Tom Hardy's new DC Comics gig

He rumored it some time ago, and from his vague description and gave a vague description of the tone, but now it's confirmed. Variety is reporting that:

Tom Hardy is on board to produce and possibly star in New Line’s adaptation of the Vertigo comic book “100 Bullets.”

Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso’s acclaimed comic follows a man who presents various people with a gun, the identity of the person who ruined their lives and a hundred rounds of untraceable ammunition. Plot details are currently being kept under wraps.

Chris Borrelli penned the script. Geoff Johns and Adam Schlagman are overseeing the project for DC Comics, while Richard Brener, Walter Hamada and Dave Neustadter are working for New Line.

There was talk in the past of it being anthology stories appearing both on Netflix and in the theaters. 100 Bullets has a large enough mythology that it actually could play both on TV and the movies. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Don't know much about the background to this. Find Tom Handy overrated, but in the right roles he can be good so will wait and see on this one.
