Ok so the point of this thread is to rank your fifteen favorite scenes in the show(I know it's not easy). Starting with #15 all the way down to #1(just like a countdown). As an example, i'll do mine.

#15 - Spuffy scene at the end of 'Intervention' when Buffy kisses Spike and tell him what he just did was 'real', and that she won't forget it.
#14 - Small scene at the end of 'Doomed' when Spike tries to convince Xander & Willow to go hunt. 'Can't go without your Buffy, is that it? Too chicken? Come on! Vampires! Grrr! Nasty! Let's annihilate them, for justice, and for... the safety of puppies... and Christmas, right?' 🙂
#13 - Spike entrance on the show in 'School Hard' when he light up a cigarette and says 'Home, sweet home.'.
#12 - The BIG meeting at the high school in 'Choices'. I sooo loved that scene. We had so many characters there and it was both creepy and fun. Lol at Snyder in that scene!
#11 - The miracle at the end of 'Amends'. I just loved it the first time I watched. I know lots of peoples thought it was cheesy, but damn it was awe inspiring to me!
#10 - Xander scene near the end of 'The Zeppo' when he wins a test of will against a psychotic zombie.(The bomb scene in the school)
#9 - Ending scene in 'Lessons' when The First(who ended up being a completely stupid villain) take all the previous big bads appearances and concluding the episode with this quote... 'It's not about right. Not about wrong. It's about power!'
#8 - Buffy receiving her class protector award(the umbrella) after a little speech by Jonathan in 'The Prom'.
#7 - The Scooby Gang arguing with each others in 'The Yoko Factor'. That scene was completely hilarious, hahaha! Best part, when Xander receives Giles clothes on the head, while he's talking. ROFL!
#6 - Buffy and the others standing up for Tara in 'Family'. Not only was it awesome and very emotional for me, but also it's like the only time we get a real good shot of the whole team together!
#5 - The slideshow in the classroom in 'Hush'. That was probably the funniest scene in the show. So many things that made me laugh in it, starting with Giles graphic drawings, LOL!
#4 - Buffy jumping at the end of 'The Gift'. We all know that scene. It was really sad and the reactions of everyone touched me a lot. Could have been a nice ending to the show.
#3 - Uber!Buffy fight against Adam in 'Primeval'. For me that was the best fight scene on BtVS and also loved what Buffy said to him at the end... 'You can never hope to grasp the source of our power. But yours is right here'.
#2 - Xander's speech to Willow at the end of 'Grave'. Only second to the #1 scene for me. Very powerful scene, and I always loved Xander & Willow as best friends. The Zeppo finally save the day 😉
#1 - Buffy stabbing Angel to save the world, followed by her leaving Sunnydale in 'Becoming Part 2'. Ok I know some Bangel haters will disagree with me here. But even when I watched the show when I was around 13-14(and didn't like it much), that scene always hit me hard. I think Sarah Mclachlan's song help quite a bit to move you, but still... It will always stand out for me as the most emotional moment in BOTH shows, and i'll always link that song to BtVS. And take in consideration I'm not even a Bangel fan!

i definitely agree on the first one. I LOVED IT SO MUCH.
15: From Bad Girls. Buffy: Faith, you don't get it. You killed a man. Faith: No, you don't get it. I don't care.
14: From The Body, Buffy saying "You Can't Touch The Body!", the numbness fades and she realizes what has happened. 🙁
13: Oz' goodbye to Willow at the end of Wild at Heart. Willow: Oz, don't you love me? Oz: My whole life I've never loved anything else.
12: From Selfless. Anya's song cuts to her body after being stabbed. A WTF moment if there ever was one.
11: From When She Was Bad. Cordy confronts Buffy about campaigning for bitch-of-the-year. 🙂
10: Xander's entire talk with Buffy in The Freshman. " Let's put that bitch in the ground. " Perfect Xander moment, sweet, caring, funny and a little pervy. 😀 "Ok, sometimes when it's dark and I'm all alone, I think, 'What is Buffy wearing?'
9: From Innocence Giles talk with Buffy in the car. He's such a good dad. 😀 "All you will get from me is my support and my respect"
8: Innocence again, Buffy with a rocket-launcher. It's funny, it's tacky, it's bad-ass. It's what I like about Buffy really. 🙂
7: It's a horrible scene but Angel smiling at Willow crying when they hear Jenny's dead, from Passion. It's heart-breaking and twisted at the same time. And Aly's so good in it.
6: Innocence again - there's a reason it's my fave episode. 😀 Buffy kick Angel in the balls. And why not!
5: The Gift, the entire of Buffy's speech and sacrifice but the " Tell Giles I figured it out. And, and I'm okay" moment that cuts to her body on the ground is really too damn sad. 🙁
4: Buffy leaves Sunnydale after killing Angel in Becoming part 2.
3: Becoming Part 2 again. Buffy and Joyce's argument. "But I have to save the world... again." Great scene and sums up the character of Buffy perfectly.
2: From New Moon Rising, Willow talks to Tara about being torn between her and Oz. The whole scene is great and Alyson is awesome. A few episodes to sell a very new relationship and she does. Willow: I don't know. I just - life was starting to get so good again, and -- you're a big part of that. And here comes the thing I wanted most of all, and... I don't know what to do, I ... I wanna know, but I don't. Tara: Do what makes you ... happy.
1: Angel loses his soul and breaks Buffy's heart. The bedroom scene from Innocence. "You were great. Really. I thought you were a pro." It's actually horrible to watch and it's the episode where I thought Buffy as a show grew up. And for me proves just how much Sarah brought to the show, she's brilliant in this scene.

