This is edited slightly from the PM I sent Buffy, but I wanted you all to see.

I do get where [the administration is] coming from, and I appreciate that. I realize it must be hard for you, and I know you were only trying your best for the good of the forum. I really, really respect that, and appreciate it.

I stand by my conviction that this was treated unprofessionally. I do not, however, believe it was unintentionally handled that way.

Most importantly, I want you to know I'm not mad at Buffy or any other member of the staff. I do not bear any of you ill will. What I am upset about is actions, but I'm willing... and wanting... to still get along with the person behind those actions no matter what.

I guess... what I'm trying to say is... I respect you as a person, despite all this, and I want you to know that. I still love you and care for you, even though we have disagreements about actions that were taken, and I pledge to you to keep my frustrations only on actions and to move forward with the people to the best of my ability. My disagreement is solely in actions, and that doesn't have to affect how I treat and interact with people, nor should I let it.

Now I'm starting to ramble, I think, but I hope this makes some sort of sense.

I really do appreciate the work you put into this board, Buffy. Gratz to you.

I was (and still am after reading all this) quite confused by the ban. I actually thought that things were getting better around here after the period of fighting. In the week leading up to the ban I thought people had sorted out their issues and moved on cos it was pretty friendly, or maybe I was just in the wrong threads. Then we got banned and now it is like a warzone again and not such a great place to be.

I'd just like to re-iterate from the other thread that I'm sorry that anyone was hurt by this. That was never my intention. Yes, I was prepared for some people to be angry. But I thought that once we were all back here together they would understand what it all was for and see the bigger picture. But I didn't anticipate hurt feelings, and I do feel very bad about that.

What you all think of me doesn't matter (but please don't blame the mods as none of this is their fault). If you treat each other better as a result of this, then that's all I ever wanted anyway.

While I perfectly accept all this, know that it does come a little late for some. And for those people, that last line comes off as playing the martyr. You can't win I know, but this won't fix everything. I think all of us just need to step up and try united to get BB as great as it can be, which of course is what you are trying to do all along, but its us now who have to take that step.

We all want this place to be friendly, so a truce needs to be called and we need to move on.

Okay... I've come up with a theory... Last time I took a break from the boards... I came back on April 1st... Chaos... I took a recent break from the boards to organise moving house etc, I come back and.... CHAOS! So basically, I have come to realise that the boards cannot live without me (and no it is not me being conceited because I've had some vodka... Honest!)

So I pledge not to leave again. I promise you all. For the good of the boards...

I'm going to start this by saying that I've only read up to page 3.

I seem to be in the (very small) minority that doesn't have a problem with what was done. I've seen "both sides". I'm friends, on AND off the board, with many of the members what were "taking a break". I'm in a house with many others.

People that seem to believe that there was no problem, and that everyone that "took a break" were friendly people seem to have no eyesight.

There were whole groups of people dedicated to complaining about "Mr. Meanie". Are you serious? People on here are upset that Buffy seems to be treating them like children. You were acting like children!

I've seen firsthand the efforts the moderators/administrators have had to go to to stop people from picking at each other. I probably would have come to the same conclusion that was made.

My applauds to the governing body of this board. I'm sorry some of the members of this board don't seem to understand the work you put into this.

Also I don't think trouble shooting with paticular members would do any good, also this isn't a job for us, this is suposed to be a fun place for us to, we can be going through every single thing with every single person. Thats just not practical.

Now that sounds pretty scary to me. Are you saying the mods won't enforce the rules because it would take too much time to punish those who actually break them? I seriously hope I misunderstood what you mean because it's just common sense that when there's an issue with someone, you take it up with THEM.

I also find it strange that you talk like being mod is just supposed to be a bit of fun. Because... it's not. I don't mean the mods can't enjoy their time on the boards (they should) but I'm sure Buffy didn't force you to become a mod. When you voluntarily chose to do so, you took on a responsibility.

Difference is you weren't so apologetic. Even the tiniest acceptance of responsibility over the execution of this plan is enough to see your 'troubled' 30 members do what it takes to turn this board around and actually 'move on'.

I'd almost let this go if you didn't fight so hard for peoples freedom to 'disagree' with posts. Noones stopping anyone from having their say. It doesn't say 'i hate you' it says I disagree.

That is bullying, my friend. You accuse her of "stirring the pot" instead of keeping silent with her feelings, since they don't match yours. How come none of the other people still posting were "stirring the pot"? And you say she doesn't recognize the issue at hand. Just because she doesn't see it the same way as you, doesn't mean she doesn't recognize it.

After all this if you thought I was bullying you would have done something about it. I wasn't, I was disagreeing. Why? Because at this stage of the discussion, yet again accusing us of just being little children is belittling and, hey, now that you mention it, bullying. I suppose it doesn't count because there are so many of us. Was it a personal attack on her character or was it a disagreement with the post? No, i dont actually think you thought I was bullying, I think someone just called you out on some more hypocrisy.

Let me clarify then...stirring the pot, saying something provocative. Thats a comment, not bullying her into silence. I even explained (which you edited out of my quote) the reason why I thought she was stirring the pot. I'm not even saying that was her deliberate intention, but at this stage in the discussion its a legitimate reason to disagree with her comments. You can twist my words all you like but i'm not going to be made out to be a bully just so you can prove your point.

Oh I didn't edit it out, I just didn't quote the part I didn't have a problem with. But THAT part was all you needed to say to disagree with her.

But I still wonder why her comments were so provocative, when the other people's comments weren't?

And you want to talk about twisting words, lol...read this thread lol. Also, I don't need to make you into a bully to prove my point. But that doesn't make it any less fair that only one side is supposedly allowed to post in this thread.

I guess you missed the point about stirring the pot at this stage in the discussion. The fact that it is well discussed is sorta the point. The reason I disagreed at this stage is for that very reason. In fact, I haven't disagreed with anyone else in this thread since most of it is about people getting things off their chest, you included.

And yes, I only need a couple words if need be to disagree with someone, assuming we are talking about 'I disagree' and not an in depth review into why I am trying to bully someone! Being told were all acting like children is inferring quite clearly that our opinions don't mean anything until we mature. It's disrespectful... which this whole thread reaks of on both sides so i'm not holding that against her, im disagreeing with it. The reason half the people are continuing is because you never offered any semblance of an apology, until recently. And then LG comes and stiiiiiirs the pot! ...were all childish acting irrationally again!

Anyway, im done defending a simple 1 line comment. I've done my part to try and get the board moving again, all I do is butt heads with people who take a post (similar to this) and view it as a personal attack, and we start all over again. As far as I can tell, everyone seems pretty chill on the actual boards.

Like it or not, Buffy is the boss. If her rules are that you must kill a goat and videotape yourself drinking the blood to be able to join, thats her prerogative. She, however, did ask that people stop bickering and stop fighting. People didn't do that so it was decided that people needed to take a break.

And whoever commented that people who had nothing to do with what was going on were banned:

While I don't know everyone that "took a break", I do know that there were members causing problems, to the point that truly innocent members quit coming here. As a result, it was decided that people needed to step away and do something constructive, or just to relax. Why is that such a big deal? Even if they really did not have anything to do with what was going on, why couldnt they just accept a break and do something else? Like Buffy said, it was just three days and it was for the benefit of the boards.
