Top 9 Vampire shows

Haha, interesting list. I haven't seen those other shows so I can't judge but, yea I'd say Angel is better than TVD. I'm surprised they included Dark Shadows, since others on the list seemed to be there for shallow reasons. But again this is from E!

Dark Shadows was a classic - I used to race home to see it. And I loved Barnabus, though not in crush kinda way,

I tried a season of TVD, but I got bored. It's very standard - main character are two brothers who want the same girl - the rest is just rich kids partying from what I saw. I gave up on it pretty quickly.

I wonder if there are any TVD watchers here.....

Not in order of preference:
Suck
Byzantium
Queen of the Damned
Salem's Lot (the version with Rob Lowe)
Vampire in Brooklyn (first half only)
Vampire Journals
Vampire Academy
Priest
Rise

Dark Shadows nearly got there because of the music the the story just didn't have it for me.
When The Vampire Diaries first hit the screen I was immediately put off by Stefan jump off the roof, it was so bad. Then it had some crap singer doing Kate Bushes Running up the hill, I decided at that point to keep watching it. But TVD could have been so much better if only the director had let the actors act as well as they could. Have a look at Phoebe Tonkins previous work.

The Rob Lowe version was great. I did not watch it when it aired and dismissed it. I later saw it and was stunned.
First, Being Human should be higher than #6, and second, the US remake is no longer on the air (thank heaven for small mercies).

Agree on Blade & Moonlight where they are, but The Originals is better than True Blood, and TVD...

I have to agree the UK Being Human show was awesome. And I absolutely love The Originals (Klaus mmmmmmm). Never saw Blade and Moonlight I have to confess. Glad TVD and The Originals got a look in as well as obviously BTVS and Angel.

Blade the series- only saw it once, but it looked pretty good.
Moonlight- Never seen it
Dark Shadows- classic
Being Human- love it, love it, love it
The Original- never seen it.
True Blood- couldn't get into it myself, but lots of friends are fans.
Angel- Why of course.
TVD- Liked s1 and 2, then got super-bored.
BTVS- People watched that show?

Being Human would be a lot higher on my list, but I'm just glad they ranked the UK original and not the remake.
I'd have Angel first personally, Buffy 2nd... but to each their own.

moonlight - saw maybe one or two episode but it didnt call me.

Dark shadows - never saw it.

Being human USA - terrible show, it had something going with the vampire society and the vampire lead but they messed it up so badly that you didnt know what the heck happened after they buried the vampire lead. They gave too much story to the wolf male lead and even that, they messed up big time. He's story was going ok until the female became the wild one and left and he became a sissy, i quit watching after that.

The originals - I've seen a couple episodes, might go back to it. There doesnt seem to much to make you very interested in it. The male lead is kind of an SOB.

True Blood - Here we are, the show that could had been the greatest vampire show ever and it ended up the worst vampire show i've ever seen. It starts off nice and mysterious, and it brings you in right away. In the first season, the minute you're done with one episode, you cant wait for the next. You learn that vampires are public knowledge, and here's the part that could had made this show so great, there was a HIERARCHY within the vampire society. There were kings who ruled their own territories, and under them sheriffs. I love this type of stuff🙂. There was a Hierarchy on Vampire age---the older you are the stronger you are--, meaning new vampires better watch their mouth when talking to an older Vamp. Are you kidding me?, this is the kind of stuff that i had been waiting for in vampire show🙂. There was also this link between a vampire and the vampire that makes him, some were very protective of their makers, others not so much. The vampire maker could make the vampire they made do whatever the wanted by saying the words "As your maker i command you". There was just so much that this show had going for itself, and they were taking all this little stuff seriously. The story that i liked the most was Eric from season 1 to 3, and his maker godric. Sadly after godric story, the show started to loose the good dramatic writing, but it's not until the beginning ofseason 4 where the show goes to utter crap. It does a 180 flip and so does every character and whatever you thought the show was gonna be about disappeared quickly. The rules no longer mattered, good story no longer mattered, the show became about who had the most freakiest sex scenes and 50 characters had their own storyline, and there was no cool hierarchy vampire society anymore. i quit in season 4 and from what i've read, it became even worst after season 4. What a waste.

Angel - it is a good show

Btvs - it's ok i guess🙄

Buffy Summers
Buffy Summers
Luckily that list included the UK Being Human - the US one was terrible! :)
"Buffy Summers: Luckily that list included the UK Being Human - the US one was terrible! 🙂"

I never saw the UK Being Human but i heard it was better than the American one. That's the thing, sometimes the second version is so bad that it taints the original version. It's like "Let the right one in" russian vampire movie which was nice, and the stupid American version "Let me in"
