Well I'll refrain from a season 6/7 defense rant. But that line does not make me happy. People shouldn't joke about such wonderful things.🙄

Literally all of the writers had one amazing or good episode and most of them were mixed bags.

I didn't know the Angel writers but this list seems pretty spot on. Not at all surprised that DeKnight did Shells and Deep Down, that guy is just responsible for all the tough topics.
Drew Goddard really nailed it in the two that are mentioned; those episodes are not only entertaining but excel with dialogue.
David Greenwalt deserves a ton of credit for getting the show going if he did City Of and IWRY. (The pilot and the episode that brought all the Buffy fans)
Jeffery Bell I would say is kinda up and down, but NFA is flawless so that just gives him all the points.
No doubt from the examples given Tim Minear has got to be number one. About 5 of those are in my top 10 ish overall, and most of those are Lilah or Darla heavy, which is great.

Tim Minear is almost exclusively responsible for the Darla arc and Angel's beige arc. He kind of wrote some of the best Angel season 1 episodes (and he wrote the biggest amount of s1 episodes) which got the show started. He helped build the foundations of the show and then took it to the maximum level in season 2. Even though season 3 was crappy, he still wrote Lullaby, and wrote the best season 4 episode, Home.

He is one of the reasons the show is what it is. Probably should take as much credit as the creators. Shame Joss stole him from us - to make Firefly.

I heard him say that by the time Firefly was over and he was free to come over to Angel, the show was already well organised and he wasn't needed.

I like Bad Eggs and Living Conditions! The MN episodes I especially dislike are Dead Man's Party, Into the Woods and Wrecked. I am one of those crazy people who likes Buffy vs. Dracula, too.

Marti will always have a special place in my heart for IOHEFY, The Prom and Forever. She also wrote the water tank scene in Dear Boy when Darla says, "God doesn't want you ... but I still do." (David Greenwalt wrote most of the episode but Marti wrote that part.)

I agree on your other listed dislikes, but I think Bad Eggs is so ridiculous and Living Conditions is the bad kind of silly. It's not crazy to like Buffy vs Dracula though. If nothing else for Xander, but it has other greatness too, with Giles and those friendly ladies and also the battle at the mansion.
The Prom is pure gold. No arguments here. IOHEFY is also stellar. Forever feels a little cheap for me after The Body. It's hard to follow an episode like The Body, but I felt like they were caught between dealing with it correctly and not dealing with it at all. And I need to rewatch Dear Boy because I don't even recall that scene and that never happens to me damnit.

I didn’t know this! I had been mentally giving Greenwalt credit for this. Good to know. I love this part of the exchange:

Angel: "You took me places, showed me things, huh? You blew the top off my head. But you never made me happy."
Darla: "But that - that cheerleader did? We were together 150 years! We shared everything. You're saying - never?"
Angel: "You couldn't understand."
Darla: "I understand alright. Guy gets taste of something fresh and he thinks he's touching god."
Angel: "It wasn't about..."
Darla: "Oh, you bet your ass it was! There was a time, in the early years, when you would have said I was the definition of bliss! - Buffy wasn't happiness. - She was just new!"
Angel starts to laugh: "You know - you are getting awfully bent over this, Darla. I couldn't feel that with you, because I didn't have a soul. - But then I got a second chance - just like you have."

I feel like Angel is so different with Darla than with any other person he interacts with. I find it so fun to watch.

Same on all counts!!

I thought I was the only person who loved Buffy vs. Dracula! It's fun and a good introduction to the season's different themes even if it passes as a ridiculous standalone episode.
 
Joss obviously but I also love Jane Espenson as a writer and Drew Goddard because he was just as much a fanboy when he started writing for the show; I loved how in an interview he spoke about how punk it was to be a Buffy fan.

I know The Girl in Questions isn't hugely popular but it's like the last remotely funny episode in the buffyverse.
