Does anyone else feel tired all the time? I feel constantly lethargic and dont know how to combat it! I take iron tablets but it doesnt seem to help

Any ideas?

Make sure you're drinking enough water, as that can help. I'm an insomniac so I often feel tired but getting some fresh air during the day and drinking plenty of water helps

I do, but it's due to my anemia... which I need to do more to correct... like actually take the iron supplements I've got.

Yup I could sleep anywhere anytime at the moment but I have an underactive thyroid. Perhaps you should mention it to the doc and have a check up to ensure it's just sleep/water/iron that you need 🙂

I'm tired all the time, but I think it's mostly because I have 2 children both under the age of 5. Chasing them around and them waking me up at 6:00 AM every morning really puts me off my game. I know my brother has diabetes, he's not overweight or anything, and before he was diagnosed he was always tired, and always thristy. Maybe you should get your glucose level checked.

I hear yas, My Abs gets me up at 5am everyday :(
Thanks everyone, I am diabetic currently (been told it's borderline now woo!) but despite being completely unaccepting at first I thought I was totally managing it now, so my doctor said I should feel completely healthy

I second making sure you're drinking enough water. Also, taking a vitamin D supplement can help, as can eating more protein. 😉

I get tired sometimes. What does help is if you try to get yourself going and do something. My mom says that's why I get tired... because I'm not doing anything. So I'm getting tired from not doing anything (sometimes.) That's not always the reason.

This is so very very true. There are two types of days off for me:

1.) Wake up at 7am, watch movies, tv & hang out on the internet till 10am. Feel tired. Refuse to get out of bed till 1. Have a nap at lunchtime.

2.) Bound out of bed at 7am, open all the windows and blinds in the house. Have a shower and get dressed. Active and awake all day.

Food is a massive massive part of how active I feel. Stay away from your nasty processed and fast food. Spend a week eating well and staying away from coffee / coke and just see the massive difference! (Caffeine causes the dramatic up's and down's and can be a disaster for tiredness).

If you're looking after yourself and doing everything right and you still feel terrible then go to your GP. I have a family member that has intense chronic fatigue and although she does everything she can to stay healthy, some days the doctor tells her to just sleep!

caitaintdead I drink soda so I have the ups and downs.

I find when I do the dishes or just do something, I feel a little better.😀 But sometimes, I'm just so tired that nothing works.

I'd agree that sometimes a change of activity can help, particularly if that change takes you outside- sometimes on a Sunday afternoon if I'm reading for a while I can start to feel sleepy but taking the rubbish out or doing some housework perks me up a bit.

Other times I just need a catnap to refresh myself so I lie down with the radio on, which gives me about 15-30 minutes' rest without going into a deep sleep.

I feel tired a lot of the time... even if I get an amazing rest. I especially feel tired when I have to work.
