I think 7 was enough. I don't think it got 'bad' towards the end, at all, I'm just glad they went out with bang before it did start to go downhill. Eleven or twelve series would have been too much, in my opinion. I don't think there's much more they could have done, without becoming ridiculous.
Have you watched Angel then? I haven't seen all of it but I don't think its a waste of time, (from what I saw) its a very good show in its own right 🙂

What does Angel being on have to do with Buffy ending at all? I'm not seeing a connection there. It's not like someone said, "Well, we don't need to do any more Buffy because two of these shows is too much." They were on different networks, and had both been running together for four years. Buffy ended as a result of the same things that end most shows. People eventually move on. Sometimes it's the cast. Sometimes it's the network that pulls the plug. Sometimes it's a creative decision from behind the scenes. It happens to every show eventually. I think Buffy probably could have cranked out a couple more good seasons, yes, but it wasn't my decision to make and it certainly had nothing to do with Angel.

As much as I miss the show and the characters, I think that it was better that they ended when they did. We can remem ber Buffy, Spike, Willow, Giles, and all the rest at their best. I don't think that the show was on a downhill slide at that time, but it most certainly would have come sooner or later. I prefer that they went out winners.

I saw season two of Angel, it was kind of lame.
Consideting how Cordelia Chase was one of the main stars O___O

Besides the fact that Anya and Spike both died.
Too bad only some of them got to see the end.
The season finale really didn't do it for me though.
I expected more out of it.

I think it was best like everyone else that they ended Buffy at season 7. It felt right to say goodbye as you couldn't have them carry on and trying to keep fresh new ideas flowing. As for Angel they didn't waste all their time with it, if anything that was the show that ended too soon. It was just about peaking to the top of its game and could have had another season at least.

I seem to recall that Sarah was feeling fairly done with Buffy. A Buffy-less "BtVS" wouldn't excactly be the show we were loving.

I'm sure the writers could've made a few more seasons. If I can think up new ideas then I'm sure they could come up with much better. But alas I do feel that 7 is right. Look at The X Files. That was a brilliant show and it just got so boring and repetitive towards the end. I'm glad Buffy went out on a high when it still mattered and was still amazing rather than it plough itself into total farce [cough Smallville].

I think Buffy on TV ended well and the comic book of Season 8 is very good. However Angel should have carried on because i hated how we never got to see the final battle end. Though we do have Angel After the Fall which i havent started reading yet but i bet its good.

They should have went for 10 seasons. That seems like a good number, and i bet Joss could have kept the same high quality writing going.
I think 10 seasons would have been way too many. They would have had got stuck with a repetitive storyline. Buffy and co. would find partners, something awful would happen and then they would go and find someone else etc. I just don't think there was enough room for another 3 season worth of things to happen to keep the story as good as it was. It would have ended up like The X Files; very confusing in order to kick up new plots and probably end up tarnishing the previous ones!
