I don't think I've seen such thread so I'm creating one!

I was listening to musics from Buffy score while studying and I thought it was a pity there was no thread to talk about the musics of the Buffyverse (I've seen a lot of musical thread but none specifically about the music).

What are your favourite songs from the Buffy soundtracks/scores?

What do you have to say?
Express yourself!:tongue3:

I personnaly adore most of the song. Can you imagine Faith and Buffy's fight without Faith's end music? Chosen without "The final battle"? The Zeppo without "Dead guys with bombs"? Buffy's death without "Sacrifice"?

I like a lot of the Bronze music. Chinese Burn by Curve when Buffy and Faith dance during season 3... Both Sarah McLachlan songs (Full of Grace and Prayer of St. Francis) which were the songs at the very end of season 2 and the very end of season 6... The song 'Blue' in Conversations with dead people... Also, the Michelle Branch performance in Tabula Rasa. And Four Star Mary and T.H.C. are amazing.

I love the scores as well. Buffy wouldn't have been as powerful without them.

Ooooh, it took me ages to find out that the song of Buffy and Faith dance was Chinese Curve!

I also like Sugar Water from Cibo Matto, I feel like a When-she-was-bad-Buffy when listening to it!

Sugar Water has to have one of the catchiest chorus's ever
I like Wild horses by the sundays. The one Angel and Buffy are dacing to in "The prom". Even if I don't like them dancing... 😀

That's a good one too! Just remembered 'Wild Horses' in The Prom. Perfect choice for that scene. And season 4, 'Lucky' by Bif Naked. Love that song as well. Ooooh! And 'Transylvanian concubine'. I could list more if I took my Zune out lol.

I bought The Buffy Soundtrack a couple mos ago and have been listening to it constantly. Now I need to get Radio Sunnydale, UK version.

The score to The Gift is a-mazing!!

But my favorite Buffy music moment is Aimee Mann performing Pavlov's Bell in "Sleeper". Love it when Spike & the female vamp fall off the balcony and ruin the song. And Aimee's line: "Man, I hate playing vampire towns." Classic.

I've got a thread around here somewhere with links to videos from a lot of the Buffy Soundtrack tracks.

My Favorite Songs From The Score Are:

- Remembering Jenny (From ''Passion'')

- Moment Of Happiness (From ''Innocence'')

- Twice The Fool (From ''Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered'')

- Loneliness Of Six (From ''Lover's Walk'')

- Magic Snow Music (From ''Amends'')

- From The Grave (From ''This Year's Girl'')

- Sacrifice (Alternate Version, From ''The Gift'')

My Favorite Songs From The Album:

- I Quit

- Lucky

- Already Met You

- It Doesn't Matter

- Wild Horses

- Pain (Slayer Mix)

- Charge

- Close Your Eyes (Buffy/Angel Love Theme)

Buffy Once More With Feeling

- All The Songs 🙂

Angel Score:

- Theme Song

- Princess Cordelia

- LA Song ( by Christian Kane)

- Lady Marmalade ( by Andy Hallett )

- A Place Called Home (by Kim Richey)

Sacrifice, Loneliness of Six, and (of course) Close Your Eyes are my top favorites.

I also really, really love that "menacing" type song that was played during some of Connor/Cordy's scenes in ANGEL S4 and earlier in the series in the episode Billy when Wesley is searching for Fred in the hotel hallway; unfortunately, I can't find it to listen to it in it's entirety!

I love the score. It's nice to see that others enjoy it, too. 🙂 I'm wondering if the Angel score is just as good...

Listening to the score has also made me more aware of the songs when they're used in a show. Like in a season two episode, I think it Passions, different versions of "Remembering Jenny" are played throughout the episode. It's kinda cool to notice and makes the episode so much sadder.

I pretty much just listen to film scores, so this is right up my alley. 🙂

I think that sometimes it could go a bit too far during the action sequences, but the gentler, more emotional moments of the shows were handled beautifully by the different composers.

Giles and Jenny's theme, Angel's farewell theme for season 3, and the 'Magic Snow Music' from Amends are favorites of mine. My favorite use of the Giles/Jenny theme is when Willow and Buffy get the phone call about Jenny's death, with Angelus smiling outside the house. 'Remembering Jenny' features Anthony Head singing.

ANGEL, in its first two seasons had not only the "I'm Game" theme that opened and closed 'City Of', but also had this dark, but optimistic two-note theme that would play over those hyper-kinetic shots of Los Angeles. Those were simply awesome. The many variants of Darla's theme throughout season 2 on piano, the creepy off-kilter piano solo from 'Inside Out', the tragedy of 'Hero'...just amazing stuff.

The Buffy theme song made its way into ANGEL, not only in the title theme (but slower, performed on the cello), but if you watch the season 3 episode "Offspring", just before Darla comes into the hotel the group is sitting around talking about prophecies, specifically the Shanshu prophecy and the question was asked of what if Angel turned human.

When Angel hears Fred ask if it meant that it could happen some day, the camera goes in for a close up on him as he stands outside, listening in on the talk and if you listen closely you can hear the first four notes of the Buffy theme song, right there in the score. I think of it as a reference to "I Will Remember You", when Angel was human for a day and spent it with Buffy.

I recently bought my first mp3 player. So I have been putting together a play list from Buffy. Thanks to this thread I just found and bought the soundtrack. I have the OMWF soundtrack, and a few of the individual songs from episodes. Like Goodbye to you from Michelle Branch, one from Allison Krauss, from Bad Girl, and the Sarah McLachan one's. It has been a lot of fun finding songs I enjoy from the show.

I recently bought the BTVS Score as well, I love it.

My favourite song at the moment is Sugar Water by Cibi Matto. They were in the episode When She Was Bad.

I love the music Sacrifice in The Gift. Makes me teary listening to it.

Sacrifice does the same thing to me. I can see the whole scene in my head.
I listen to the scores a lot when I'm studying. It's awesome; they don't distract me because there's no lyrics. I've had to stop, though, because the ones I have, specifically "Massacre", are making me want to watch Season 2 and I'm on S6 right now in my rewatch 😛

After having and listening to the soundtrack for a few days now. I can officially say it is pretty darn good. I am enjoying it a great deal. It makes me want to go back and watch the shows just to listen to the music, and see what it going on during the scene.