Nah, I can't order my favourite moments, it's hard enough to pick only 15. So in no particular order:

- Lie to Me - Buffy to Ford - "You have a choice. You don't have a good choice, but you have a choice! You're opting for mass murder here, and nothing you say is gonna make that okay![...]Well, I do feel sorry for you, and if those vampires come in here and start feeding, I'll kill you myself!"

- Becoming I "Whistler: So what are we, helpless? Puppets? No. The big moments are gonna come. You can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts. That's when you find out who you are."

- Becoming II - Willow doing the ensouling spell

- Becoming II - Giles resisting torture and calling Angel a pillock.

- Becoming II - Buffy sending Angel to hell

- Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered - Cordelia calling Harmony a sheep and declaring she is going to date whoever the hell she wants to date.

- Prophecy Girl - Xander forcing Angel to come with him at crosspoint.

- Doppelgängland - Willow shows up in the library after her friends are convinced she is dead. Hilarity ensues. Xander shaking his cross as if to make sure the batteries are working gets me laughing out loud every time.

- Choices - Willow: "It's a good fight Buffy and I want in".

- The final scene of New Moon Rising, Willow/Tara FTW!

- Killed by Death - Xander making Angel leave the hospital with his tail between his legs.

- When She Was Bad - Willow and Xander instantly forgiving Buffy in the end of the episode.

- Faith, Hope, & Trick Giles tricking Buffy into telling him about Angel's demise/ Willow's reaction is just exquisite too, the whole scene has some of the finest acting in the entire series, IMO.

- What’s My Line? II. Cordelia and Xander bicker then suddenly they kiss. In any other show this would have been a terrible cliche. Here...it's still a terrible cliche, only somehow both funny and awesome. 🙂

- Some Assembly Required. Giles training his pickup lines and Buffy and Xander "helping" him.

Xander's battery shake is writing of sheer genius, and Nick played it to perfection.

Shite! How did I forget Xander shaking the cross to make sure it was still working.
15 - Buffy in Prophecy Girl, "I'm only 16 years old, I don't want to die." scene.
14 - Buffy and Angel in Bad Eggs, "I'm not breaking any rules." scene.
13 - Buffy and Angel in The Prom, Angel's dream.
12 - Willow and Oz at the end of New Moon Rising.
11 - Anya asking can she trade kids for more money scene.
10 - Giles in a sombrero.
9 - Buffy in Chosen, "I want you to get out of my face" scene.
8 - Buffy and Angel in The Prom dancing.
7 - Cordelia telling Buffy she loves Xander in Homecoming.
6 - Buffy in Beer Bad kicking Parker with the brench.
5 - Willow breaking down in Xander's arms in Grave.
4 - Willow in Him trying to make RJ a girl.
3 - Anya's speach in The Body.
2 - Buffy in The Gift.
1 - Buffy stabbing Angel with a sword.

#15---Anya's lost song. It was a beautifull way to show her humanity during her demon time
#14---Buffy's fight with Giles and Angel in "Prophecy Girl". "Giles I'm sixteen years old. I don't want to die."
#13---Willow attacking Glory at her house after she drains Tara's brain
#12---Buffy and Spikes fight that leads up to them sleeping together for the first time. Just wonderful all the destruction that they caused.
#11---In "Hell's Bells" when Anya is going over her vows with Willow and Tara. Such a funny moment. I love Anya's bluntness
#10---Anya's speech abut the fruit punch in "The Body" such a heart breaking moment. Always the first time we see Anya going though painful part of being human
#9---Buffy and Faith's big fight in "Graduation Day pt.1"
#8---The end of "Double Meet Palace" when Willow confronts Amy and tells her not to come around anymore. She totally threatened her without actually saying it was a threat. Willow finally shows just how bad she is
#7---Willow and Tara in Tara's room in "Who Are You?" I love Tara's line line "I am you know.....Your's." so beautiful also the first time it is totally established that they are a couple
#6---Buffy's final fight with Caleb. Not an emotion sean but it is so much fun. Plus I love the way she kills him.
#5---In "Older And Far Away" when Anya is verbally attacking Willow. She advance toward her and Tara jumps in the middle. I love Tara's line "Hey your gona back off. She said no. You are not going to make her do something she dosen't want to. And if you wana try, your going to have to go though me first." I jump up and start cheering every time I watch that!!!
#4---The end of "The Gift". The way Buffy sacrifices herself right there shows just how much of a hero she is. You has made it clear she is afraid of death but when it really matters (including in "Prophecy Girl") she swallows that fear and is willing to lay down her life to protect the world. That is a true hero
#3---"Empty Places" when Spike stays the night with Buffy and she asks him to sleep in bed with him. No sex. Just intimacy. I find that to be the most touching Spuffy seen
#2---In "Entropy" when Tara comes into Willow's room and they get back together. "...It is a long and important process. And can we just skip it. Can you just be kissing me now." So beautiful and romantic. They are ment to be.
#1---Buffy big speech in "Chosen" where she tells them it is time for her to share her power. That is one of the most powerful and moving speeches in the history of the show

