Top Ten Spike Moments

^ I agree about the first kiss in Intervention. That's actually my favorite Spike episode. It's the one that made me love the character. That he can do something as disgusting as buy the Buffybot and something as noble as withstanding torture for Buffy and Dawn in the same episode without ever being written out of character, well... that's just awesome.

May I count all of Intervention as a "Spike Moment?" Hehe.
 
Ok..a quick list in no particular order as I love all Spike's moments.

- All of Something Blue.
- His two arrivals when he crashes into the sign.
- Randy Giles.
- Fool for Love punk Spike.
- Kiss in Intervention.
- Out. For. A. Walk. B****.
- His speech to Buffy in 'Touched'
- 'Is everybody here very stoned?'
- Any interaction he has with Dawn.
- 'A bear! you made a bear!'

of course there are more, those are te ones I could think of, off the top of my head.

How about every Spike moment in Fool for Love?

I just rewatched that episode and I think I might be in character love. I have long known that I am in character love with Spike, but rewatching this ep just reminded me of it. Now I feel all glowy and -- dare I say it? -- "effulgent."

I also feel a whole lot of inadequate as a writer. I mean, Joss invents all kinds of fabulous characters. I'd kill for just one Spike. Really. Kill. I'd spill blood by the bucket for half of that talent and a quarter of that craftsmanship. Of course, Joss has the help of a fantabulous writing team, but still. Every Spike moment in this episode was beautiful. They were all so well honed. The writers really cut out the fat so that every word and every action reflected on character without detracting from plot, and about half of them offered up juxtaposition, irony, and/or foreshadowing as an added bonus. It brought out the contradictions and continuities in Spike and really showed him off as a piece of art in and of himself. That is so hard to do! So few characters manage that, especially secondary characters. Mark Twain did it with Huck Finn. Shakespeare did it with Mercutio. And yes, Joss and co. did it with Spike. He is a fully realized, vibrant, exciting character.

I'm going to go die in a melodramatic fit of writer jealousy now.

God, where's my Spike?! Come on, brain! Produce a Spike!
 
I love many of the scenes already mentioned...but here are a couple that I haven't seen listed

his speech to Angel and Buffy about them being "just friends"

his inspecting Buffy's hands after she clawed her way out of her coffin

that look on his face when he is trying to get her to discuss their relationship and tries to follow her into her house and finds she's blocked him

In 'dead things" when he says "hey, are we having a conversation?"

and his total hotness, frustration after the attempted rape, when he's in his crypt and Clem shows up

What? I'm listening... with beer.

Bs4: Let's make the world safe for puppies... and...Christmas, right. Come on!!!

As5: Well, duh - what do you expect, walking around at night in dark alleys in heels like that? I've half a mind to kill you myself, you stupid cow...

I'm going to go with Quotes on this one.

My favorite Spike moment (that I'm surprised no one has mentioned) is probably Giles' dream sequence in Restless. The black and white scene when he says, "I've hired myself out as an attraction." and he's striking all those super cool poses for the cameras. Too funny.

Also, his line in Pangs, "I'm saying that Spike had a little trip to the vet and now he doesn't chase the other puppies anymore. I can't bite anything. I can't even hit people."


And also in Restless, I just love the image of Giles and Spike on the swings in the matching tweed suits.
SPIKE: Giles here is gonna teach me to be a Watcher. Says I got the stuff.
GILES: Spike's like a son to me.

Spike and Giles are always great together.

My Fav Top 10 Spike Moments

10. When Spike first realizes he's in love with Buffy - he awakens from a dream & says "Oh God, no."

9. Spike crying when Buffy jumped to her death to save Dawn & the world.

8. Flashback of Spike when he was w/Angel, Darla & Drusilla in China ... the slow-mo scene of Spike jumping over that barrel. It was just SO cool.

7. Spike's obvious love for Buffy when he went to kill her with the gun, but found her crying on the steps, and he sat next to her to try to comfort her.

