Dreams of Raven Spencer, Chosen One.

Takes place before the Merrick Season 8 RPG, after being Chosen.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Raven slept, Raven dreamed.

She was in an apartment. Abandoned. Alone. The night sky flooded through the broken picture window. As Raven walked past it, glass crunched beneath her boots.

Boxes, half-packed, were strewn across the room. She felt as if she'd been here before, as if she should know this place. Part of her resided here, she knew.

She hopped over the railing separating the bed from the window ledge; she landed deftly, and as she did, she noticed a girl lying on the bed. Her face was battered and bruised, almost unrecognizable; she wore a hospital gown.

Raven knew without having to take a second glance that this girl was Faith. She knelt down carefully beside the bed, taking Faith's hand into hers. She reached another hand up to smooth Faith's brunette locks away from her face.

Sorrow beyond helping filled Raven's heart, making her entire body feel like lead. She felt as if she would topple over from the weight of it.

A figure crept out from the darkness of the dimly lit apartment. Raven whipped her head up, spattering tears across the comatose girl's gown. She raised a confused hand to her face, dabbing the tears away.

She hadn't realized she'd been crying.

A young Buffy strolled out of the shadows, looking much different - she wore a black tank top and leather pants, and the cold glint in her eyes matched the light reflecting off the serrated blade she carried. She looked dismissively down at Faith, then cast a cold glare at Raven.

Raven shrank back from the look; acute fear tingled her nerves. She gripped Faith's hand harder than she should've, and as she did, Faith gave the slightest pressure back, moaning a little.

Buffy smiled down at Raven, but there was no joy in it. "I did that, you know," Buffy said, eyes locking on Faith's prone form. "I put her there."

Raven looked from Buffy to Faith and back again. "I know," She replied, voice steely. Her eyes were locked on the blade in Buffy's hand, and as she watched, blood began to colaesce and fall from it. It fell in fat droplets to the floor, staining the carpet.

Buffy cocked her head at Raven, eyes playful. "Oh, c'mon, lil' sister. She hurt us big time," She scrunched her nose cutely, smirk playing on her lips. "Don't you remember?"

Raven stared at Buffy, ticking a glance back at the comatose Faith. She rose, turning to regard Buffy with a cold glare of her own. "I don't remember any of this," she replied, opening her arms to emcompass the whole room. "I...I wasn't here."

Buffy smiled, blade slipping from her hand and embedding itself in the carpet. She started towards her; Raven met her halfway. Buffy regarded her with something akin to sympathy. "Well," Buffy said, taking a breath, "we're gonna have to fix that." She raised a hand, brushing her knuckles across Raven's cheek. The older Slayer leaned in, butting her forehead with Raven's. "Give us a kiss." Buffy whispered, and Raven did.

When Raven opened her eyes once more, Buffy and Faith were gone.

Sunlight flooded the apartment in warm brilliance. Raven walked in the rays of light splashing across the floor, arms folded. The sunlight glinted brightly off her black hair.

She looked down at her clothes - a black and white tye-dye camisole and black jeans. She looked up into the sunlight, confused, and turned around.

Isabel strode from the shadows, wearing a black cashmere sweater and black slacks. There was a smile on her familiar face, and it warmed Raven.

She looked down at her clothes again, shooting Isabel a confused look. "These aren't mine," she said, confused.

Isabel smiled bigger, taking a step forward. "Oh, babe, they're just clothes," she said offhandedly, with a flick of her wrist. "Besides - they look a helluva lot better than the stuff you normally wear."

Raven let that sink in. She looked about the apartment, letting the silence reign for a moment longer before saying, "So...what's my line?"

Isabel took another step forward, grin turning wicked. "Hon, I was always more of a do-it-yourself-er. Ain't like we gotta follow they're script anyway," she scoffed. "Don't like it."

Raven smiled. "That's my girl," she said fondly, opening her arms for a hug. "Let's rewrite it."

Isabel smiled and stepped into Raven's arms.

From behind Isabel rose Buffy, serrated blade gripped in her left hand. Before Raven could warn Isabel, the other girl went stiff in her arms, hilt of the blade protruding from her back.

Raven opened her mouth to scream, and in the same instant, she felt the sharp pain of another blade slamming into her gut. "Shoulda been there, Ray," Faith's sultry voice whispered. "Quite a ride."

And it was night, Raven and Isabel wavering on the edge of the balcony. Buffy and Faith were conversing; Raven found it hard to hear; her eyes were blurring from the harsh wind whipping at them.