#3 was "Touched" though :)
Wow, this is difficult! This will probably have changed by next week but for now I'll go for something like:
15. Once More With Feeling Spike singing Rest In Peace. Absolutely badass!
14. Older And Far Away Tara standing up for Willow to Anya just shows everything we love about her in that one moment.
13. Fear Itself The Scoobies mocking the Fear demon at the end. Hillarious
12. Innocence Buffy with the rocket launcher. It obviously shouldn't work but it does. So well.
11. Passion Giles going after Angelus after Jenny's murder.
10. The Yoko Factor When the Scoobs all get into the big arguement at the end it brings out some nasty and fun stuff.
9. The Body Anya's speech about death.
8. Prophecy Girl Poor Buffy's speech with "Giles, I;m 16 years old, I don't want to die."
7. Becoming II Buffy sacrificing the love of her life for the good of the world.
6. Hush Giles' drawings!Haha
5. Tabula Rasa The first few scenes after the Scoobies forget everything are just comic genius.
4. Chosen Buffy's speech is so downright moving. She had so many great ones that year.
3. Passion Angelus sneering in the window at Willow and Buffy's grief with the DB voice over.
2. The Gift She gave up everything to save the world. A true hero.
1. Prophecy Girl So cheesy and not everyone will agree but I just love the "I feel different" scene when buffy comes back and she is walking up the street with Xander and Angel behind her with the theme tune playing in the background. Cheesy but so cool and everything I love about BtVS in that scene.

Not ordered... well sort of in reverse order, but mainly just in the order that I remembered them.

#15 Becoming - Everything from Buffy stabbing Angel to the close-up on the "You Are Now Leaving Sunnydale" sign, absolutely beautiful.
#14 The Gift - Buffy's speech to Dawn, her sacrifice and the message on her tombstone. Perfect end to the show.
#13 Restless - The whole episode, but mainly Buffy's showdown with the First Slayer.
#12 Innocence - "What's that do?"
#11 Who Are You - Faith beating up Buffy, screaming at her (but really at herself).
#10 The Body - Anya's speech about death and the fact that she has no idea why any of this is happening.
#9 The Body - Buffy telling Dawn about Joyce, her silent breakdown and the beautiful shot of the "empty space".
#8 Graduation Day - The whole class throwing off their robes and fighting the Mayor.
#7 Passion - Giles finding Jenny's body on his bed with her neck snapped.
#6 Fear, Itself - "I am the Dark Lord of Nightmares!" "Oh, it's so cute!" :rotflmao:
#5 Family - "We are her blood kin! Who the hell are you?" "We're family."
#4 Prophecy Girl - Buffy's reaction to finding out that she is going to die.
#3 Selfless - Anya singing "I'll be his Mrs", and the abrupt cut to her body impaled on a sword.
#2 Fool for Love - Spike's speech to Buffy about her death wish.
#1 The Gift - That opening scene. "But... you're just a girl." "That's what I keep saying."

#1 : The beginning scene of The Gift. I think it stands for what Buffy really is. Just a girl with great physical and emotional strength.

#2 : The ending scene of The Gift . She is willing to die for her sister , for the world, for her duty. What more can I say?

#3 : Buffy shooting the Judge with the rocket launcher in Innocence and then her fight with Angelus...ending with her kicking him in the...! He deserved that!!!

#4 : Buffy in Prophecy Girl walking with Angel and Xander after she comes back to life. I LOVE THIS!!! And then "I may be dead but I'm still pretty...which is more than I can say for you!"

#5 : In Graduation Day pt2 , the scene where Buffy is willing to risk her life for Angel's sake, him trying to avoid her and finally her forcing him to drink from her.

#6 : In Amends, the hill scene. Then their walk on the snow. Not talking just holding hands and looking at each other. Pure beauty.😀

#7 : Spike telling Buffy that "every night he saves her"...maybe the most beautiful thing between those two.

#8 : Spike defending Buffy and yelling: "she died for you!!!".

#9 : Buffy and Angel in The Prom. The ending scene when he comes for her. They just dance!

#10 : Becoming pt2. The last 10 mins of the episode. Buffy telling Angelus that she has herself if all the other things go away. Killing Angel. Breaking down and leaving Sunnydale.

