There seems to be a strange glitch.....

....involving one of my posts in the CARITAS section. It's in the thread titled "YOUR DVD COLLECTION?"

Here's the thing.....when I posted, the thread didn't go to the top of the page like it would normally do, it stayed right where it was near the bottom. Plus, the name of the person who last posted should be mine, but it isn't. The name that's there is THE FIRST EVIL.....but when you go into the thread, MINE is the very last post.

And thirdly, it seems my profile and THE FIRST EVIL's name seem to have fused together.........for when I click on his name in the thread list, MY profile pops up.....not his.

It's all very strange.

Please advise. 😱
 
I just went and checked it out and all was acting normally. When I clicked on your profile button above your post in the thread it opened a new page with your profile only.

Might it have been a glitch with your PC? Or maybe the board just hadn't refreshed? Like I said, it's displaying everything as it should be now and there seems to be no glitch at all.🙂
 
hey well were on the subject of glitches....

Does anyone else notice a sudden 'load time problem?'. It started about 3 days ago. I'll log on and everything will 'lag'. If I 'copy' something then I have to wait a sec for it to show up. When I scroll down a page the screen gets all 'choppy' for a breif second and doesn't scroll down smoothly like it used to. Its possible its my computer but I doubt it. I deleted all my spyware and don't have any viruses and havn't gone or done anything different on my computer then I normally do.

In fact the only page on this site that works like it used to for me is my profile. Don't know why.

I'm just wondering if anyone else noticed it, the sites having problems, or your making adjustments.

By the way. If I use the 'tabula Rasa' scenario as my background 'Angel season 5' and 'spoilers along with 'buffy season 5 and 6' don't have pictures. I changed to calvery to see if it works better. I get the pictures but the load times the same.

any advice? thanks for your time.
 
Interesting about the time lag, as it has been happening to me as well. In fact, there was a HUGE lag when I submitted the post I mention above, but I just attributed that to a slow connection at the time.
It would seem the Board itself might be under some strain, and not our respective PCs. I just hope it's not too serious.

Citizen Cordelia, my thanks to you for your prompt attention to the matter, I really thought I had inadvertently BROKEN something on the Boards here...lol.
You're right, the problem does seem to have corrected itself....I'm just sorry you had to waste your time.

Probably a shortage of internal memory, happens when you have too many programs open at the same time.
 
Hmm thanks for that AC 🙂

If the server load is high that could also do it - also, if it's jumping, try and see if someone in the thread has an animated banner and see if that's what's doing it. If it is, please pm me about it.

See I always blame every problem on bandwidth. thats my solution. thanks for th help so far. Right now its a little better but it does seem that when many members are on it gets real bad. The page loads up fine but to scroll down is all 'choppy' just like I said. thanks again. hope you find the problem soon. If you don't then...I'll have to deal.
 
Ok I have an idea. Is there a certain 'Background' that has more problems then others or is one 'better' then others. Cause I use Tabula Rasa.

the things that happen when...
1)scrolling down the page. (it lags and takes a sec to fully load, never happened before)
2)Typeing (sometimes if I slecet soemthing, go back, highlight stuff, there is a delayed reaction. (That has never happened before ever, anywere. and its real annoying)
3) The main page is all weird and pushed to one side. (When it loads up everythings on the left side. (this has happened to me before, like onec everytime I log on. Now its whenever I go to the main page. and 4 pictures, 2 angel, and 2 buffy don't show up in Tabula Rasa).

thats about it. I;m gonna go through the list of backgrounds to see if some work better.


Oh heres another one. My last posts arn't showing up anymore. They only show up after I re-post in that thread.

Its happened in Caritas, Alternate reality, and Carpe Noctom.

why is it me having all these problems? Its almost as if theres a war between these boards and my computer and neither is winning.

I havn't gone to any different sites then I normally do, and they're all registered not add ons to thinks like 'Angelfire'. (except for my site)

I don't own Kazza and I don't DL anything. ARGGHHHH!
 
Mmy problem turned out to be a Virus. Got it fixed now (my Dad managed to get the fix for free). I still have 'choppy page' problems but other then that, I;m good.
