Beautiful people sick of having to share the same partying space with less attractive human specimens will soon get the chance to mingle only with their own kind at a new bar that turns away ugly people.

It sounds like a joke, but, sadly, it is not. The new venue is being opened by BeautifulPeople.com, an exclusive social media platform that only accepts good looking men and women. Since it launched in 2002, it has reportedly rejected over 11 million people, with only 800,000 gaining the coveted membership status. To join the controversial website, applicants have to pass a strict rating process, where current members vote during a period of 48 hours, based on submitted photographs and a short bio.

The new nightclub is set to open in February 2017, in West Hollywood. See you there! Just kidding, you’re definitely not hot enough…

But really, this sounds like a great idea. I think other online dating sites need to follow suit.

It's just like Hakkasan in Las Vegas, to get in there you have to send a picture and get approved. People bought into the hype for a few months then girls stopped going because they want to go out with all their friends not only their "hot" friends. Now the club is just a bunch of dudes who are confused why the females have moved on to other clubs.

No see. On the surface it would seem that way. But it's for, in part, a dating site. (the site that was reporting it got some of their facts wrong) So you know everyone that's there is looking to hook up. And you don't have to worry about a real "date". If you meet someone on BeautifulPeople.com rather than worrying about going to diner and all that crap, you just say I'll meet you at the party. (the only time the club only admits 'attractive' people is when it's doing an exclusive party for beautifulpeople.com- otherwise it's a normal club)

It's actually a really good idea. Maybe the implementation could be better, but the idea has legs. It would be if Match.com bought a swanky restuarant for their members to go to.

Sounds like some folk are okay going to clubs that let it junkies and wannabe gangsters in their hoodies and carry knives and guns. I'm not comfortable with low-lives like that existing let alone to be in an enclosed space with them.
Thing is how far do they go to determine what a nice person is?

There have always been clubs with certain requirements for as long as the books I read go back. The idea of only breeding to the "right" stock seems to be going more out of fashion in this day and age. Its a money maker for those without enough personality to discover people without this kind of arrangement.

I only recently learned that barefeet at IGA (grocery shop) is not a "normal" world thing. Haha.

OH man, I started laughing at the picture of the founder of that webpage. He's a beautiful person? LOL. Which just goes to show - beauty is subjective and only letting in 'the pretties' is a ridiculous concept because there's always going to be someone in there who thinks you weren't hot enough to have been let in.

Also, oh my god, I'm just picturing getting into that club - with people who specifically went there to find their hot kindred - and ugh... they must be some of the most obnoxious people ever. And you know that people with fat enough wallets are going to be able to get in regardless of looks so...

So, to even try to enter this club you have to be so seriously up your own backside in the first place to genuinely think yourself hot enough..... 🙄

To be honest, even if I were hot enough, I'd not want to hang around with people like that. Give me down to earth ugly weirdos any day! 😀
