Don't know if this is the exact right place but I was wondering if anyone else has been watching the new show The Chicago Code?
Tim Minear has written an episode and is the executive producer.

Here is the summary
"Detective Jarek Wysocki, one of Chicago's toughest cops, struggles to clean up the town's violence and corruption."

Short I know sorry I used it from IMBD. It has some nice stars in it.

Yes, I've been watching it, and I love it!! Jennifer Beals + Chicago (my hometown) + gritty cop show = awesomeness! I'm surprised how much I'm loving the Alderman Gibbons character, as in love to hate kind of thing lol.

And is Matt Lauria as Caleb Evers (Wysocki's partner) cute or what? 🙂

I am really loving it as well! I am really liking Jennifer Beals haven't seen her in to much besides flashdance. Your from Chicago very cool. My aunt went on vacation there and said it was such a beautiful city.

I like him as well yet hate him like you said.

I LOVE Matt Lauria from FNL he is the reason I originally gave this a shot he is so cute! He is really doing this role very well.

I am loving Wysocki as well I wanted to see his older show brotherhood. That man can run very fast random I know but I was like he runs fast during one scene.

Wasn't it so upsetting
When her partner well more like son in a way got shot? The show got me emotional early on. I like when a show does that.

Yes, really sad. Her reaction was so great. I love that she's playing this steely, kick-ass character, yet vulnerable too. Are you 'shipping Teresa & Jarek yet LOL?

Oh, and I didn't realize that Tim Minear was associated with the Chicago Code- what's his role in all this?

I didn't know Tim was writing for that show... Very cool. 😀 I have been meaning to watch, since I do love Jennifer Beals, but I keep forgetting. Bluh.

I bet you will like it. I was going to watch The L Word eventually it has quite a few people I like. I know Jennifer was in that.

Yes I already am I think it was finalized in the bomb episode when she made that nice comment and he did that look yep I was sold. You liking them?

How do you feel about his niece and her partner?
I kind of agreed with Jarek about him getting her in trouble. I am like stay safe please it would break Jarek if he lost her.

Tim wrote the bomb episode can't remember the name but I saw his name and was like I need to check this out. As of now on IMBD it has him listed as executive producer.

She was amazing in "The L Word". That's when I became a fan of hers. 😀

Not quite sold on them yet, but it looks like there's a lot yet to come. This has possible future spoilers: http://www.givememyremote.com/remot...illiams-tease-vonda-and-isaac-getting-closer/

You know, I totally missed The L Word, I don't think I had that network when it was on. I'll have to catch it on DVD at some point (add it to my very, very long list!).

Who killed Jenny
Yep I see this on sale sometimes I will have to give it a shot I like Jennifer, Katherine and Mia.

Fox cancels Chicago Code

I'm already having a crappy day, and Fox goes and screws it all to hell yet again!

Chicago Code Canceled: Fox Scraps Crime Drama After One Season
After only one season, FOX has decided to cancel "The Chicago Code," a crime drama starring Jennifer Beals that was filmed in the Windy City.

On Tuesday, show creator Shawn Ryan tweeted about the cancelation, adding that "Fox suits loved the show, but have a business to run." Ryan went on to thank viewers and fans of the show for their support.

HitFix's Alan Sepinwall reports that ratings for the show, which was filmed locally, "had never been especially strong." Also, FOX has several pilots in development including "Alcatraz," which will be produced by JJ Abrams, a "Bones" spinoff called "The Finder" and "The New Girl," starring Zooey Deschanel.

"More than most series made on Chicago's streets, 'The Chicago Code' attempted to capture the culture of the city, dropping references to local history and filming in areas both prominent and obscure," the Chicago Sun-Times reported Wednesday. "Its main characters "” a roguish cop (Jason Clarke), his book-smart partner (Matt Lauria), a powerful alderman (Delroy Lindo) and a reform-minded police chief (Jennifer Beals) "” were ever aware of Chicago's climate of corruption."

FOX also got rid of "Traffic Light"; "Lie To Me"; "Breaking In"; and "The Human Target."

Ryan, a Rockford, Ill. native, tweeted that the final two episodes of "The Chicago Code" will air the next two Mondays. He also said viewers will find the finale "satisfying."

Now I'm seriously depressed. I loved this show.

Now I'm seriously depressed. I loved this show.
My mom just told me before I got on here. We are both very upset about this. I am mixed with sadness and anger because I see so many shows that aren't good and then the good ones just don't make it. That is why I have been waiting until so many episodes in to start some shows.
Breaking in got cancelled as well. Wait to go fox.

Looks like they cancelled four shows altogether. This was the only one of those I watched. Seriously disappointing. I do have catch-up to do (I'm 2 episodes behind) & they did say that they will air the last 2 eps at their regular time. At least we get that.

I saw the rest just now Lie to me, Traffic Light and Human Target were the others. I only cared about The Chicago Code and breaking in but Lie to me seemed ok.

It is disappointing mainly because the story is heating up. (I would love to hear what you think when you catch up) Plus on this weeks preview they advertised it as 2 part season finale. Like you said at least we get that.

I just heard about this. Every time I get into a show on Fox, it gets cancelled.
Michael was doing great on Breaking in I actually enjoyed Christian and most of the cast.
Tell me about it that is why I am not going to watch until they are seasons in lol. I say this now but watch they will suck me back in. All I can say is a few of my favorite shows were from Fox and they were cancelled.

I will probably get caught up this week so I'll let you know what I think! Seriously, so far there hasn't been a bad episode. Some are better than others I think. In some ways the series seems to be a little all over the place; but for me, it reminds me of Chicago which is why I love it! I just think one reason for the cancellation is that people are obsessed with the coasts (LA or NY). Yeah, I'm a little bitter.

prophecygrrl agrees: Do you watch The Good Wife? It's set in Chicago and it's awesome!

I've seen bits & pieces and I did like it.

I'm watching the ep Bathouse and Hinky Dink right now via On Demand. I almost cried when I heard the intro music!

I can't wait. Your right every episode has been good some better but yes not a bad one. I thought it was all over the place but look at what they are dealing with lol it is to be expected.
I agree it seems like people like the coasts more I prefer Chicago or Texas places like that for my shows.

Ok so I just watched Black Sox- wow that was incredible! Jarek's struggle & decisions at the end were sad. And I'm afraid for Teresa- I think Alderman Gibbons has it out for her. I wasn't sure how much I liked Vonda & Isaac but after this last ep I dig them a lot.

I felt so bad for him. I forgot to tell you I loved when we finally saw how Jarek found his brother and his struggle with the undercover situations.
I am not sure I actually don't really like them which is weird but I think it is more of Isaac than Vonda. I felt so bad for her though I mean it has to suck to loose a parent and then when you have them on a pedestal it makes it even harder.

I was wondering about Jarek and his gf. He said
you get attached to the victims. I was thinking maybe his gf/ex fiancée was attacked herself.
I don't know what made me think it I just did.

I am glad you feel the same way I am very worried about Teresa. Alderman scares me for the fact of at times he really does do good yet he is bad.

Yes, that was really moving. I am so worried for Liam!

Hmm, that's interesting, I hadn't thought of that. I don't particularly like his girlfriend, she falls flat for me. I think that's kind of the point. The ex-wife is a more interesting character, but I'd love to see a Jarek/Teresa 'ship.

Definitely the best character on the show.
