im 16 and i have found a lump in my testicles. i have had it for months sints june 2002, from what i could remember. so its sopost to feel realy hard isn't it and dosn't hurt when you feel it? i wouldn't say it was hard and it kind of hurts when i, examin, it to see if it has gotten bigger. but now im really worried and depressed about it. its always on my concience. im just too embaresed to tell any one about it. i cant bring myself to tell my parents. how would you tell them or would even if your female? i just need some advice. i'm thinking of finally making an apointment for friday, but no one will know but me that im going.... thats if i do. im preparing myself for the worst, im that sure it something bad. help me.

I'm not a man, but I think that you should tell someone about it, even if not your parents. It's not something you really want to leave and hope will go away. It's probably nothing, it could be something like a cyst, but you can't afford to just ignore it. 😉

Have you not got a close friend, or relative that you could confide in? I don't think I would know what to say to my parents and I'm 32, so it must be extremley hard at 16. Please make an appointment at your doctors though, as I am sure they will put your mind at ease, all this worrying isn't going to be doing you any good. If you can't bring yourself to tell anyone, then at least make sure you go to the doctors.

I'm sorry I've not got any better advice than that - I am sure though that if you were to pluck up the courage and tell your parents you would feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders - afterall that old saying, 'a problem shared, is a problem halved' is often true. At least you won't be facing the problem on your own anymore and you would have your parents love and suport to get you through it, whatever the outcome. 🙂

Good luck, and make that appoinment! 😉

I found this information at the Bupa site.

Common testicular problems

Testicular cysts
a cyst is a collection of fluid. A cyst around the testis is called a hydrocoele usually painless may develop as a result of injury or infection of the testis or epididymis - can be very large
Treatment may involve draining fluid out of the cyst with a needle or, surgical removal with an anaesthetic.

Infection of the testes
can affect men of any age main symptoms will usually be pain or inflammation of the testes, and a fever with infections

It's actually very informative so maybe it would be worth checking out the site yourself, it may allay some of your fears. 🙂

i had a psy of relief when i read that... but only a little one. im planing to ring the doctors on thurs because i get home before anyone else so i can do it alone. i'll make an oppointment for Fri, if i can pluck up my courage, because i finish college at 12:00. well it looks like ether way i'll have to tell my parents, but i will find it easyer to tell them i've already had it checked out and this is what it is and what needs to be done. Anya i really apriceate your support! REALLY! on that note i think i've spelt really wrong!

No problem, glad to have helped out, if only a little. 🙂 And good luck for Friday, I shall keep my fingers crossed everything goes alright for you. 😉

BuffyUKer, im a guy, and feel both of your tresticles becuase you have to check the difference btween the two, if its a lump toward the end or tip of the each testicle, thats normal, its just a tube

please let us know if you made that appt.. i know im a girly but i have had a few lumps in the neither regions  the first i left thinking it would go away and it was not a good thing to do .. since then any lump or abnoramlity i go to the doctors the doc is patient with me and they would prefer to check you out to make sure you are ok and to teach you about your body than to have you scared and maybe have health complications... it probably is a normal thing..but it is truely best to be safe hunni🙂 good luck🙂

Dude! I just finished talking about this in another post but I'll re-iterate in here in case you miss it because it sounds like exactly what I have!

I just got back from having an ultra-sound on my right testicle, my symptoms were exactly the same as yours, pretty much no pain, one testicle getting larger but not hard lumpy style. I made an appointment with my doctor after trying to ignore it for like half a year, and he sent me for the ultra-sound.

Man I can't tell you what a relief it is to KNOW that you don't have cancer.

Turns out I have a cyst full of fluid at the bottom of my testicle. This is a perfectly normal thing to happen, in fact everyone has them on their nuts, most of them just don't grow!

My doctor said he has seen some bigger than grapefruits, so a little one is NOT a big deal, however it will require removal, be it a needle or surgery. My doctor said that the needle leaves the possibility that it will just fill with fluid again, so I will probably opt for the surgery.

Long story short, tell your parents. Come on, they brought you into this world and obviously care very much about you, so let 'em know what's going on! Remember you don't have to show them, but you will have to show your doctor and the person that does the ultra-sound. Mine was a lady and I thought it would be really awkward but actually we had a nice conversation. 😀

BTW what finally convinced me to get them checked out was I had a dream the night before I told my parents that I was dying of cancer. It was incredibly vivid and I believe it was a message. I know the boys are a very sensitive subject but THAT'S ALL THE MORE REASON TO WHIP EM OUT AND GET EM CHECKED MAN! Hope everything goes well.
