I was just on TV.Com and had a look at the top ten voted for by the fans and the list above is the result.

Do you agree with it?

What episodes are there that shouldn't be and what episodes are missing?

I do agree to an extent with the episodes on the list BUT I would say its ordering needs to be reconsidered

Well, that's all the usual suspects. 😀

Personally, I'd lose Grad Day and The Body (yeah, go ahead, flame me 😛 ) for Restless and Normal Again, and of course the order won't be the same if you ask any two people... but for the most part, you'll probably get few complaints from either me or the vast majority of people on this board over that list. 🙂

Its a fair enough list... favorites of course vary person to person but that list I guess seems like a good average of mosts opinions. The only one on there I take issue with is Grave, but that could just be me and my total indifference to Dark Willow... I'd for sure take that one out and insert Restless. Restless is without a doubt Top 10. Other top faves of mine that are noticably missing: Who are You, Something Blue, Tabula Rasa, Intervention and Normal Again.

I do agree with that list to an extent too. I mean they're all great episodes but I also think that Restless should have been on it. Although I don't know which episode I'd lose to have it there. Maybe Passion. I love Passion but you already got Innocence and Becoming Pt. 2 there. Restless is one of the best, a great character episode.

And I would never be able to choose an order for 10 favourite episodes, too indecisive for that.:biggrin:

I'd say that's a pretty solid list, but I agree the ordering needs to be switched around a bit.

GRAVE? ARE THEY SERIOUS? That was the worst season ender of the entire series! Someone could actually be satisfied with an episode being in the top 10 that has the line "I don't wanna protect you from the world, I wanna show it to you" and a schlub saving the world by saying "I love you"? CHRIST.

Chosen doesn't deserve a top 10 spot either.

Aside from that, all good.

Yeah, I'd shoot down Graduation Day for Normal Again, and Grave for Two to Go. The Body should really be at the top, although I can understand OMWF being there.

Becoming Pt 2, however? Give me something like Selfless over that any day. Prophecy Girl would actually have been a better choice.

I would kick Grave off the list, otherwise it's fine.
And you know which one I feel is REALLY missing, because it's one of the most awesomest episodes ever? The Wish.

This requires much review, plus I'm happy to say I'm now going on episode three season 6 for the first time, meaning my ignorance reaaly makes it unfair to judge. I can see a lot of my thus far favorites like band candy not being represented.

Zeppo is one of my favorite episodes and I bet for discussions sake some people simply hate it due to their overall dislike of Xander. I bet that polarization could effect polls and though while I love the Xan-man and an episode highlighting him, a few of my friends around here feel very different.

I'm not about to say I represent the masses or vice versa, especially since I found the forums about it so late in the game with a pre formed concept in how I think of things about the series.

I'm curious if people can still vote on this stuff since the TV series has wrapped up 5 years ago.

I don't see much season one representations, and other than a pivotal moment for Buffy and Angel, season two is not highlighted much either. I think most...maybe all of the ones mentioned are defining to the character of Buffy by romance achievement loss, whatever. or in the case of hush and the musical pretty darn creative and artsy.

My top ten are mine for different reasons.

For instance in Dead Man Party, the way Tony made Giles say so much while saying nothing when Buffy came back, and seeing how all the scoobies react to her after she has left.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. Once I have watched every episode I promise to dig this thread back up and list my own top ten. I have a feeling Zeppo as well as dead man party will both be in it. Hush was different and clever and featured some neato bad guys, but its not top tier for me, I like Zep. and DMP more, maybe band candy too.

I'll weigh in latter. it will be interesting for me to see if I agree after not expecting to.

Well, I've never really liked Innocence really... I don't why everyone thinks it's so special. And Grad. Day isn't too good either. There are a lot of better episodes that could be on there too, but the list was pretty good overall I guess. The obvious ones.

All very worthy of top ten spots, but i would drop The Body, Grad pt2, Chosen and Grave. They'd be replaced with Prophecy Girl, The Wish, Restless and Fool for Love. (fool for love should def be in there)

I would switch them around and have Passion as No1 and The Becoming Part 2 as No 2.

No Relic, Fool for Love was in s5, Spikes story. Classic.

Fool for Love was the one that bounced off Darla on Angel, wasn't it. As a pair, those two were excellent.

Here's my personal Top Ten 🙂 it's probobly a bit different then other fans 🙂

1. Passion
You can't beat the awesome, melodramatic overture and I just love Angelus, I can't help it - He is such a great villain "“ so scary! And this episode is just so tragic.

2. Tabula Rasa
No comment. This just a fab episode. So funny! I love identity crises.

3. Band Candy
Now this is one of the those episodes you shouldn't watch while eating. Because it has so many laugh out loud moments. And believe me, I didn't know who Juice Newton was then, either. Then I looked it up.
4. Real Me
Unicorns. Harmony "“ need I say more? I don't know about you all, but I just love her.
5. Fool For Love
Both this and the one below are very important in setting up the Buffy/Spike dynamic that becomes so central in the last two seasons. This is the episode I always show to newbies

6. Crush
Every scene is good. Brilliant
7. The Gift
I always cry at the end of this one. For all you people who still believe Spike didn't love Buffy; why then, was he weeping bitterly when she died, huh? And man, that look he gives Dawn right before he's thrown off the tower"¦heartbreaking, really.

8. Once More With Feeling
No comment here. Brilliant. Sure, none of them are fantastic singers, (except maybe Tara), super-entertaining non the less.

9. The Wish
Now, we are really in bizarro-world. And there's no invisible Buffy "“ only lots, and lots of vampires. A world without Buffy? Gasp! Dark. Super-dark. As in, I can't even see around me dark.
10. Restless
Obscure, super-duper metaphorical genius. This episode not only exposes the worst fears of our charming Scooby Gang, but it nicely foreshadows events to come later on in the series.
Best Quote: "I walk. I talk. I shop. I sneeze. I'm gonna be a fireman when the floods roll back. There's trees in the desert since you moved out, and I don't sleep on a bed of bones." -Buffy

This was very close to making this list "“ if only because of the brilliant, powerful last scene with Buffy and Spike in the church. God, that scene is good"¦That scene could tell a thousand words.
Yet, I'm not too fond of the rest of the episode so"¦it didn't quite make the cut.
Best Quote: "Can we rest now? Buffy? Can we rest?". I feel this quote could possibly sum up the entire series.
The Pack.
Despite not being a huge fan of the first season, I absolutely love this episode. Maybe it's just because I really like hyenas.

The Ferg, the fact you think GRAVE was better than Graduation Day and RESTLESS (which is by far the best episode of the series, and I just noticed is NOT on that list)...makes me wanna slap you a little bit. Grave was one of the worst episodes of the entire show. And Innocence is classic.

Good points. S6 is my favorite season, and even I think that Grave sucks compared to Graduation Day.

Oh, and my list is not in chronological order by the way. The reason for this is that I can't choose between Tabula Rasa and Passion as my all-time favorite episode...thats way too hard 🙂

It would be totally lame if anyone's top ten didn't have Fool For Love. That (along with Angel's Darla) I think, are the best crossovers and two of the best episodes in the Buffyverse. 🙂
