This is one of the worse eps of all time...whoever wrote this should've never been writing at all...

I'm sorry, but I really thought this was a crap episode, especially the writing!
 
the ep wasnt bad or really good. it was so so in my opinion. but it did have some impressive stunts and some good dialoge. but i wouldnt say Caleb is ozzing with charizma. hopefully Buffy will kill him!

Really, Allycat? I can't believe you didn't like it that much. I agree with soulgasm that Caleb is a hella creepy and charismatic villain, his words make me shudder.
 
There's always a first for something; I agree with Soulgasm. I have been entirely disappointed in this Season, but it's about to get great again. Shoot, we got Faith back which is fireworks in my heart (if only Oz were...), and now Caleb... Damn, I hated Caleb when I first watched the episode; his accent made me twitch, the stupid preacher dressup was driving me crazy, and I couldn't follow what he was saying. I thought Faith was wayyy better on Angel.

But, it only took me one more viewing of it to completely fall in love. Caleb really is hella ill (oh god...). Holy crap, he's so freaking evil! I mean, I gotta give him props just for throwing Spike across the room. And Xander, love the guy, but at least something happened to him already! I'm tired of him just being the background guy who says these great speeches and then is just forgotten in the next ep. No more, dangit. And Faith, sweet Faith, I'm sorry I neglected to see you glow in this episode. "Are you the bad slayer now?... Am I the good slayer now?"

The season had its stand-alone good episodes (CWDP, Selfless, etc.), but it's pulling itself together here finally.
 
I thought the episode is great and Drew Goddard (who wrote it) is one of Buffy's best writers. He did "Selfless", "CWDP", "Never Leave Me", and "Lies My Parents Told Me".

Who, ho, ho ... there was one bright side on this ep .... Caleb, the ep may be crap, but Caleb really IS hella ill (me too :S)

Well, I enjoyed the episode greatly. I love a villain that doesn't need prosthetic makeup and is crazy enough to scare you without screaming and foaming at the mouth. (It also removed any lingering suspicions I might have had that the Watchers Council building was blown up by a splinter group of the IRA just because it was there.)

Is it my favorite of the season? Don't know, but it was up there. Fear, violence, pathos, and humor, too. (Loved Faith and Spike in the basement talking behind Buffy's back. And Andrew's vision of Faith killing Mr. Spock. "Not a Vulcan, Andrew, a vulcanologist!")
 
faith vs. spock...almost killed me....lol...just the obsurdity and creativity to think of something like that...

did yall catch his vulcan sleep grip...it didn't work...
