Top Ten Television Shows other than Buffy/Angel/Firefly.

I'm going to HAVE to add Grey's Anatomy to my list. I've only just been introduced to this masterpiece, and I THINK I've found my new obsession, guys. I'm getting the DVDs as soon as possible, in fact...

You mean there's other shows out there?? Not made by Joss? *faints*

I don't watch much TV, but I'll try lol

1. Supernatural
2. Charmed (don't shoot me. As bad as the writing can be I still find it enjoyable)
3. General Hospital (my god a soap...once again don't shoot me)
4. The Simpsons
erm...I can't think of anything else *cries*

Supernatural, yay. But GH?! -_- lol
In no particular order (scripted shows only):

General Hospital
It's the great TV love of my life.

Queer as Folk
Three words: Brian Kinney... naked. Seriously, though, when I first discovered this show, it had the best production values of any show I'd ever seen. The characters captured my interest from the very first minute. I never got bored.

My So-Called Life
Especially in the earlier episodes, the characters and situations were so realistic that I couldn't look away. I love the way each episode is structured around a theme and the way each episode explores POV by repeating the same piece of dialogue in different settings and from different characters. It feels sort of like watching a sestina on the TV. Oh yeah, and Jordan was hot.

Gilmore Girls
The dialogue was to-die-for. 'Nuff said.

The Cosby Show
This one always made me laugh. Plus, I had a crush on the older brother. In the later years, I really liked to watch the cute little granddaughter.

Get Smart
I loved the shoe phone and all of the other gadgets.

Hercules, Xena, and Young Hercules
I lump these into one since they had so much crossover action and I loved the silly campiness of these shows. The hotness factor was also way up there.

Dawson's Creek
It was about young people who knew how to string together sentences. I admired that.

That 70s Show
Red, Fez, Kelso, and Jackie cracked me up.

Lonesome Dove
I don't know why I loved it; I just did. Maybe it's because it was based on the premise that my favorite character from the books didn't die. In the books, Newt's father gives him his horse instead of his name and then leaves him in charge of the ranch. Shortly thereafter, the horse kills Newt. In the show, the dad gives him his horse AND his name and Newt goes out in the world to make the name mean something. The fact that he lives makes me very happy. Also, some of my favorite lines ever come from this show.

Some of these shows, like The Cosby Show or reruns of Get Smart, I watched and adored when I was a kid. Most of these shows, however, I didn't discover until after they were in reruns or off the air completely. I really need to start watching TV that is current.

GH is the great TV love of my life as well. 20 years strong!
Wow, another GH fan on a Buffy board! Nice to know I'm not the only one lol. If only they hadn't broken up Jason and Sam *cries*

Anyway, that's like all I watch...Buffy and GH...tis sad lol

Not sad at all. I watch GH... and whichever show I have in my netflix queue. That's it. I am NEVER up-to-date on any current running show. I completely understand. GH is a big TV viewing commitment. We spend as much time per week watching that as primetime viewers spend on 5 different shows -- and there's no hiatus!

And yes, I hate the Jason/Sam breakup, too. I was okay with Jason and Sam. They weren't my favorite couple, but I liked them. Mostly, those characters' stories have seemed forced ever since the summer of sleaze. I find it weird and not at all in-character for Jason to have no remorse for being a liar (honest Jason!) and then to jump from loving Sam to threatening to kill her. This so-called love for Liz also seems kind of out of nowhere. It's like GH has been in Bizzaro land for the last two years. Jason needs to get back with Sam. So far, she's the only woman who's ever been able to handle his career.

And Liz needs to get back with Lucky -- if he'll have her. How can she look at Lucky, even with his faults, and not melt at the the thought that he's been there for her since they were kids, that he claims her one-night-stand-babies as his own, and that he's not a career criminal or even a deranged lunatic lawyer who locks pregnant women in his panic room? I mean, she, a nurse, acts as if pain pill addiction is a moral issue instead of a medical one. She also acts like the pain pill thing and the Maxie thing were the worst things in the world. The truth is that both her baby daddies are/were gangsters and that her previous hubby was said deranged lunatic. It's just weird. You'd think a cop who hit a rough patch in the line of duty would, you know, be small potatoes compared to that stuff.

I couldn't agree more. It seems as if this whole Jason/Liz thing is being shoved down our throats. And Sam's character has changed so much over the past year or so. Like the old Sam would have let Jason's baby get kidnapped. Pfft, then Jason threatened to kill her and all that. Love like that doesn't just...disapear. It has to be somewhere. I think Jason stopped loving her right away, but she loved him for a while afterwards (covering up for him in court, for instance). But their gone now...I miss my favorite couple. I don't like Sam as much as I used to, but I'm still loving Kelly Monaco's performance everyday

And what is with the killing off of all the characters? I was never a huge fan of Emily, but now I find myself missing her. They killed Alan and Emily in the same year! Are these writers nuts? Does their have to be a death every sweeps? I miss Georgie terribly 🙁 I was so hoping for her and Spinelli to finally get together, but that won't be happening now. (unless Georgie's ghost stops by for a chat...don't get me started on all these ghosts lol) And I wonder who the killer is...they're making it way to obvious to be Coop, Logan, or that weird guy from Kelly's. It's probably gonna be someone we least expect.

I'm so hoping for a better year of GH for '08

Yes -- let's hope for a better 2008 and a Georgie-back-from-the-dead and then into Spinelli's arms story!
OK,I'll check in here..

Alas,I don't watch that much TV,but here's the shows I make the effort not to miss:

1. Chuck
2. House(give me a cranky doc over the horny and/or whiny docs of "Grey's" and "Private Practice" ANY day!)
3. Bones
4. Doctor Who
5. Torchwood

All time,I'd have to nominate The Equalizer and Babylon 5 as among my faves. Oh,and go ahead and throw Airwolf and Knight Rider in there, too(to satisfy the tech junkie in me).

TV: Believe it or not,I do watch soaps when I get the chance(and do read up on them). In re your take on GH: you're right-offing characters left, right and center makes zero sense UNLESS the effects of them last over not just months, but YEARS. Why on earth the writers would want to off one of the show's young heroines(Emily),who was tied into one of the show's key families, for a death that I fear won't amount to much over the long term is beyond me. No offense, but on GH if your story is not connected to Sonny or Jason(and that is NOT a reflection on Maurice Benard or Steve Burton),good luck getting any decent amount of airtime. There are a lot of criminally underused actors on that show.

Here's some House karma, but I so don't agree with the Grey's statement, but whatevs. :)

6. Ugly Betty
7. Witch Hunter Robin (*sniffle*)
8. My Friends Tigger and Pooh (added that one for my daughter!)
9. The original ECW

I really could go on with the TV shows that have shaped my life, like She-ra or Jem or Transformers or GI Joe, the Simpsons, Futurama, ATHF, Family Guy, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (heroes in a half shell....turtle power!), Saved by the Bell, Full House, Family Matters, Seinfeld, Golden Girls, Magnum PI, the A-team, but I think I'll just stop there!
