Top Five Buffy Hook-Ups

I made my list before looking at it and just went with the five that popped into my head first.


Xander and Faith - More surprising than Xander and Anya because it was Xander's first time and it came out of nowhere
Anya and Spike - Not a relationship or anything, but clearly a memorable hookup, especially the aftermath
Buffy and Angel - First time caused the dude to go evil, nuff said
Buffy and Spike - Having sex with your enemy to feel something? Pretty dark, pretty awesome
Willow and Tara - Unexpected (unless you watched on DVD and knew it was coming like I did) and changed Willow's character big time
 
I made a list as well, and thought I'd give a look at who made it

Buffy & Angel
Faith & Xander
Tara & Willow
Xander & Anya
Willow & Oz

Who made it

Kinda surprised Buffy/Riley made the list of top 5...

I know we're only talking Buffy here, but I'd say Wes/Fred would even be more tragic than Willow/Tara because Willow moved on...

Since I haven't read the Angel comics
I have no idea if you're including those or not. I do know he comes back in some way.
but if you're only going by the tv-series I think that's a bit of an unfair comparision. Willow had more than one season to move on while Wesley only had a few episodes and (Season 5)
ended up dead himself at the end. Not easy to move on then.


I know. A lot of spoilers that might not be necessary but thought I'd include them all the same since not everyone has read the comics and watched all of Angel.

Well I'd have Buffy/Angel as number one. To me, personally, that's the most important relationship on the show and the one that meant the most to me. It's just my opinion, I'm not looking to discuss it 😛

I'd have Willow and Oz on there too as it was also a very defining relationship. And Giles and Jenny, just cos I loved it 🙂

Spike and Dru gave it another spin, being vampires and all. I guess I'm also kind of surprised to see Buffy/Riley on there.

Okay I'm making a list and then comparing.

Buffy and Spike
Buffy and Angel
Giles and Joyce
Willow and Tara
Anya and Spike

Of course the Buffy and Angel/Spike was going to be on there, and of course Willow and Tara, but the Xander/Anya pairing was hardly sexy or exciting or mysterious or different. Just, meh. And Buffy/Riley? Whatever.

Fred does not appear in the comics, though both Illyria and Wolfram & Hart impersonate her to Wesley. He has not even remotely moved on, and implies he'd rather die and be with Fred than be resurrected (he's a ghost).

I've only used 'relationship' to define hook ups, as I do see a 'hook up' as a relationship. Not necessarily a long term thing, but relations were had 😛

So I only think I'm look at it differently, as opposed to wrong 🙂

But I do see where hook ups and relationships could be seen as different things, I've just used them as one and the same!
 
I too was surprised to see Riley/Buffy on there. Can't say their relationship interested me that much. I mean, Riley was hot and all but....boring. I have to say I agree about Spuffy (big surprise there, eh?) Although I would agree with Flannen and say that her with Angel was more important to her development and to the show's legacy - but I just thought Spuffy was much more interesting, passionate, and complex.

I could have cared less about Riley and Buffy together
If we're talking about RELATIONSHIPS, my top 5 would be:
1. Buffy and Angel
2. Xander and Anya
3. Buffy and Spike
4. Willow and Oz
6. Giles and Jenny

If we're talking HOOK-UPS, it would be:
1. Buffy and Spike in the house.... WOW.
2. Buffy and Angel in IWRY.
3. Xander and Anya in "Touched". 🙂
4. Buffy and Angel in "Surprise".
5. Willow and Kennedy in "Touched". Just because I hate Kennedy doesn't mean I can't admit that the scene was HAWT. *sweating just thinking about it*

05 Anya & Spike [OK so it happened once but I think they'd have been hilarious together.]
 
The person who made this list seems to be pretty clueless about Buffyness, actually. I mean, she didn't get that the Xander/Anya breakup was about Xander's fears of ending up like his parents, NOT the demon's spell? That's a pretty huge lapse there.

And the fact that RILEY is anywhere on that list...*shudders*