#11 : InThe Gift Buffy telling Giles how much she misses her mother and how much she loved Angel.

#12 : In Helpless when Angel tells Buffy about the first time he saw her!

#13 : The "burning cross" scene in the end of Angel.

#14 : The fight scene in "Chosen". When Buffy falls down, Faith takes over. Really cool! Then Faith falls and the Scythe is at the hands of Rhona. I love the way Slayers interact.

#15 : Buffy and Angel in "Chosen". Buffy giving him hope for the future if they survive.

A true Bangelers version :)
It's interesting what you can glean about everyone's tastes from these lists! From mine, I realized that I mostly go for the angst, with a little bit of humor mixed in.

15. Graduation Day, Part 1: Faith and Buffy fight. Their banter is funny and deadly serious at the same time, and then the end of the fight is one of the most pivotal scenes in the series.
14. Reptile Boy: The graveyard scene where Buffy and Angel bicker about meeting for coffee.
13. Forever: The end when Buffy and Dawn fight and then end up crying in each other's arms.
12. The Zeppo: Xander sleeping with Faith. "Did I mention that I'm having a really strange night?"
11. School Hard: Meeting Spike and Drusilla. They're so sexy and cool. I love that Spike's face morphs to human when Drusilla walks in. It tells you everything you need to know about their relationship
10. Becoming, Part 1: opening scene, meeting Liam. It was the first flashback they ever did, and it was so exciting to see Angelus's origin.
9. Restless: I could actually name the whole episode, but to stay within the rules, Buffy's scene in the desert. "I'll be here when the floods roll back."
8. Bad Eggs: The window kiss. It sends my Bangel heart a-flutter.
7. Tabula Rasa: The last scene. So heartbreaking, but so well done. I love that it's all music, no dialogue
6. Hush: Tara and Willow in the laundry room. It was there from the beginning
5. Selfless: Anya's lost song. It's funny, sweet, and sad all at the same time. Plus, I love that they put the coconuts on the counter in the background. Nice payoff.
4. OMWF: Spike singing "Rest in Peace." "If my heart could beat, it would break my chest" - one of the most beautiful lines in the Whedonverse.
3. The Body: The initial one-shot scene where Buffy is alone with her mother. It's heartbreaking, but I can't tear my eyes away. It's also a tour de force of acting by SMG.
2. Grave: Xander's "I love you" speech.
1. Chosen: The awakening of Slayers worldwide. It chokes me up.

And bonus S8 Scene: The Chain: "You don't know who I am. But I do." Worth reading the comics just for this one.

More karma for The Chain.
I think what makes us all such fans of BtVS is that it was the Holy Grail of shows - that rare combination or truly talented writing meeting truly talented acting. Therefore it is really impossible for me to list the 15 best scenes, because there were so many top quality ones throughout. So I'll settle for listing 15 remarkable ones, in order of preference for those scenes themselves.

#15 Out of Sight, Out of Mind - Buffy's line "I think I speak for everyone here when I say, huh?" For me that was the pivotal moment when I realised the ultra high quality of the writing on the series, and that language would never be the same again. From then on I paid attention to not just what and how things were said on Buffy, but in life in general. BtVS is a show where you can write a line of dialogue and most fans will know exactly who said it merely from the wording. Each character has a clear, well defined idiomatic way of speaking.

#14 Once More With Feeling - Giles singing "Standing" over the beautiful slow motion shots of him throwing knives at Buffy who parries them all. It's a poignant and heartfelt moment for him. Like Tara at #4 he's putting the welfare of who he loves before his own feelings. I also include in this the "under your spell/standing" reprise where Anthony duets with Amber. Amber's line "I can't adjust to this disgust" kills me every time.

#13 Faith, Hope and Trick - Willow's face when Giles reveals that he overheard what she said about him.
Willow: "Are you mad at me?"
Giles: "Of course not, no. If I were I would be making a strange clucking sound with my tongue."

#12 No Place Like Home - Buffy in her trance finally finds out that Dawn isn't all she thinks she is. When Dawn begins to fade in and out I began to worry that she wouldn't be a permanent cast member after all. The deliberate mislead where she seems to have a sinister agenda threw me and I was praying it wasn't so because I loved the bratty little sister. She opened up so many new angles and scope for Buffy to fill new roles that it would have been tragic for her to not be destined for the show full time.

#11 Homecoming - Faith in her prom dress. That's an OMG seriously sexy look for her. Choker FTW! Shows she can dress up as well as down. Scott has caused Buffy pain, so Faith evens the score in inimitable fashion.

#10 Graduation Day P1 - Buffy and Faith's climactic showdown. As a Fuffy shipper it always hurts to watch that fight, but let's face it, those two battling it out was what we'd been waiting for.

#9 Passion - Giles swinging the flaming baseball bat overhead when he goes after Angelus for killing Jenny. Can't help getting a rousing surge of adrenaline every time I watch that scene.

