I know we already have a thread for favorite ships, so this thread is for relationships in general.

- Xander/Willow: "Nobody's changing their minds. Period." "Excuse me? Who made you the boss of the group?" "You did" "You said 'Willow should be boss'" "And then you said 'let's vote', and it was unanimous" "And you made her that little plaque that said 'BOSS OF US', and you put little sparkles on it..."
- Buffy/Dawn: "Come on. Who's the man?" "You are. A very short, annoying man".
- Buffy/Xander: "You're a terrible watcher" "I'm not a watcher" "Well, clearly"
- Buffy/Willow: "Well, I do sort of have one idea, but… last few days, I've mostly been looking into ways to help Tara. I know, that shouldn't be my priority --"
"Of course it should."
- Buffy/Giles: "Buffy, what you're talking about flies in the face of everything we've ever -- that every generation has ever done in the fight against evil. (smiles) I think it's bloody brilliant."

- Faith/Wesley: "Feel natural?" "It's like riding a biker"
- Buffy/Joyce: "Well, I guess that was 'the talk'." "So... How did it go?" "I don't know. It's my first."
- Riley/Willow: "Then talk. Keep eye contact, funny is good, but don't be glib. And remember: if you hurt her, I will beat you to death with a shovel". Riley stops, looks at Willow likes she's nuts. She smiles. "A vague disclaimer's nobody's friend. Have fun!"
- Anya/Giles: (sincerely) "I'll take really good care of your money"

1. Spike and Drusilla- obviously.
2. The whirlwind- I wish they'd been the subject of the spinoff.
3. Spike and Joyce- It was an unlikely friendship but it worked.
4. Xander and Willow- It was good to show that a male and female could be platonic friends.
5. Giles, Joyce and Buffy- I liked how Buffy had her little family unit.
6. Buffy and Willow- Friendship!
7. Spike and Harmony- It was such an odd combination but it worked.

Little romance. I rank the friendships or frieminy-ships generally higher. Of course, they are often interlaced with romance/crushes/USTs, textual and subtextual.

I can't believe I missed dawn/spike and Joan/randy from my list!!!! They are two of my favorites. I'm so lame.....
 
And I thought ranking my favourite characters would be difficult, eek!

I enjoy so many of the relationships, though, so there are a bunch that I could list but these are just some of my favourites that came to mind.
 
Faith/Buffy- I'm like @Blaze , their relationship goes way beyond shipping for me. It's a whole ying/yang sister-slayer thing. It's deep, but on the other hand its also hot, y'know.
Angel/Faith- As friends, brother/sister types they work so well. Faith's journey mirror's some of Angel's so well. They have a bunch of stuff in common and I feel there's plenty of 'cut scenes' that could flesh out their
Buffy/Giles- In S1-5 mainly, their parallel development and how they come to rely on each other through big pain and trauma. Plus some of the funniest stuff comes from these two in a scene. Plus, two of the best actors for all the drama/angst stuff, S2 especially.
Wesley/Gunn- Becoming best buddies during S2 and 3.
Oz/Willow- A twosome of cuteness.
Angel/Lindsey- From the very first episode these two sparked with each other. Great hate-chemistry.
Lilah/Wesley- I would say Lilah/anyone but she had the best chemistry/arc with Wes.
Buffy/Dawn- Lots of great scenes between them in S5 and a smattering as the show went on.
Angel/Doyle- Nobody gets an Irishman like another Irish man. Sadly only 9 episodes.
Buffy/Cordelia- Buffy and her other shadow-self. Some great bitchiness between them in those high school years.


Other mentions: Riley/Xander (Yay, Xander has a guy-friend)
Xander/Oz (Xander and his other male friend)
Spike/Dawn in S5 (A necessary humanizing effect on Spike. Sad that it didn't last past S6)
Willow/Cordelia (I have this whole non-canon thing in my head for how they became closer after S3. Talking on the phone and stuff.)
Buffy/Tara- I never felt that Buffy really bonded with any of her friends partners except for Tara.
Spike/Drusilla
Darla/Angel
 
  1. ANGEL/CONNOR – no other relationship in the ‘Verse kills me like this one
  2. Buffy/Angel – I can’t help it, I’ll always love this pairing, OTP of all OTPs
  3. Darla/Angel – this relationship is so damn fascinating, and so layered and complex and just amazing
  4. Fred/Gunn – why is this ship not more popular? I just don’t understand how people ship the vile Fresley over this beautifully developed relationship
  5. Willow/Xander – their friendship is one of the deepest and most beautiful on the show
  6. Buffy/Dawn – gorgeous sister relationships are gorgeous
  7. Angel/Doyle – short-lived, but gorgeous, and seemed to have a lasting effect on Angel
  8. Angel/Faith – such a beautiful friendship between two dark souls who understand one another so well
  9. The Whirlwind – I could watch an entire show just dedicated to these four
  10. Angel/Spike – who doesn’t love these two idiots and their constant bickering? They’re classic.
 
1. Buffy/Angel : my 2 favorite characters and my first OTP
2. Buffy/Dawn : one of the best sibling relationships I've ever seen on TV, they remind me of me and my sister
3. Angel/Faith : perfect brotp
4. Buffy/Giles : they have some of the best moments on the show and make me very emotional
5. Buffy/Faith : extremely interesting dynamic and they have amazing chemistry
6. Angel/Cordelia : I love them mostly as friends but I do think they really did love each other
7. Buffy/Willow : always so supportive of each other
8. Wesley/Lilah : they had a very different and interesting dynamic
9. Willow/Tara : such a lovely relationship
10. Angel/Darla : I find their relationship fascinating and it helps that darla's arc is one of my favorite on ats
