Thor - Possible Spoilers.

I loved this movie. Chris and Natalie were amazing I think everyone was. I was so excited to see how many people were in this movie. It made me smile a lot as well.

I actually didn't see the brother as to mischievous I saw him as having some problems. I actually felt bad for him at times.

I saw Thor during the special screenings a few days before it was released and I really enjoyed it. Chris Hemsworth was really good as Thor and I loved some of the witty banter he came out with. Asgard was stunningly visual even in 3D (which I'm not the biggest fan of) and I thought Anthony Hopkins was the perfect choice for Odin, he really did feel like the god of all gods in the Marvel universe.

Jeremy Renner's cameo appearance seemed to have be excited just because of another build up to The Avengers. Hawkeye is going to be another cool character with some more witty one liners.

Over all I really enjoyed Thor, I even made my mum sit through all the credits just for the end scene which didn't disappoint. Makes me curious for Captain America then of course The Avengers. So many hero ego's fighting together, bring it on I say! 😀

I just saw the non-3D version last night, and either Marvel rebooted the character since I read my last comic book back in the 70's (not inconceivable. Plenty of room for change in 40 years, after all) or the producers missed the character entirely. Having said that, it was an entertaining story, even if they did have THor come off like an egotistical superstar. I was expecting him to start giving bout autographs after his first appearance in Asgard.

I am looking forward to the Avengers, and more than a little curious as to how they're going to pull off all those "main" characters taking orders from Captain America. Incidentally, Captain America, despite what they're calling him here, was NOT the "First Avenger." The original Avenger team was Thor, Iron Man, Ant Man, who later changed his name to Giant Man, and still later, Goliath, the Wasp, and the Hulk, who left the team in Issue 2. Cap wasn't thawed out and recruited until Issue 3. Hawkeye started out as a superhero wannabe who was seduced over to the dark side by the Black Widow, who was originally a Russian Spy. Nick Fury started out as Sargent Fury, leader of the Howling Commandos, in World War 2, which would make him a VERY well preserved man in his middle 80's or early 90's. On top of that, Nick started out White)

I was expecting him to start giving bout autographs after his first appearance in Asgard.

Kinda, yeah, I concur.. it was not how I expected. I think they humanized the character more than should have or needed to be.

Ahh, I was wondering how that worked with Capt America. And do you really mind Samuel L Jackson as Fury? Thanks for more background, that was helpful.

No objection to Jackson, I was jusy pointing out some of the differences in the new story line from the way that it was originally written.

Hey, didja know that the scene after the credit was directed by Joss? 'Tis true!

Our Chris spoke to Stellan Skarsgard in Cannes yesterday and, while talking to him about Melancholia, Lars von Trier's exclusion from the festival and all manner of other things, he asked him about filming the sting for Thor, in which Skarsgard's Erik Selvig comes face-to-face with Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury.

And, intriguingly, Skarsgard told us that the segment wasn't directed by Thor's Kenneth Branagh, but by The Avengers' Joss Whedon. Hmm... Click here to hear Skarsgard's thoughts on it all, including what The Avengers might hold for him.

The Avengers feature Odin as the bad guy and his using the cosmic cube, the little doohickey that was at the end. So that scene may actually BE in the Avengers.