#8 School Hard - The moment Spike and Dru put their heads together and then twist as one to look at the Annointed you just knew they were an extraordinary couple.

#7 I Robot, You Jane - This exchange between Giles and Jenny is special on so many levels. How on earth did they manage to make something that was at once ever so lurid and sexy be also a touching moment in their romance?
Jenny: "Well, you really are an old-fashioned boy, aren't you?"
Giles : "Well, I-I don't dangle a corkscrew from my ear."
Jenny: (smirking mischievously) "That's not where I dangle it."

#6 Intervention: To find out if Spike will keep Dawn a secret from Glory Buffy pretends to be the Buffybot. I find it hard not to list every scene where Sarah does the Buffybot because she is so incredible and funny at it, but this is my favourite. Her tenderness when she kisses Spike is so well done and it is his true reward for the torture Glory inflicted upon him. From that moment Buffy trusts Spike in ways she's never done before.

#5 Who Are You? - The heartachingly and breathtakingly beautiful and romantic moment when Tara turns to Willow.
Tara: "I am, you know."
Willow: "What?"
Tara: "Yours."

#4 New Moon Rising - The moment when Tara selflessly tells Willow to do what makes her happy. She's sure that Willow will choose Oz over her, but she loves her enough to want the best for her, even if that is being with somebody else. I get a lump in my throat the way her voice hitches with emotional pain in that stutter during the word "happy."

#3 - Doppelgangland - When Willow reappears at the library when Buffy, Giles and Xander think she's a vampire, Xander showing her the cross and then shaking it to make it work is one of the funniest, and most perfect comically timed moments from the whole show.

# 2 - Family: The scene where Buffy and everybody makes it clear that Tara is one of them, finally. Spike's test to find out if she is a demon is brilliant. Only he could do something so nice for someone by punching them in the face. Have to admit that it is a scene that always makes my eyes water with happiness.

#1 - Bad Girls - Faith appearing at the classroom window to steal Buffy away. The moment she breathed onto the window and drew that heart I fell totally in love with her character.

This was so hard!

I tried to balance the scales with my choices, but there's no denying that they're mostly Buffy and/or Spike-centric. Not surprising considering they're my main interest in the series.

In no particular order:

#15 - Prophecy Girl
Giles/Buffy/Angel
I'm 16 years old. I don't want to die.
One of the most heartbreaking scenes in the entire series. Sarah is phenomenal in this scene, and it never fails to bring on the waterworks, no matter how many times I've been this episode.

#14 - Beneath Me
Spike/Buffy
They put the spark in me and now all it does is burn.
A beautiful piece of writing performed even more beautifully. Spike's guilt is heart-wrenching, and Buffy's tears are real. She feels for Spike. A pivotal moment in their relationship and in their understanding of each other.

#13 - The Gift
Buffy/Dawn
You have to be strong. Dawn, the hardest thing in this world is to live in it. Be brave. Live. For me.
Just thinking about this scene makes me cry. This is when Buffy becomes a real, bona fide Hero with a capital "H." The last shot of everyone's reactions to her dead body is a piece of pure cinematic genius. Hell, I even feel bad for Dawn in this scene.

#13 - Passion
Angelus/Willow/Buffy
Angelus: Passion. It lies in all of us. Sleeping, waiting, and though unwanted, unbidden, it will stir, open its jaws, and howl. It speaks to us, guides us...
It's a small scene that others have mentioned here. It's when Angelus is looking through the window, and observing the phone call from Giles to Willow regarding Jenny's death. Willow's slide to the floor is nothing short of heartache defined, and the voyeuristic attitude Angelus takes on their pain is an enlightening one regarding his character. One of the very best of the series, imo.

#12 - Fool For Love
Spike/Buffy/Nikki
Every slayer has a death wish. Even you.
A delicious scene that goes back and forth from 1980s subway in New York to an alley in Sunnydale. Spike, the truthsayer, is telling Buffy everything she doesn't want to hear but knows is right. You could cut the sexual tension between the two with a knife. We learn more of Spike's past and more about Buffy's fears and insecurities about being a Slayer.

#11 - Tabula Rasa
Spike/Buffy
A vampire with a soul? Oh my god, how lame is that?
This entire episode is comprised of equally amusing scenes, but the one that stands out to me is between Buffy and Spike. There's a delightful comparison to Angel made, and Spike defines himself as a "hero" and Buffy names herself Joan (an apt reference to Joan of Arc). Stripped of their preconceived notions of each other, Buffy and Spike automatically protect one and other, fighting side by side almost as if instinctively (Ready Randy? Ready Joan!)

#10 - Band Candy
Giles/Joyce
[teenage Joyce] Screw you. I want candy.
The scene where Joyce and Giles steal the coat from the store and make out on the hood of the police car? Classic! You can't get much better than that.

