There should be one more slayer, shouldn't be?

I have this problem.
When Buffy died in first season, Kendra was called, right?
after Kendra's death Faith was called.......
And who was called after Buffy's dead in 5th season???
Did I missed something???
Or there is one Slayer missing...........

I was at a convention and Jane and Drew both confirmed that the story about the Slayerline is that when Kendra was called the line went through her not Buffy so when Kendra died Faith was called so the Slayerline went through her and still not Buffy. So when Buffy died in Season 5 no other Slayer was called cause Faith was still alive.

BUT, they said that when Season 7 came around Joss changed his mind and decided that both Faith and Buffy would have to die before a new Slayer was called...........I hope that made sense.

It didn't come from the man himself (Joss) but his writers so I'm going to say that it is very correct.

This could mean, that Buffy and Faith are threated like one.... Their deaths = end of the Slayerline.....

BUT
I doesn't make any sense, cause from what you are sayin' after Faith death new slayer should be called (it was kinda stupid, that Caleb wanted to kill Faith b4 he killed all potentials.... It's obvious that one of potentials would be called then...)
because if no slayer was called after Buffy's death in 5th season, then Caleb could kill her and no slayer would be called..... slayerline in in Faith...... So I don't get it......
It's too complicated........

Well, if both Faith and Buffy died that would mean another Slayer was activated.

Up until Season 7 (where Joss changed his mind) another Slayer would be called if Faith died but in Season 7 Caleb would have to have killed both of them to activate another Slayer.

The writers (Jane and Drew) confirmed that Joss had changed his mind at the start of Season 7. So the rules changed in Season 7.

Don't know if that actually helped explain anything but remember that the rules changed.

ok see its like a battery, Buffy was all charged up in S1 and then she drowned and died for amin and her battery fluid stuff went out then she was rechareged with new battery fluid but they got a new battery instead thus being Kendra, Kendra died Faith was activated, Buffy died in S5 their was no Slayer cause Buffy already used her calling card and each Slayer only gets one, Buffy could die 1000 deaths and come back and no slayer would be called cause she is no longer recongnized as the true slayer, Faith is, if The First killed all of the potentials then killed Faith no slayer would be called cause the power of the slayer wouldnt have anywhere to go but the line of slayers now runs through Faith so if she dies a new slayer will be called and Faiths calling card is taken away

I think there would still be a slayer unless you killed off all the girls in the world. Because, even though they aren't potentials right now, there must be a line through which the power would run... and it would have been hard to knock off the entire line of potentials. That's only due to the fact that there seemed to be a lot of them when Willow 'called' them all.

I see what ya wanna to tell........
And I think I understand.
But it would be kinda cool if there would be slayer that nobody knows about.
Imagine all of their faces if she appearces... "Forgotten Slayer" without Watcher (cause she shouldn't even exist)... hehehehe
I like that idea.........

and thx for explanations. I understand now. Besides now, when rules changed, doesn't matter if there is one more slayer........

i had never really thought about it, but yeah, it baffles me all the way. I suppose that we will see in time what Joss and David have in store for us. My guess is that we will see at least one more slayer before ANgel ends, and I wager that Joss will change his mind back, and will in fact introduce that "missing slayer".

Well it's all academic, cos theres a s***load of slayers now, running across country staking everything that moves. Except in LA, i'll wager...

This is a thing I don't get about all of the Slayer's which were activated now. When everyone one of them dies, will they all pass their powers onto another girl? So there will always be a huuuge amount of Slayers? Or will they all just die, and when Faith dies, that will be the time the Slayer powers are passed on?

Buffster6- Thanks for that! I thought that there should be another slayer but now I understand. In a way that's good because that would be kinda horrific if there were 3 slayers roaming around trying to control everything. lol. Plus what happened to the "In every generation a slayer is born. She ALONE will stand against the vampires, the demons and the forces of darkness. She is THE Slayer." Noticed It said THE slayer. Not A Slayer. But things worked out the way they did, so whatever. lol. ttyl.

I think that those girls that are born that would have been born as potentials will be born as slayers, so there will be a never ending supply. Except in LA...

I think there should be more than just one or 2 slayers. There should be like 1 slayer in each state and/or country. But things are the way they are. I mean I can see why there is only one slayer. but why only one slayer when there are many many vampires and demons? I still think there should have been another slayer called after Buffy died in season 5 although I do see why another slayer wont be called until both Buffy and Faith die. I guess that does make more sense. ok... ttyl.

well according to Fray history, Slayers were called but not activated but not actually called a true slayer wasnt called for quiet awhile until Fray so im guessing the line still runs through Faith but when she dies it will probably pass onto a new potential who isnt a slayer and the slayers will just eventually die off anyway

lol...your sig is trippy...willow with white hair....she looks like a grama...

and faith is a bad ass slayer!!

I think it was something to with Buffy bot being used so they didn't know about Buffy having actually died then she came back 😉

What I've wondered since all the potentials in the world got their powers, is if they know they're slayers. They suddenly get all this strength, but how do they know what its for? Buffy didn't know until that watcher dude went and told her, but there's no more watchers. All the slayers in the world probably don't even know that vampires exist!
