Have you ever said anything and people look at you like you're not normal ?
It happens to me quite often, and more recently on some known films.

I have said : "I don't care for the "Stars Wars" movies, I don't want to see them and I don't like Fast and Furious, I have never seen a single movie and I don't want to."
And people were like : " On what planet do you live ?" 😵

never seen those furious movies either
This kind of happens to me because my opinions self-consciously run contrary to popular opinion and mass opinion, and I am proud of that. Usually I get a respectful version of incredulity though.

A few years ago, when speaking openly to male friends about the miscarriage I just had seemed to shock them. I guess it's kind of a taboo subject, that is only really spoken about behind closed doors or anonymously. Weird.

I remember telling my ex-fiancé's dad, who worked for the BBC, that they were a bunch of biased, corrupt scumbags over dinner being met with some "oh shit" expressions.

Na, they were worried if you had said what you really thought of the idiotic dipshits.
For me it's more like things I do that shock people. I am sure there are plenty of things I say which shocks them but I am more a do-er than a say-er. Of course most of the things I say that I offend people I am purely innocent of... it's all just a misunderstanding. People take offense at things I say for no reason.

It happens a lot online, but not in real life. Mostly it's Americans who are shocked, by me casually mentioning something that's totally normal in Denmark, but seems crazy to people from the US. Too many examples to list, lol.

Other than that, I've mostly been used to being the one giving strange looks; I had a best friend and I have a sister who were both born without that handy filter between their brain and their mouth. It's hilarious to be a witness to 🙂

People are often shocked when I mention that I eat my grilled cheeses and cook salmon with maple syrup. 🙂
I get that same 'look' when fellow Danes find out that I put mayo on top of cheese, or that I like paté with cheese on top 🙂

I don’t like chocolate. People always think I’m off my rocker for that one.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of chocolate either, unless it's hot and in a cup 😀 (with little marshmallows)

Any creature that would eat mayo atop cheese really defies categorization.

Totally depends on which cheese
Long story made very short, I've learned to watch what I say, especially in real life where it can affect my life directly. I don't blather on for the thumbs up the way most people do, however, but I try not to shock people (most of the time).

I don't understand that, how can you watch what you are saying, unless you write it down?
I get that same 'look' when fellow Danes find out that I put mayo on top of cheese,
You mean humans instead of Danes? That is like seriously nasty! Mayo on top of cheese? Oh my word.

What, now Danes aren't considered humans? Which breed am I, then?
I can think of a couple of "family friendly" items I can share here:

1. At the market where they have those "10 items or less" lanes; there's always somebody who thinks they can sneak by with 15-20 items. If I'm in line with them, I will point out the sign, and mention they have too many items. If they ignore me, I'll usually say, "Can you count? You're in the wrong line."

2. Whenever I'm approached by people who want to talk about impeaching Trump, my response is usually, "Do I know you? Go away." Or, "Are you a Communist or something ?" That one always goes down well! 😛

I guess I "look" like a Democrat, because these people always single me out. (For the record, I don't belong to any political party these days
I just get TIRED of people complaining about the present government)
