To Cangels

Just wondering. Do Cangels (Cordelia/Angel Shippers) mostly support Spuffy (Spike/Buffy)?
 
Yeah I'm a Spuffy and Cangel too. I didn't really like Bangel at all. I'm actually not a big fan of Angel the character unless he was interacting with Cordy...
 
I did happen to like the Angel/Cordelia relationship. Not because I totally despise Angel and hated his and Buffy's relationship, or because I'm a hardcorde Spuffy shipper. I like their relationship because it just seemed real. A relationship that never really got started, but had great beginnings. It had some emotion behind it, like raising Connor... actual real life stuff besides demons.
 
No I HATE Spuffy. It's gross. But Cangel is a beautiful relationship. I'm not one of those people who loves Cangel and Spuffy just because they don't want Buffy and Angel together.

I actually like the Cangel and Bangel relationships in their own rights but Spuffy made me hate the series enough to give away all my Buffy dvd's and stop watching the show. It ruined something I loved so ya I definitely hate it!

I hated Spuffy after I saw the whole series... but I don't think my hate goes that deep.

But I agree some people like both (Spuffy and Cangel) because they wanted Angel and Buffy not together.
 
I don't think that C/A shippers necessarily support B/S since the premise of B/S is totally different. While C/A grounds in long-term friendship, loyalty and trust, B/S basically is the opposite, especially from Buffys PoV in S6. Since it also has an abusive subtext I think a lot of people who feel drawn to the intimacy and openess of C/A probably rather feel disgusted by B/S. I don't want to generalize that but I found this often the case.

B/S shippers and C/A shippers get very well along though lol. Since the other ship keeps Buffy and Angel apart, we mostly agree and make formidable Bangle smashers 😉
 
Speaking of smashers, our fandom has invented its own language.

Bangle = purposely mispelling Bangel in effort to be funny/rude.
A/C = bad name for Cangel meaning there was no heat/chemistry.
Bike = bad name for Spuffy and the meaning is dirty.
Are there any others?

Hm I have never heard these too lol, but realized I did the Bangle thing .. although it was a typo actually. Amongst C/A shippers Cangel is an absolute no-go because it's too similar to Bangel. I also heard AnCor which I personally find very intriguing because of the associations that come with it.
 
I'm a Cangel and a Spuffy shipper. I don't know, it's not that I don't like Buffy and Angel together ... I just find their relationships with the other partners much more appealing and interesting. Grant it, I used to be a HUGE Bangel and absolutely despised Buffy and Spike together ... but, I don't know, now I just find them so much more interesting.
 
im a total cangel fan and hate spuffy...but, my hatred of spuffy has nothing to with cangel. i just dont like who buffy became after season 3. spike didnt deserve to deal with that
 
I liked Cordy and Angel together.

I'm not a huge fan of Spike and Buffy....but they did have their moments.

I'm a 100% die hard Angel and Buffy fan though....I absolutely loved those two together. : grin :
 
Okay so maybe the names aren''t the best but I do like the relationships. Cangel was great because it grew from nothing. In BtVS Cordy had a crush on Angel but he loved Buffy. Then when Angel became evil Cordy's crush went away. In AtS they started out as people that knew each other and then they grew into friends. Pretty soon, they became best friends. After that their friendship became something stronger and they fell in love. The bad thing is, they never formed a relationship. Spuffy is good because it's two mortal enemies falling in love. They did a whole turnaround with that one. These two ships are great because they arent your average Love at First Sight thing. That's why I like them. It's not because I hate Bangel.