#9 - Dirty Girls
Faith/Spike
No more Starbucks for the wannabes, man. They've been spazzing for, like, hours.
You know what scene I'm talking about. In the basement. Yep. It's a real shame the sexual tension between these two never got a chance to cool down. Spike has never looked more beautiful than he did in this scene. And the jealous look on Buffy's face is enough to keep me happy forever.

#8 - Restless - Buffy's dream
Buffy/The First Slayer
I walk. I talk. I shop. I sneeze. I'm gonna be a fireman when the floods roll back. There's trees in the desert since you moved out, and I don't sleep on a bed of bones.
As usual, our Buffy is defiant, rejecting the "role" she is supposed to play as Slayer. Cinematic-wise, this scene (the entire episode, really) is stunning.
The First Slayer tells Buffy that in order to be the Slayer she must leave her friends and work alone, which Buffy rejects. An important scene that allows us more insight into Buffy's strong character.

#7 - Pangs
The Core Four/Spike
I just can't take all this mamby-pamby boo-hooing about the bloody Indians! You won! Alright? You came in and you killed them and you took their land. That's what conquering nations do. It's what Caesar did and he's not going around saying "I came, I conquered, I feel really bad about it." The history of the world is not people making friends - you had better weapons and you massacred them. End of story.
For me, this episode is important because it shows Buffy's clear desire to be a "normal girl", as manifested in her almost manic obsession with making the "perfect" Thanksgiving. Also, the episode is particularily interesting given it's obvious political message.
The specific scene I'm referring too is the fight scene in Giles' flat. There's a certain ironic truth in Spike's words. Plus, Spike tied to a chair always makes for lively entertainment.

#6 - Innocence
Angelus/Buffy
You were great. Really. I thought you were a pro.
I find Buffy and Angel's interactions endlessly fascinating, and this iconic scene is surely no exception. Angelus's pure and undiluted cruelty is beautifully justaposed with Buffy's loving innocence. Nicely played by both actors.

#5 - The Wish
I have to believe in a better world."
Go ahead. I have to live in this one."

Xander/Willow/Cordelia
The threeway bite. Need I say more?

#4 - Amends
Buffy/Angel
Buffy, please. Just this once... let me be strong.
The miracle scene on the cliff. My heart hurts for Angel here. He hates himself so much and honestly thinks that the world be better off without him. Angel has been given a second chance.
Ooh, and fun fact; the area where Angel attempts suicide is the very same area where a corrupted Willow will attempt to trigger an apocalypse in "Grave".

#3 - Something Blue
Spike/Buffy
Honey, we need to talk about the invitations. Now, do you want to be 'William the Bloody' or just 'Spike,' because either way it's gonna look majorly weird.
Whereas the name 'Buffy' gives it that touch of classic elegance.

Buffy and Spike's "engagement" = pure comic gold. What's funnier is the reactions from the rest of the cast.

#2 - Chosen
Buffy/Spike
I love you.
You knew I had to include this, right? I couldn't help myself. Buffy finally admits how she feels for Spike, but in typical ironic Joss fashion, it's far too late. Buffy leaves her man to save the world, and Spike dies a Champion. A perfect ending to a perfect series.

#1 - Seeing Red
The AR. Surprised I'd choose this? Not as surprised as you should be. As terrible as this scene is to watch, it was nessesary for Spike's development. Without the guilt he felt from that scene, he wouldn't have felt the need to make amends and get a soul.
Besides that, the scene is actually very well-acted and beautifully shot.

G
Goldilocks
Hahaha Giles' reaction on Spuffy's wedding is hilarious.
#15 - Life Serial
Kitten Poker!! Need I say more lol Drunk Buffy is hilarious. Run, be free kittens! Scamper!! lol That scene cracks me up everytime.

#14 - Graduation Day Part 2
The Big Battle. From the moment the students rip off all their robes to the very end when they stand staring at the exploding school I was cheering (and alright crying lol) This is one of my favorite finales. Its so powerful. It chokes me up everytime seeing everyone fighting to help Buffy.

#13 - Beneath Me
This scene is amazing. Truly beautiful scene. When Spike lays his arm on the cross "Can we rest now?" It makes me cry every time. The whole scene is tear-jerking. James is incredible in it.

#12 - The Prom
Its so touching when Buffy gets the Class Protector award. I love this scene. She looks so happy and so beautiful and after all Buffy had been through it was really wonderful to see her get a beautiful, happy prom. And for her classmates to recognize what she did for them.

#11 - Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered
When Cordelia realizes she loves Xander more then she cares about being popular. She chooses him over her friends. Its one of my favorite Cordy Moments from Btvs.

#10 - Family
Tara deserved way more then just one episode. (Just saying lol) But when Buffy stands up for Tara and calls her family it's so sweet. The scoobies are a family and finally Tara feels accepted into the scoobies.

#9 - Blood Ties
Buffy's speech to Dawn about Summers blood, its one of the most touching moments between Dawn/Buffy. I feel so terrible for Dawn in this episode she's going through a lot.