"They didn't follow the script," Faith was saying, she and Buffy advancing slowly.

Buffy threw Raven a dismissive look. "They don't have a choice," she said sweetly, eyes narrowing.

Raven glared down at the both of them. Blood bubbled and curdled from the wound in her gut; as she spoke, blood dripped from her lips. "We're the Chosen," she spat, blood arcing through the air and landing of Buffy's pristine face. The other girl looked shocked. "We survive. We endure."

Raven turned to Isabel, her bloodsoaked hand grasping the other girl's equally bloody one. The two girls stepped backwards, falling as one.

Wow, that was really indepth and cool lol, keep writing.
Would you be able to have a look at my fic it's called "My fanfic-season 6 the lost story" and tell me what you think in a post. It'd be greatly apprecitated. Thanks

After reading it once, I have to say I'm a little confused about the plot, but the description was very good indeed and I think you wrote Faith and Buffy pretty well 🙂

Chapter 2- Isabel

Folding back the clean white sheet, Isabel smiled as she tucked in the corners, making the bed look nice.
"Smell good, don't they?"
Looking up, Isabel stared at the girl on the other side of the bed, also folding in a corner of the sheet.
Frowning at the girl, Isabel was surprised to know exactly who this girl was, even though she had never seen her before.
"I wouldn't know," Isabel replied, straightening a crease.
"Right, I forgot," Raven said with a sad smile.
Isabel shook her head at the comment. "Wait, no"¦this isn't right. This isn't us."
Raven smiled at her. "Thought you said we didn't have to follow the script?"
The memory flashed back into Isabel's mind, of the fight on the rooftop, of falling.
Shaking her head, Isabel looked at the clock on the dresser on Raven's side of the bed. It read 7:30.
"Wow, it's so late."
Raven laughed dryly. "Nah, that clock's completely wrong. It stopped a while ago."
"I wish I could stay, but"¦" Isabel trailed off as Raven finished her sentence.
"You have to go, I get it."
"It's just, with"¦"
"Big sis waking up. I know."
There was a flash and Isabel looked down at the freshly made bed, and saw a girl laying there, her face swollen and purple. She was hurt bad.
Isabel took a step back, shocked. "Faith"¦but, no. This isn't right. She's already awake." The girl disappeared.
Movement in the corner of her eye drew Isabel's attention and she saw Buffy and Faith standing in the corner of the room, watching silently.
"So, where do we go from here?" Raven asked, coming around to the other side of the bed to stand by Isabel.
"I think you both know the answer to that question."
Buffy's voice drew both girls' attention and they turned to see the two older women walk across the room to stand before them.
"You know what that line is now," Faith said, reaching out a hand to touch Raven's cheek, just as Buffy did the same to Isabel.
A blinding white light filled the room and Isabel shielded her eyes with an arm.
"Raven?"

"Raven?"
Bolting upright in her bed, Isabel Frasier looked around her small, cramped room, and ran her fingers through her short brown hair.
The dream had been intense"¦just like the five of six dreams she'd had before.
All of her dreams had involved the same three people"¦Raven, Buffy and Faith.
She had never met any of these women, and had no idea how they had ended up in her subconscious mind. But apparently they had made enough of an impact on her life to appear in her dreams.
Throwing back the covers, Isabel climbed out of bed and left her room, trying to put the whole uncomfortable experience out of her mind.
As she made her way to the kitchen, Isabel switched on the radio and turned up the volume.
She hated being alone in the house, but since her father had passed away just over a year before, she really didn't have a choice.
Boiling some water for coffee, Isabel went to the front door and picked up the newspaper, unrolling it and scanning the front page as she walked back to the kitchen.
Sitting down at the table, she started to read the headlines.
But not one word sank into her mind, as she thought about the dream she had just had, one of several she couldn't figure out.
But one thing Isabel had realized was something she knew she couldn't change.
The dreams were telling her that she was changing.

The Next Day

Raven awoke with tear-stained cheeks and the taste of copper in her mouth.

She moaned, not wanting to pry her eyes open. She rubbed the crust of dried tears from her eyes, peeking them open to find Hunter whipping open the drapes.

"F-ck, babe," she bit, squeezing her eyes shut. She pulled the sheets over her head, trying to block out the sunlight. Beneath the sheets, she checked her watch. Twelve-thirty. She moaned again. "Oh, well, sh-t," she said, exhausted. She pushed the sheets back and hobbled to her feet, eyeing Hunter. He looked smug, leaning against the window sill, arms crossed. Raven inclined her head, pointing an accusatory finger at him. "Don't look at me like that." With that, she turned and started down the hallway, almost knocking over a box precariously balanced on the bedside table.

