I figure because I said hey! before in the show while watching that someone else may have done the same. In season four when Forest, Graham and Riley were in the lunch caf eating and talking about Buffy (who was breaking the machine) they said 'maybe she's Canadian' and I said HEY! It was all in fun but I was thinking are we weird or something....

Anyone else have a hey moment?
 
My one is in ANGEL...it's in the first season and Cordy has taken a message for Doyle and she says it was a guy from 'Your part of England' i.e. Ireland.!!! That made me go grrr! Really annoys me when people do that, I get on my Ireland-is-it's-own-country-soapbox!

I think TC can atest to that!🙂

Def agree with the jean ironing thing... i dont do it ALL the time but sometimes you have to, they are just so wrinkled! so yea, i "HEY'd that too.
 
the bit in the Faith arc of the comment when Gigi says to Faith, about Roden, 'Don't mind him, he's from Belfast' or something to that effect. we're not all evil!!

I immediately thought of you when I read that. It made me go "Hey!" as well. LOL

I don't know if this is a 'HEY' moment but when Xander was moving his stuff out of the basement and talked about his Babylon 5 Commemorative plates I went Hey!! They mentioned one of the only shows I think is better then Buffy 😀
 
Being from the UK, every dig they take and mistake they make with England and Ireland, which of Joss supposedly being an Anglophile is one of the major problems with Buffy, they manage to get nearly everything wrong and offensively so. That remark in the commentary for the episode they think Giles is evil and they go on about him never having washed up since he got back and Joss says something like "People from Britain never do anyway". Pretty speechless about that remark.

Wicca's portrayal in Buffy. A lot of my friends are Wiccan and years ago one of them started to teach me several rudimentary things about it and I never travel without the Pentacle I have because of them.

Another major offensively inaccurate problem with the show is it being muddled up with Witchcraft which are two different followings and always being shown to be dark and evil.

He may be talented, but there are times when I'm sure we all feel like telling him to go shove this remarks where the light of his little creation doesn't ****ing shine. He can be incredibly insensitive and downright insulting like everyone else.

I'm not Canadian. Or British. Or Irish.
So nothing anyone on the show said has really ever offended me.
There have been some America cracks too, but whatever.
Also, it's just a show, and they're only jokes, so there's really no reason to get REALLY offended...

It's not really offensive more like 'The cheek!'...
 
i may not be british, but i live in a city that people crack jokes about all the time. But its FUNNY. And i know the things people say about it arn't true so i don't let it bother me, i just laugh because it's funny (and part of the comedy is in knowing that these things arn't true).

No, I understand where you were coming from with the Ireland thing. Cordelia, however, was always saying stupid things in the first season of Angel. That line was just reiterating that.

I just don't want this thread to turn into other people venting about how 'offended they were about this line' and all that. It might not, but I'm just stating my opinion now, you know?

Oh I totally know where your coming from and I know what the writers were trying to do with the line but it still made me go 'Hey'! so thats why I posted about it. But I agree this thread could get messy if we let it.

I guess there was a "Hey!" moment. When Willow said that Parker was poop-head I was like, "Hey! My cousin is in a group home for poop heads! Not cool!"

I hear it's just so hard to rehabilitate poop heads. It's like their heads are just so full of poop, they're just too far gone to change their ways. It's sad, really...

I know! the trials of poop heads are looked over in todays society these days! It so sad that the likes of Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears are starving poop heads across the world of much needed attention and help...they're humans too!
 
actually, that made me say hey becuase ive been using "poop-head" or "poopy-head" for years, and when she said that i was like "hey, she stole my line!" (for once, it wasnt me stealing one from the show haha).
 
Actually, I do have a 'hey' moment.
In the first couple seasons, Buffy had a poster on her wall that was basically a map of the sky. It had all the stars and the symbols and all that on it. I had that poster in my room, too, for the longest time. It was really weird. So yeah, 'hey'...

I am pretty sure everyone wasn't offended. In my post I said I wasn't mad. It was funny, just one of those 'hey!' funny moments.