#8 - Prophecy Girl
"Giles, I'm sixteen years old. I don't want to die." I adore Buffy in this scene and to me this is still Sarah's most emotional acting. Its the only time I feel her tears aren't too over the top, they're just perfect and she's so heartbreaking in that scene.

#7 - Hush
Can I just say every Tara/Willow scene from this episode? No? Ok then when they re holding hands and I swear I can almost feel the power between them(ok being slightly ridiculous) but still the look between them you can tell together they are something wonderful, something powerful, something truly amazing.

#6 - Touched
"When I say, "I love you," it's not because I want you or because I can't have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try" Spike's beautiful speech to Buffy. It's by far my favorite Spuffy moment ever. More then any other (maybe a tie with her I Love You in Chosen lol) His honesty towards her is really moving, he speaks completely from his heart.

#5 -New Moon Rising
The last scene between Tara/Willow is beautiful. Willow chooses Tara over Oz. She loves Tara and wants to make sure she knows it. I love the way its shot too, the candlelit scene makes its so romantic but not in an over the top cheesy way.

#4 - This Years Girl
"It's like the whole world is moving and you're stuck. It's like those animals in the tar pits. It's like you just keep sinking a little deeper everyday and no-one even sees." Its such an amazing line. And it just slips in there and slips by unnoticed just like Faith feels. It explains so much about her character. I love that she lets loose these little lines that give away so much about her. But theyre crowded around so much anger and hate that they often go by unnoticed.

#3 - Faith, Hope, and Trick
"You don't know me. You don't know what I've been through." One of Faiths most important lines. One that defines her character and how she feels. One of the exact reasons I love Faith, one of the reasons she is my favorite. One of the reasons I identify with her.

#2 - Choices
"You were a slayer and now you're nothing. You're just a big selfish, worthless waste." Now even though I don't agree with Willow in this scene it is still an amazing scene between them. Plus it my Faillow 😛 Willow has so much hatred for Faith, even though Faith could kill her in a second Willow can't help but run her mouth off at Faith. Sexual tension, I'm telling you.

#1 - Grave
Xander saving Willow with his Crayon speech. This has to be my favorite scene from the entire series because when I think about which is my favorite this scene is always the first to jump into my head. Their friendship is so strong. They've been best friends since they were little kids and despite how lost Willow was and how blinded by her pain she had become, Xander was still able to reach her. To save her with his love for her.

Agree with them all, but particularly how perceptive you are about #4
1. Intervention
Last scene when Buffy kisses Spike - I love his look when he realizes that it's the real Buffy.

2. Becoming Part 2
Buffy kills Angel - NOT because of the fact that she kills him. The scene is just so awesome and emotional.

3. Lies My Parents Told Me
Spike kicking Wood's arse. THAT I enjoyed!

4. Older And Far Away
Tara asks Spike "How's that cramp, Spike? Still bothering you?". I love it.

5. What's My Line Part 1
Buffy and Angel ice-skating and gets vamp-faced and doesn't want Buffy to touch him. And she replies "I didn't even notice". So cute! (I know I'm Spuffy, but Buffy and Angel were cute!)

6. Ted
Buffy complains about Ted in Angel's apartment and he just says "Kiss me". Still.. cute and romantic.

7. Chosen
Even though Spike dies I love the scene when Buffy FINALLY says "I love you". His reply made me quite sad though.

8. Enemies
When Faith thinks Angelus is back, and she says that she is the world's best actor, and Angel just says "Second best".

9. Once More, With Feeling
Buffy singing "There was no pain, no fear, no doubt till they pulled me out of heaven". It made me cry as well, because I felt sorry both for Buffy and the Scoobies.

10. Tabula Rasa
When the Scooby Gang screams as they open the door of the Magic Box and see the vampires outside. Their faces are so funny!

11. Tabula Rasa
The very last scene - Buffy and Spike kissing.

12. Tabula Rasa
When Spike enters the Magic Box in his suit. Hahahaha

13. Pangs
When Spike screams "BEAR!! You made a bear!!"

14. The Body
When Buffy realizes her mum is dead. It is so sad, but Sarah was great in that episode.

15. Storyteller
When Andrew introduces Buffy and Spike in the kitchen.

It was really hard to pick and choose and I know this was supposed to be just BTVS but I had to include one moment from Ats.

#15 Revelations
The series of expressions that crosses Willow's face as Buffy kills Lagos. Can I have this Willow back? Please?

#14 Homecoming
Cordelia uselessly yet vigorously swatting at the demon with a spatula. Apart from being hilarious I find this highlights wonderfully the point that Buffy was trying to make. Cordelia was still essentially living the life of a teenage girl, she helped out from time to time, but the worry and the gravity of duty were not burdens she had to bear. The fact that her instinct was still that of someone who was not very familiar with conflict was telling. It serves as an even greater marker of how far she grew in Angel.

#13 The Yoko Factor
Bloody 'ell
Drunk Giles finding out that Willow and Tara were a couple. Pure Gold.