6. (Angel eppy) Flashback of Spike coming out of the gypsy wagon after a "meal" & he burped really loud & said to Darla "What?" (that so cracks me up!!!!)

5. When Spike realized his chip didn't prevent him from beating/killing demons "I can hurt demons!" ...& he started wailing!

4. Spike in "Pangs" episode... when one of the warriors hits him with an arrow & he says "watch the heart!" and a few seconds later you see him with all these arrows stuck in him. LOL!

3. Spike trying to explain to Buffy about getting his soul - "why does a man do what he does? for her... to be hers..." - and his resting/burning on the cross & saying to Buffy "can we rest now?"

2. (Angel eppy) Spike kicking Angel's ass for the right to drink from the Cup of Perpetual Torment. His "speech" about how he fought for his soul & Angel's soul was forced upon him, so somehow that DOES make him "more worthy".

AND OF COURSE My number one Spike moment... Buffy S-3"Lovers Walk" - his speech to Buffy & Angel about how they'll NEVER be friends, and the most famous most beloved Spike quote for me - "I may be love's bitch, but at least I'm man enough to admit it." 😀 😀 😀
 
I love pretty much all of the ones people mentioned, some of my favourites are:
- the scene with Joyce in lovers walk
- " a bear! you made a bear!"
- when he cheers up Willow in the Inititave(i think thats the ep, one of the first eps after he gets the chip)
- when hes singing "My Way" by Sid Vicious in his car (im a big sex pistols fan)
- "I may be love's bitch, but at least Im man enough to admit it"

--Watching "Passions" with Dawn and Joyce (and Giles though we never see this).

5) At the end of Chosen, when Spike is dying, his laugh is awesome and cool as well!!!

4) In Hush, Spike's two finger sign to Xander is so cool and funny!!!

3) Spike swinging the pole in subway/ swinging the snooker cue crossover is so cool and awesome to watch!!!

2) Spikes backpunch in School Hard is so cool to watch and then the quote at the end, just makes him so much cooler:

I no particular order other than off the top of my head:

1. In Pangs when he's sitting with the bows and arrows through him and Giles and Buffy are saying how they need to come up with a different plan, and Spike says something like "Yes, let's talk about this some more" casually. Just the image of him with dozens of bows and arrows through him... and the way he says it, like impatience is seering inside of him and he's absolutely disgusted with them.

2. Also in Pangs, when Xander lets it slip that Angel came by, and you get the shot of everyone's face at the table as they look at Buffy. Spike's face is SO CLASSIC!

3. The "This is the crack team that foils my every plan?" line.

4. When Spike busts up infront of Willow and Xander and goes on a rant about how he wants to save kittens and fight evil. But they're watching TV, so they don't care. And he goes "COMMON!"

5. On a serious note, when he's set out to kill Buffy with a rifle after she humiliates him, but he finds her sitting crying on her back steps... he just walks over and sits next to her. God... I would have fallen in love with him for that.

6. Anytime he had a scene with Joyce.

7. In Season 2 when Buffy's trying to convince her mum she's in a band with him, and her mum's like "What do you do?" and Spike goes "Well I sing"... just the way he says it.

8. When Spike is staying in Xander's basement and Xander leaves him alone and comes home to a messed apartment and all you hear is Spike "Don't turn around..." as he's in a ridiculous Hawaiian shirt and shorts. Classic.

9. As Spike's leaving Xander's basement, he's taking things with him and Xander's says something like "Hey! That's mine!" and Spike goes "What... you're shocked and disappointed? I'M EVIL!"

10. And lastly, this is kind of insignificant, but it's the only thing thats coming to mind... that look Spike gets when he's trying to figure something out, or understand something. Especially when it comes to Buffy. He kind of tilts his head and furrows his brow slightly. It's rather subtle, but it's a wonderful character trait. Proof of what a fine actor James is.