Hunter's new apartment was just that - new. Boxes were strewn all over the place, stacked against walls, half-packed. It was sparse, only a mattress on Hunter's room to sleep on and a small TV to watch basic cable, but it would do. For now.

Raven yawned as she entered the kitchen, tugging open the fridge to find half a gallon of milk and some juice. She sighed and pulled out the milk and began scrounging for some cereal.

She didn't have to turned to know that Hunter was standing behind her, concern etched in every line of his face. She turned, plastering on a smile, and leaned in for a kiss. "'Morning, love." she said happily. Which isn't entirely a lie, she told herself.

Hunter smiled a little himself, wrapping an arm around her waist as she poured her cereal. "You've gotta leave for work in an hour, babe." he reminded her, patting her hip. Raven's shoulders slumped at that, the meager amount of energy she had mustered gone in an exhale. She closed her eyes for a moment, pouring her milk across her frosted flakes.

"I know you hate it," Hunter began, hugging her tightly from behind. "But it gets you a paycheck, right? How bad can money be?"

Raven pulled a spoon from the drawer, twisting out of Hunter's grasp as she did so. "Bad enough to make me wanna tear my hair out in clumps and feed it to my asshole boss." She answered crisply. She shoved her spoon into her cereal and began to shovel it into her mouth.

Hunter leaned over and kissed her temple, brushing her jet black hair behind her ear. "I know, honey," he said feelingly, trying to be consoling. Raven appreciated his concern. "Just a little while longer, okay? Promise."

Raven smiled at that. She turned and moved herself to the other counter, where the TV sat. She flicked it on, changing it to the news. She didn't exactly know why; she, like just about every other person her age, fit the mold of the apathetic young adult: news? BORING. Politics, blahblah, religion, blahblah...

Something deep and primal inside Raven sang in her blood as she watched the newscaster tell a story of the town of Sunnydale, California, and it's collapse into a crater. Earthquakes, they said.

Every fiber in Raven's body was tense. Pictures flashed across the screen, and as they did...

The place was falling apart.

She turned and stopped, screeching for Buffy at the top of her lungs, trying to keep herself upright.
I can't just leave her here! She screamed at herself, watching Buffy and Spike as they -

Her hand was on fire. Tears filled her eyes as they met with Spike's for the last time. "I love you," she said.

Spike smiled wickedly, sorrow playing in his crystal blue eyes. "No, you don't. But thanks for saying it."

Her heart sank, when -

The army surged upwards, hideous, creatures from her deepest nightmares. But she fought, and she fought valiantly, very much the Chosen.

When the UberVamp jumped her, she hadn't even seen.

And as the life drained away from her, she fell -

Raven's spoon clattered to the floor.

She backed away from the counter, hands shaking. "Raven?" Hunter asked, racing to her side, in just enough time to catch her as she collapsed into his arms. She shook from head to toe, unable to stop it.

Are you ready to be strong?

