With the animated series you could target a whole new audience as really recreate the universe.

But would you reboot it? or just have it take place randomly in her high school years as the series did? If you rebooted it then I could go for that. Have a whole different cast of characters, etc. I mean they already rebooted it once, why not twice?

Buffy the motion picture comics, done properly. All the cast back to voice their characters. Realistic and adult looking animation, we must have the technology for it by now. Then just polish up the ideas a little bit. Add some more dialogue, lose a few bits that didn't work and it'll be great.
