Top 10 least favourite to worst Buffy characters

Excellent video! It is worth the half hour it takes to watch.

I don't necessarily place Dawn or Kennedy as close to the worst, although they certainly could be among the most hated. He gives reasons for all of the characters being on his list but also reasons people could actually like the characters so it is a somewhat balanced view with sound reasoning behind it.

There should be a distinction between the character (which is what the video is about) and the acting talent brought to bear by the actor or actress. Dawn may be a character who was not liked all that much, but Michelle Trachtenberg was probably the most talented and least limited of the entire buffy cast.

Neat video, I appreciate that you are able to acknowledge positive traits about your least favorite characters. And, I totally agree about Tara. 🙂

Loved the video, but was personally disappointed to see Riley as number one, for no other reason than the fact that I am a Riley fan. I can understand your reasoning, I just agree with it is all 😉

Great video, I also really liked that you pointed out the good side in the characters you did like.

That said I totally disagree with you list 🙂

Is it weird that I kinda love all the characters on the show including the villains (well, except for the potentials or maybe Riley, I hated him with a firey venageance, but now not so much)?
I really liked your list and the reasoning, I agree with a lot and I also disagree with a lot, but like you, I respect everyone's opinion.

Glad you like my video, check out my top 10 favourite Buffy characrers. Currently I'm doing my Top 10 favourite Buffy episodes.
I disagree with many of your choices, but that's why they call them opinions. Everybody has a different one.

BTW, do you know why Adam was so undeveloped as a character? He was originally intended to be a henchman for Maggie Walsh who was supposed to be the big bad. But because of issues with actress Lindsay Crouse they kicked her and elevated him to leadership status.

I never knew that, interesting. I respect your opinion that you disagree with my list but I'm glad you watched it. Check out my Top 10 favourite Buffy characters and recently I posted my Top 10 favourite Buffy episodes.

I would rank Kennedy, Warren, Willow (circa Season 6), Buffy (Seasons 2,3,4,6 and 7) and Dawn all above Riley. They are/were annoying, whiney and self-righteous. Riley could have been an interesting character but was very under developed and I don't think Marc Blucas's, how can I put this... approach to the character was particularly great.

To be fair I think with a lot of people, their main gripe with Riley is - he wasn't Angel.

Interesting list though dude.

Andrew - I can see why you'd put him on there, but I feel he's supposed to be intentionally annoying and he's annoying in a funny way. Like Harmony or Anya.

Again, I can see why you don't like Anya - but I ADORE her.

But again, it's all opinion ain't it.

😛

I actually agree with quite a few of these:

Anya, Conner, Andrew and Grue often bugged the crap out of me. Either because of their complete lack of character, or that their 'quirks' were just highly irritanting.

Though I like Tara, and Dawn. Plus Xander (sometimes- he can be very variable).

Ah maaaan, I dig Groo. I found his naivete amusing, he's the Angel equivalent of Anya. I s'pose with those two characters if you like/dislike them it's for the same reasons.

Grue didn't grate on me half as much as Anya- I just found him boring not annoying.

Oh, I also forgot Kennedy (lucky me), another badly written character that overstayed her welcome.

Kennedy really grew on me in the comics. I like how she found her own place in the world and managed to see how damaging her relationship with Willow was. Everyone thought that Kennedy was going to be a rebound thing, but they were together for - what, three years? The only reason Kennedy left was because Willow couldn't handle being powerless and broke up with her.

Willow and Spike come out top for me on a list like this.

I thought Willow broke up with Kennedy because she finally realised that she didn't really love her, not like she loved Tara. Over the couple of years she separated Kennedy from Buffy and the mission, in her mind to protect Kennedy, but also I think because she didn't truely love her like she had loved Tara. Just my opinion, anyway.

I agree that Kennedy has gotten a little better in the comics, (S9 anyway) but I still found her utterly obnoxious in S8 (when she called Buffy a 'les-faux for example I would've happily punched her in the face...😡) but when she's apart from Willow, she seems far better person, less arrogant and more focused.

I really enjoyed the video. I disagreed with some of your choices, but we all have different opinions. I like Riley, Dawn, and I love Tara. I have to agree with Anya. I think I dislike her more than you do. And Xander I go back and forth with. I really like him alot of the time, but other times he really makes want to smack the snot out of him!
