TMNT and Buffy

I just bought TMNT yesterday and was watching it just now. Have not finished it yet, but wanted to come post a few thoughts. First of all, reminded me some of Buffy. Portals, demons etc. And having SMG play April and hearing her voice made me 100% certain that Buffy would work as a cartoon on tv. It just felt familiar, and well, nice. I know I have already said this. But with this type of animation, I really think Buffy could do pretty well if Joss could find the right time slot. I also know he's tried but I think maybe it's time to try again! The animation looks pretty real and the characters, being ones we know already and love, I think they could pull it off. Gosh I get so excited thinking about it as if it is going to happen. I just wish it could, would.

Anyone else see TMNT and have kind of the same feeling?
 
I most strongly agree. With the advances in special effects and animation available today (look at the Lord of the Rings series, 300, and I don't know how many more), an animated Buffy, Angel, Spike, Faith, or whatever character would be really great as an animated movie, either standalone or as a new series. There are still any number of stories waiting to be told in the Buffy Verse, and animation would most certainly be a viable way to present them. The actors could supply the voices of their old characters or, if they weren't available, voice standins could be used in the same way Buffy's voice was supplied by someone else in the video game, and the recordings could even be done at the actors' convenience. Joss has said that Season 8 has allowed him to do things with Buffy that his budget couldn't allow in live action, and the same would apply to animation. The world, or quite literally the universe, would be wide open for an animated Buffy. (Eat your heart out, Sarah!)
 
that would be SO awesome! i got really excited reading these posts haha. animated buffy would totally make my year. i'm gonna grab tmnt today i can't wait to see it.
 
I didn't see TMNT but the animation and the style they use for it looks pretty smooth.

I don't think I would really want to see Buffy as an animated series because if it was a flop then it would lose a lot of fan base. However, if they did do an animated series, this stlye looks better than the stlye they used for "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" cartoon series!
 
I would love to see an animated Buffy but Im not 100% sure on it. And I wouldn't be sure about a CGI animated show, but a cartoon would be cool.

I loved the art for the cartoon, but I did think it looked a little childish,I think it would have worked better as a comic, although that is of course not really a valid opinion cuz I haven't seen the animated show.
 
Me I personally don't like Buffy as a cartoon. Because more than likely to make Buffy into a cartoon they'd REALLY have to dumb it down to make the show suitable for children and Buffy isn't meant for children and that's more than likely what they'll do. You wouldn't really see any blood/violence that you saw on the television show. They wouldn't even be able to say "Damnit." Like Giles sometimes does. No sex cause it's a cartoon or even mention of sex. It just wouldn't be authentic to me. I mean even the comics seem to be a little more adult than the television show cause he doesn't have the same censor rules of the FCC. Like Dawn saying F***ing, when she stepped on Amy. Even though it was asterisks out you still knew what she was saying lol. Or Dawn losing her virginity to the thricewise, they couldn't talk about that on a cartoon

I'd like to see another Buffy videogame though
