This season is so depressing

Anybody else thinks this season is so depressing? It's too dark & intense for my taste

I know! It's great, isn't it!? Obviously not for you. But I LOVE stuff like this. S5 was too light for me.

Well it was depressing for me becasue I didn't like the storyline at all. I hoped season 4 would be better when I bought it! But I understand what you mean. I think this was because you saw Buffy and Willow in college! There were much more "real life problems"! As a viewer you can really understand all the study-pressure. The actors had to play a stressed and annoyed character because we should think that they are on college now! More work and so on... And this is reflected on the show!

It was depressing for me because it was bad. If you don't like dark seasons you will hate Season 6...nobody is happy that season lol

Seems I'm far from the only one though. Hello! Angel season 4 are the topic. I blame the previous answers fooling me. 😛

Eh, yes. I do agree that it's the darkest season. I think it got a bad reputation though. Some things annoy me, yes. There's no denying that. But there's also some great stuff as well. And even if the road to the end was rocky at best I still enjoy the question it asks. What are we prepared to do/offer for happiness or being able to make our own decisions.

I thought this was the topic for the season 4 of BtVS at first, but then I saw that it was actually a subforum from AtS. So this thread is referring to the Jasmine-Cordelia-Beast catastrophe of Angel.

There are some things I don't like about this season (insert what-Joss-did-to-Cordelia/Charisma-here), but overall I love it. I love the tone, love the action, the intensity. It pulls out all the stops emotionally.

I thought this was Buffy season 4 for a second. I nearly had a heart attack over The Chosen Slayer saying it was too dark XD.

Anyway, no, I don't think this season was too dark, I feel the darkness of it suited ANGEL very well. I found the season a tad boring at points though.

Season 5 was too dark for me, but maybe because I had a feeling they'd all end up dying like extras in a war movie anyway ;_;

Ats 4 was very dark but I didn't find it extremely depressing. I didn't like the Cordy storyline at all--actually I found it really upsetting. But overall, as a season, there were a lot of things I enjoyed.

I love it!!!! Angel season 4 is my favorite season!!!! Now, I'm a HUGE connor fan so this may somewhat factor into it, but I just found myself on the edge of my seat, shouting, gasping, jumping up etc.. so much more this season than any other. And it gave me lots and lots to think about, which is always cool.

Completely agreed, it's like my favorite season (though there are things I dislike but as whole.... this season is epic in its arc)

I love Angel, but this season is the worst of the whole verse including Buffy seasons for me. I wanted to get through this season so badly. I hated what they did with Cordelia. It just made me lose interest and the characters all fell apart.

I thought the character of Dawn was annoying..but then I see Connor. -___-

Only good part was, as mentioned, Faith!
