To all those folk who avoid spoilers

I take it they dislike the thought of reading the ending pages of a book, should I get bored by the tenth page I may turn to see how the story ends, just to see if I want to keep reading the story. Though I do admit I like writing stories, and in those stories ..... knowing the end is normal, for me.

What do you prefer regarding knowing how a tale ends?
 
Yeah, I sometimes read the end of a book to see if i want to continue... particularly if the middle of the book ends up boring me... If a book is so weak it won't survive knowing how it ends, it's not much of a book.

I am someone who rereads and re-watches... things that are worth it. Some books I've read repeatedly. I've seen BtVS over and over... and though I do still sometimes notice new things, on the whole, I already know how it all ends... but i re-watch because it is that good.

A good book needs to be about more than just the 'money shot'.

As long as you do not expect another result as that might indicate something else!
I hate spoilers! I have found the Survivor fandom to be cautious about spoilers. With any other show that aired on the east coast first, I was spoiled as soon as I went online. But with Survivor - the majority of the time I can avoid spoilers because there seems to be some unspoker rule about no spoilers within 72 hours of airing. I will sometimes get US spoilers when I wait until the weekend to watch, but am yet to accidently get AU spoilers this season. In saying that, I am cautious after I'm a Celeb and other reality tv was ruined more than once for me, but I can come on some spaces online and know I will be spoiler free regardless of fandom. Thats nice, and much appreciated 😀

In terms of books, I am currently avoiding spoilers as I work my way slowly through the various fairies. I don't want to know if they are happily ever after, or I lose the emotion. When I re-read/re-watch I am generally chasing the emotion that I felt the first time. So to experience it spoiler free is important to me (even if I find it predictable, I'd still rather not be spoiled.)
 
I love spoilers, mainly because I'm an impatient person. I don't like to wait for anything....ever. That's why I enjoy binge watching shows online. I want it all now!
 
Oh @November, hate spoilers do you, if after watching 3000 episodes of LOST, if you had seen a spoiler of its final episode would you have watched more of it?

Actually yes. I lost interest when it was airing because it wasnt woo woo spiritual sci fi fantasy enough for me...had, I seen the end I would have kept interested. Hence the rewatch once I knew how it ended ha.

Last night I wanted to know if the lady on Deal or no Deal took the deal, so I checked how long was left in the episode. The fact there was about 4 minutes left told me she took the deal, 2 minutes before she did. And then it was a bad deal lol.

It depends on how engaged I am with whatever or how much value the piece of media puts on the narrative vs the experience.

If I’m really into something then I probably won’t look up a Wikipedia synopsis, but if I’m sort of just going through the motions (like a certain slayer), I don’t mind googling the end.

I will say I’m a lot less interested in previews or trailers than I was in years past. I just like being pleasantly surprised when something is good