Clipping her brown hair away from her face, Isabel heaved a deep sigh as she prepared to start her shift.
She worked at the deli at the food court in the local mall.
It wasn't a great job, but hey, it was money, right?
She worked three twelve hour shifts a week, plus a half shift on Sundays, which gave her enough money to live on.
Her dad had own the house they lived in and he had left it to his only daughter when he died, meaning she didn't have any rent to pay. But she did have other needs, like food and clothing. Not that she bought much clothes, Isabel wasn't exactly fashion conscious.
Her father had also left Isabel with over ten thousand dollars in a bank account, but so far she hadn't touched a dime of it.
Pasting on a smile she knew the customers could see through, Isabel turned to the first in line.
"What can I get you?"
"I'll have a half-caff latte and a cinnamon bagel," a woman in a business suit ordered.
"To go?"
"Yeah."
Fixing the coffee and bagel, Isabel felt herself fall into her routine, that mindless robotic routine that got her through the day,
Trudging through the monotonous work, Isabel quickly forgot about her dream and Sunnydale. It happened everyday, she'd forget about the dreams until she fell asleep again, and then they'd come back.
Wrapping up a take away sandwich, Isabel felt it for the first time.
A feeling at the base of her skull, a soft tingle that wasn't remotely pleasant.
Turning to hand over the food, Isabel stared into the barrel of a gun as it was levelled at her chest.
"Open the cash register!" the guy holding the gun yelled at her. He looked to be about twenty, and did nothing to try to disguise himself.
"Why?" the response she gave shocked even herself, never mind the half dozen people waiting in line.
Isabel registered the fact that a mom was protectively hugging her kids and a man was on a cell phone, probably calling the cops, but all of her attention was on the guy.
"What do you mean, why?" the guy asked, waving the gun, causing the patrons to freak even more. "I want the cash!"
"That's robbery," Isabel said.
She tried to figure out why she wasn't scared, why her heart rate wasn't racing like everyone else's.
"Just give him the money!" a young girl screamed.
"But that's wrong," Isabel told her.
The guy cocked the gun. "You're gonna be wrong if you don't hand over that money."
Something in Isabel's mind snapped and she lost control of her actions as something primal took control of her body.
Before she knew what she was doing, Isabel struck out at the guy, slamming the heel of her hand into his jaw.
She wasn't sure if time slowed down, or if it sped up so fast that she didn't see if fly by, but the next thing Isabel knew, she was holding the gun and the would-be robber was on the ground at her feet, unconscious.
The patrons around her started applauding and shouting things like "˜well done'.
Dropping the gun onto the counter, Isabel stepped away from it.
"I-I have to get out of here," she stammered.
"Wait, you'll need to talk to the cops, they're on their way," said the guy on the cell phone, his hand over the mouthpiece.
Isabel looked down at the robber, knocked out by her own two hands.
"Something is really wrong with me."
She tore out of the food court before anyone could stop her.

Slamming her front door closed, Isabel leant against it, breathing deeply.
She had run all the way from the mall, and she was barley out of breath.
Dropping her purse onto the hallway table, Isabel made her way to the kitchen, and put some water into the kettle to boil, hoping that some herbal tea would calm her fraying nerves.
The thing at the food court had really freaked her out, more than she wanted to admit. They way she had taken out that guy, like he wasn't even there"¦it just didn't seem real.
Getting some green tea from the cupboard, she put some into a cup and turned on the television set as she waited for the water to boil.
"There's never anything good on at this time," she said aloud as she flipped though the channels.
Sighing, she finally settled on the news. She didn't know why, she just wanted something in the background, some form of noise in her too quiet house.
Lifting the kettle off of the stove, Isabel poured the water into her mug and stirred the tea, cupping the mug in her hands, trying to warm herself, at the same time, blowing into the liquid, trying to cool it.
That feeling at the back of her neck returned and with it the fear that something was about to go very wrong.
Something the news reporter said caught her attention, and Isabel turned towards the set.
"Government officials have confirmed that a freak earthquake has caused the town of Sunnydale, California, to essentially cave in."
As the reporter talked, the camera zoomed in on the whole in the ground that had once been Sunnydale.
The mug in Isabel's hands crashed to the floor as the visions came over her.

She gazed up into those pale eyes, eyes she had let herself get lost in more than once.
"No, no! You've done enough. You could still-"
"No, you've beaten the back. It's for me to do the clean up."
Isabel could hear another voice calling out in the background, telling Buffy to get out.
But Buffy wasn't moving.
"Gotta move, lamb. I think it's fair to say school's out for bloody summer."
"Spike"¦"
"I mean it! I gotta do this!"
Spike held up his hand and Buffy took it in her own. A moment later, their hands burst into flame, but both of them ignore it.
Tears filled Buffy's eyes.
"I love you."
"No you don't. But thanks for saying it."
Isabel watched, as if it was a television, as both of them stared at each other.
"Now go!" Spike yelled.
Buffy released Spike's had and raced up the stairs, the same way, Isabel knew, all of the other girls went, even though she hadn't seen any other girls leave.

Isabel cried out as she was dragged away from the scene. Something inside of herdesperately wanted to stay with Spike. Something deep in her soul told her that Spike was the one she needed to get to.
But as she was dragged out of the vision, back to reality, one question rang our in Isabel's mind, Buffy words dancing around inside her head.

"Are you ready to be strong?"

Lyri and Mesektet, this fic is awesome. I always wanted to know how Raven and Isabel met and now it looks like I'm getting my wish. I love how descriptive you are in your posts. It makes verything seem more real and alive. The whole team work thing you guys have going on is perfect. I don't know what it is about you two, but you have very great chemistry and it shows in your writing. These chapters were really good and I'm really looking forward to read more.

I love you. Thanks so much.
Later That Day

The day worn on.