#12 The Yoko Factor

#11 Becoming Part II
Close your eyes...
The final scene in the Mansion is the entire reason I ship B/A and watched these shows. To this day it is still a glorious scene to watch and its emotional effect is still as strong as ever.

#10 Beauty and the Beasts
Buffy?
Angel falling to his knees and wrapping his arms around Buffy. There is so much I love about this. They disbelief and hope in his voice, the way he clings to her and the single, solitary tear that streaks down Buffy's cheek.

#9 Selfless
I loved him more than I will ever love anything in this life and I stuck a sword through his heart because I had to.
I had waited fives years for this issue to be addressed, and sweet Jesus, was it worth the wait. The passion in her voice, what she says and the way she says it...gorgeous. Even more so because I was not expecting it at all. Wonderful moment.

#8 Passion
The perfect shot of Angelus snapping Jenny's neck in that sweeping, graceful arc. He really did make an art of his killings.

#7 Anne
The shot of Buffy just sitting on her bed clutching a can of soup, in that raggedy, over-sized old sweater that was the same colour as the walls around her allowing her to blend into them. She was no one. Heartwreching to see her so utterly lost.

#6 Into the Woods
I thought you might need to talk. Then I saw the skirmish happen. I was gonna lend a hand, but I noticed you grew a few extra ones.
The action has always been of very little interest to me on Buffy but seeing Buffy take out all those vamps as if she was just swatting ants, was a sight to be seen. Especially the final shot of her javelin-like staking of the vamp that fed off Riley.

#5 Fear, Itself
I am the Dark Lord of Nightmares! The bringer of Terror! Tremble! Fear me!
It's no secret that I am just a little bit in love with Gachnar. But seriously...BEST.ENTRANCE.EVER.

#4 The Wish
You trusting fool, how do you know the other world is any better than this?
Because it has to be.

The last slowmo shots of The Wishverse where we see our scoobies killed one by one and finally that haunting shot of Buffy's neck snapping at the Master's hand. Probably the most chilling scene of the entire series.

#3 There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb
It's Buffy.
So effing perfect. This moment could have been botched so easily but it played out magically. I wouldn't give this moment up for the world.

#2 Anne
I'm Buffy, the vampire slayer. And you are?
A genuine fits pumping in the air moment. If ever we needed to hear those words it was in this episode when she had lost everything. This was a triumph for both Buffy and the audience.

#1 Lover's Walk
Tell me you don't love me.
The greatest moments of B/A for me are when they say nothing at all. This is my favourite of these moments. When Buffy asks this of Angel I genuinely hold my breath every single time. They way he just swallows her with his gaze and that glorious silence that says everything that she, and we the audience, need to know about them. I adore this.

Mindfiend agrees: #6 is a pivotal Slayer moment. Look at how far she's come. used to be 1 vamp was a problem. Now, as you wonderfully say, it's like swatting ants. The power of the Slayer is finally manifest.

Definitely. Especially if you compare it to her altercation with The Three in the ep Angel. She needed Angel's help that night. This scene shows how far she had really come.

I enjoyed reading about all or your favorite moments. And find I agree with a lot of them. Thanks for posting.
I suppose my ranking is gonna be a little B/A-centric as well 😉 Apologies... or not.

#15 "Him", Spike tackling Buffy to stop her from attempting to kill Principal Wood with a rocket launcher. To me, this is the single most comedic moment of BtVS.

#14 "Wild at Heart", when Willow asks "Oz, don't you love me?" and he replies "My whole life, I've never loved anything else."

#13 "Killed By Death", Xander standing up to Angelus in the hospital even though the vampire could have swatted him like a fly.

#12 "Grave", when Giles comes back, Buffy pours out her heart to him and they just start laughing. To me, this is the writers apologising for the awfulness that was season 6. A bit meta, but there you go.

#11 "Becoming Pt.2", Xander's monologue at Willow's hospital bed before she wakes up from her mini-coma

#10 "The Body", Anya's speech in Willow's and Tara's dorm room. Major tearjerker.

#9 "Beauty and the Beast", Angel on his knees, hugging Buffy and she is too stunned to even move.

#8 "Grave" again, the end when Xander steps in Willows way and she finally breaks down and starts to cry.

#7 "The Yoko Factor", Angel getting one over Riley and gloating

#6 "Touched", Spike's speech. "I've seen the best and the worst in you." Even as a Bangel, this scene is pretty intense. Poor chap.

#5 "What's My Line, Pt.2", "Nobody messes with my boyfriend." Not just pivotal B/A, but also essential Buffyness and feminist message. Perfection.

#4 "Surprise", the major snogging in the beginning, the claddagh ring scene and *coughs* of course, the ending.

#3 "The Prom", Buffy telling Willow about the break-up. So much hurt, and she still doesn't want to make him the bad guy.

#2 "Selfless", Buffy's line about Angel. We knew it all along.

#1 "Amends", the whole exchange on the hilltop. Absolutely perfect, stunning writing.
