... how about the Powers that Be ARE the Senior Partners ... would make sense, as Angel's all about there's no white and black, just gray.

hmmm thats interesting. it makes sense and yeah the last part, they proabaly are trying to bring him over to their side

Seniors Partners are the Powers that Be? Interesting. Jasmine was a rogue PTB, and Wolfram and Hart rewarded AI when they defeated her. Your theory would make a lot of sense, as they would really be rewarding them for stopping a rogue Partner. Interestante....

I think it will come out this season about the 'evilness' of W&H, I found it hard to believe that Angel hasnt asked loads of questions, which Im sure us, the fans would like answered...

either they are the same, or they are just entities with power.. in the end, there's no good and evil in this series, i think that was pretty much covered in buffy with the whole power thing, The First, Jasmine, The Senior Partners, The Powers That Be, they are just "beings" fighting for power thus keeping a balance...

although, if they pull a "senior partner=power that be" with a decent explanaiton, it'd be much better

The PTB the Senior Partners eh? Good theory and if they explaned it properly then it could really turn this season upside-down, plus it would make Angel have to make certain decisions he hasn't had to make.

This is a very nice theory and I've never actually thought about it before... If this is true, then I wonder which side will give Angel his Shanshu. If Angel ends Armageddon on the side of evil, will he get his Shanshu?

Simple: we don't.

But I don't think Joss would dare to have Spike shanshu. Some people (*cough*magui*cough*ana8) might not like that and take drastic actions against his person to avoid this.

The shanshu is for Angel.
Period.
However, that thing that was mentioned about the SP being PtB seems VERY likely.

If the SP are the PTB, does that mean Cordelia is working for the Senior Partners? Why did W&H have Vocah kill the PTB's oracles in To Shanshu in LA? If the PTB need a champion in the coming apocalypse, why not just ask him? He'd do it. Why give him Wolfram & Hart to trick him into it? Aren't the PTB eternal, more like the flip side of the First? Didn't Illyria say W&H were small potatoes in her day? Maybe the SP just struck up a deal with the PTB recently.