Raven had collected herself from her episode earlier; still shaken, and ignoring Hunter's pleas for a change, she gathered herself and went on to work. She felt an extreme need to get out of the house.

As she sat in her car, going through the daily motions of removing her piercings and putting retainers in the holes, she allowed herself to be calmed. She sighed and stared out into the street, bustling with people, breathing deep. She knew something weird was going on with her; ever since the first night, when she awoke with her blood singing inside her body, she hadn't been quite right. The dream last night had been one of many, but one of the more prolific. In every dream, she was someone else, someone from another time, but always a girl; a girl, duty-bound and strong.

In every dream, she died.

Raven was so lost in her thoughts she didn't notice the lone figure standing in the middle of the bustling street. She snapped to, however, to catch him looking at her with blue eyes the color of crystal. People kept walking, never running into him, but always giving him a wide berth, as if they didn't even know he was there.

Bright blonde hair shone in the sunlight, which he seemed out of place in; a leather duster flapped in the nonexistant wind at his feet. On his slim, angular face lay a wicked grin, teeth a blinding white.

He just looked at her. Raven sucked in a breath and held it. Spike, something whispered, something not nessecarily her but her all at once. Something that recognized him, even though she had never been face-to-face with him before.

In an instant, the door to the car was thrown open, and Raven was on her feet, bolting towards the figure. "SPIKE!" She screamed, never slowing.

The figure didn't move, didn't take his eyes away from her. Not now, pet, a cultured voice purred inside her head. She froze midstride, almost toppling over. I'll be seeing you soon.

People obstructed her view; and the next time she looked, Spike was gone.

Raven felt heavy, full of lead; she dug black laquered nails into her temples, pulling at her hair. "Christ," she whispered. It occurred to her now that people were staring. She sent them a look that could melt steel. She turned, resigned, and trudged back to her car. "I am so f-cked up."

Gathering herself once more, and tied her hair back and forced herself inside the building.

Time to start another day.

wow you two the fic is great so far, like vg and probley the other merrickans i've been curious about the two as well and all... I am loving it so far cant wait to read more ! 😀

I loved this chapter Mesektet. Spike made an appearance, that was so awesome. But what did he mean by, I'll be seeing you soon? I'm definetly looking forward to more. Great job as always.

With a scream, Isabel's eyes flew open and she bolted upright.
Looking around, she remembered where she was "“ her living room, curled up on the couch, asleep. Again.
It had been bothering Isabel, how much she had been sleeping recently, but now she understood why.
Sleeping was the only way she could learn about whatever was happening to her. The dreams she had been having the past weeks weren't just dreams. They were visions, showing her what she needed to know.
Running her fingers through her short brown hair, she swung her legs down onto the floor and tried to dissect the vision.
In the vision, she had, again, taken the form of a young girl, not much older than she was now. In the vision, the girl was being hypnotized, controlled by another woman. The woman was putting the girl, putting Isabel, into a trance, as she swayed back and forth, telling the girl to look into her eyes, to be in her eyes.
At the last second, the woman had slit the girl's throat with razor sharp fingernails. The girl had died instantly.
Isabel could still feel the sharp pain that cut across her throat.
In the dream, the girl had died. Just like all the other girls in her dreams had died.
"This is important," Isabel said to the empty room, mostly to create some noise. "The dying is important. It's almost like, there can't be another girl until the last one dies."
Rising to pace the floor, she tried to remember the other dreams, the other girls.
There had been one who dressed like a man to fulfil whatever sense of duty she had.
One who had a son, who was a mother.
Another girl, in China, who had been killed by"¦
"SPIKE!"
The image of the blonde haired vampire flashed into her mind, as well as another vision that she had almost forgotten about.
As Isabel remembered the images, of Spike standing in the middle of a crowded street, eyes locked on a parked car and the person inside.
There had been a girl in the car, and she had noticed the vampire.
The girl had been Raven.
The next part almost seemed as if Isabel had been reading Raven's thoughts, for as Spike's words flowed through the other girl's mind, Isabel had never seen his lips move.
"Not now, pet. I'll be seeing you."And then he was gone, as if he had never been there.
As the memories of the vision disappeared, something clicked inside her mind.
"That wasn't a vision. That was real."
For the first time, Isabel realized something she had never thought of before.
Raven was real.
This girl who had been haunting her dreams for the past week was a real live person, living someplace that wasn't here.
"So, if Raven's real, does that mean Buffy and Faith are real too?" she wondered aloud. "And Spike?"
Something insider her told her she was right.
Running to her bedroom, she started to pack a bag.

