There be spoilers in this here thread with NO TAGS - Dr Who season 4

Well it was obviously going to be me that gets it... this whole similarity connection thing is getting freaky... in a good way! 🙂

Ooh good point on the adult adipose front... I mean if it ends up like the blob that ate everyone, I might change my mind.
Although, I wouldn't mind the adipose dieting pills- I mean, lose a pound and gain a cute alien pet all at once- genius!

I know, but I like it freaky.....haha

Seriously though, you're not me are you?

I would love a 'The Blob' episode with the Adipose as some evil ferocious creature.

And if Miss Foster had been honest and told the world what would happen, as long as you limited it to the fat, they'd have sold even more.

Everyone would have been a winner.

The Adipose would have a new breeding ground, we'd all lose weight and the NHS wouldn't have to deal with Obesity so economically speaking, it would have been winners all round.

Hello Cutie
I can't see The Blob as evil though... more just accidently absorbing everything in it's path.. cute yet dangerous!
THANK YOU, someone gets my humour.

I got it but I didn't want to be mean and point out that the creature in the Christie ep is more likely to be a wasp...damn! I did 😉

...and yes, I will be buying a toy Adipose baby if they ever get brought out... 🙂

Hello Cutie
They are so adorable. Especially if they wave like they did in the episode!
See, its just too much of a coincidence to be unrelated, maybe Donna just doesn't understand

Donna is a bit slow, bless her, we can forgive her for not quite getting it right!

*checks self* No, I'm definitely female, and also not you, so I've come to the conclusion that you are me instead! You like it freaky... indeed! LOL.

It's true though, there was definite economic benefit to the adipose breeding over here.. and maybe after they've slimmed down the UK, we can send them to America- like a new British export- we'd make LOADS of money from that.
And Miss Foster wouldn't have fallen to a horrible untimely death, so there was definite benefit where she was concerned!

!

I think they should be the epitome of evil because thats the farthest thing from your mind with the ickle kiddies.

Donna is a bit slow, bless her, we can forgive her for not quite getting it right!

!

Or maybe her Internet source is slow cause Donna, she was far from unintelligent.

Haha - no. I'm definitely ALL man baby.

Exactly - would have been a perfect symbiotic relationship between the peoples.

I would also have liked Miss Foster to come back around for an episode - she was great.

I'm still convinced Donna will die in a horrific and pointless way.

Yup, I can see the Donna death.

And I didn't mean she was stupid... just a little.. well, if you had common sense, you wouldn't be mouthing over a room where, if you're caught, there's potential death. 🙂 Saying that, it was a brilliant scene.

I just don't want the adipose to be evil okay?? For once, I am voting for the non-evil side [since normally I am an evil-shipper, mwah ha ha ha!] for the adipose, but the evil side for Miss Foster- I loved the character. And she wasn't exactly evil either.. definitely didn't deserve death by dropping from a great height. I could see a great episode involving her and an adipose that she's kept, and she's out to wreak havoc on the Doctor and Earth with an evil giant blob. Good call BotD!

And any more comments about you being all man, and I'll have to start censoring you 🙂

I guess I'll live with the "Donna" character, you're right, I wouldn't want someone like Rose if we can't have the original.

But I still don't see how you guys like Donna... ::huh1::

I'm going on a limb here after watching The Fires of Pompeii and say this.

That was the most IMPORTANT episode of the entire run of the New Who.

Key bits I think

The 'she is coming' - obviously Rose
Reference to a storm worse than the medusa cascade - again
I wonder if there was a reason there was a pause when they were calling Donna the Daughter of London for the first time.
Ohhh and thats two episodes running NOT INCLUDING Christmas Invasion, where the Shadow Proclamation has been used. Wonder if that will be something for later?

I thought 'stab in the back' and the choice might be connected. Something about the 'Pompeii or the World' just didn't quite fit.
There was no choice there.
That can't be the terrible choice The Doctor has to make BUT I have felt for a while that the series is leading to The Doctor having to make a HUGE choice regarding his people and the Time War and this was a taster of that.

Rose did look quite stern last week, ok she was searching for him BUT does she blame him for something?
I wonder if Rose could be the 'big bad' this season.

I didn't think the "she" that is coming is Rose, i think there might be something big gonna happen with the Shadow Proclamation though

See now that I have had time to think about it, the fact that Rose is the obvious one suggests it's not her.

Do you think it could be the woman that took the Masters ring?

The more I think of it, the more I'm thinking this episode is a double bluff.

Could be, but they've said they're bringing back old enemies and i read on Wikipedia that in the old series, there was a female timelord, i thought it might be her

Which could be the woman?

The female you are referring to is The Rani - I actually thought that who Miss Foster was going to be, what with her having a sonic device and choosing a name for herself.

As soon as I saw her sonic pen I thought 'Rani' but alas, I were wrong 🙁

Russell T. Davies joked in the commentary of 'The Last Of The Time Lords' that it was the hand of the Rani picking up the Master's ring. Maybe eh? That'd be quite cool.

Edmund Blackadder
Love the idea she might turn up
Ohh and Donna continued to ask the right questions again.

I love how she questioned the Doctor and all but the best question was the 'Latin' one.

It is one that has constantly bugged me in shows like Star Trek, how do they speak in their own languages when everything is translated.

Now we know, they don't, they speak Welsh.

Her one redeeming quality 😉

I liked this episode actually. Like you said, alot of interesting questions presented itself in this episode aswell the always teetering morality of what's right and what's wrong. My favorite part though was this line "Doctor she is returning" *Dies of joy*

Why was that your favourite part?

I am now convinced that was not a line aimed at Rose, but one we're meant to think is Rose - it is just too obvious.

Alot of that episode was 'too obvious' and I don't mean that in a negative way. I believe that we're supposed to believe one thing and it is going to be something else entirely.

Edit:

Watched again - does anyone think there will be ramifications of not only saving the family(shouldn't they be dead - Fathers Day comes to mind) and the fact Donna and The Doctor are now 'House Gods'.

I thought this episode was pretty mediocre. Parts of it were cool, but it just didn't have that zing that Doctor Who used to have. Part of it is because the Doctor has become a darker character, 'cause of his separation from Rose and the death(?) of the Master.

Excellent episode and it was just awsome! I loved the references and my guess is all will tie in with the finale plot. I thought She is comming back ref's to Donna, for soem reason, maybe because I heard rumours
that her time line unravells and what is on her back could be the rumoured spider thing
