I've heard people say all the time that Buffy and Angel have tongue in cheek humour. What does this expression mean anyway??😛 just wondering.

Yep, an humor tongue in cheek is an humor with lots of irony, the meaning is hidden. It's often used to be mean or to denounce thing without being stop by censorship.
Oh & gosh yep, BtVS is very tongue in cheek, I haven't notice a lot, coz I watched it translated & often the translation erase the effect of irony. But for the season 7 that I saw in english I notice lots of irony, & i'm far to got it all, i'm sure there r plenty of things i didn't understand.

Well, I guess there is by all your definitions. Poor Frenchy Faith, you have synchronised-tv, right? I have seen this one scene from Becoming in French it was bloody aweful!

You guys seem to pretty much have it nailed.

I'm constantly amazed at how good you guys whose first language isn't English are (esp. Aussies and Americans 😉 - that was tongue-in-cheek btw). Makes me feel quite ashamed of my meagre language skills...