An hour later, Isabel paid the driver of her cab and thanked him as she climbed out and headed into the airport terminal.
Walking to one of the desks, Isabel looked up at the woman behind the counter. She was too happy to be real.
"Can I help you, honey?"
"I need a flight."
"Where too?" the woman's voice had taken on a condescending tone.
Isabel paused.
In all her hurry to get to Raven and Spike, she never thought about where exactly they were.
"What's the next flight with seats still empty?" Isabel asked.
Giving her a look, the woman turned to a computer screen and clicked a few keys.
"The flight to Chicago has some seats available. It leaves at six fifteen."
Isabel looked at the clock. It was just after four thirty.
"I'll take it." She handed over her passport and money.
The woman printed her ticket.
"Gate twelve. You can wait in the loue. Maybe get some food?" now she seemed worried.
Isabel looked up at her and smiled. "Thank you."
She waited in the lounge.

Great chapter Aly. I love how you have Isabel getting those visions. The way you describe everything makes it seem more realistic. Having Spike in the fic is awesome too. I can't wait to find out what part he plays in this. Keep up the good work guys. You make a great team 😉

That Night

Something was coming.

Raven sat straight up in her bed, panting. Hunter lay sound alseep next to her, not even bothering to get up and move like he had her previous dreams. She sighed, running a shaky hand through her hair.

She pushed the sheet back, sitting on the edge of the bed. This time, her dreams had been the other girl, Isabel. Isabel, Buffy, and Faith all made frequent appearances in her dreams, but this one was about Isabel, and Isabel alone. In Raven's intense desire to forget about the strange turn her life had taken recently, she hadn't bothered to analyze the three people that haunted her dreams.

"Or Spike," she murmured aloud, thoughts racing backwards in time to the apparition she had seen before going to work that day. The wicked grin in his blue eyes stayed with her throughout her shift at the office, striking a primal chord inside her that felt anything but wrong.

Shaking herself, she pushed herself out of the bed and made her way to the door. "Alright, Ray," she said to herself, pulling her black silk robe off the coat hanger by the door. "Let's figure this out, shall we?"

Under the rightful assumption that she wasn't going to be getting any sleep for the rest of the night, she trudged into the kitchen and pulled a can of coffee grounds from the cabinet, along with some filters. Busying herself with nothing work, she allowed her mind to float back to her dream, and this time, didn't reject what her mind had to say to her.

Isabel had been dreaming. Tossing, turning, mumbling; Raven could see that this wasn't a dream, more of a nightmare.

Isabel shot straight up in bed, screaming. Raven didn't have a face, or any kind of physical form, she was just aware; and her heart flew from her as she sent it out to Isabel, and part of her soul along with it.

Time seemed to melt and stretch; Isabel started to pace, mumbling things to herself Raven couldn't hear.

And suddenly, she could; sound snapped back into focus, bright and crisp and clear, as Isabel said, "Raven is real."

Happiness flooded Raven's conciousness as she slept.
Yes, Isabel! I'm real!

Time melted once more; Isabel standing at the counter of an airport, ticket in her hand.

Raven nearly dropped her coffee mug in shock. "Isabel is real. And she's coming here."

If Isabel is real..., she thought, Then Faith...and Buffy...and all the others...

Spike.

Raven walked like a zombie to the living room, dropping onto the couch, head in her hands, letting reality wash over her. I'm a part of something. Something happened to me, and now I'm in line with all these other-

"Into every generation, a Slayer is born."
"Are you ready to be strong?"

Raven's head bolted up from her hands. "A Slayer."

Isabel stood in the middle of the crowded parking lot of the airport and looked around.
Now that she had finally made it to Chicago, she had no idea what she was going to do.
She had to find Raven and Spike that much she knew.
But something inside of her, deep inside her soul, told her that Spike was not in the state. She also knew he wasn't in North Carolina, which was why she had left.
But something also told her that maybe she'd find Raven here.
Throwing her back pack over her shoulder, Isabel walked to the map of the city that was on a wall outside the airport.
Staring at the many streets and suburbs, Isabel heaved a sigh.
"This is getting me know where. Let's see how different I really am."
Closing her eyes, she waved her finger in front of the map, before randomly pointing at a particular place.
She opened her eyes. Her finger had landed directly on the town of Asbury.
"Guess that's a good place to start."
Hailing a cab, she jumped in.
"Asbury, please."
The driver pulled away.
