So I've been much quieter about politics on here since the various elections last year but I think this will be of interest to people in the UK and maybe further afield since the world is swept up in the Weinstein and Spacey accusations.

There is a list of 36 Conservative MP's accused of various sex scandals and inappropriate behaviour, which can be found using the hastag in the title on Twitter. This list was compiled by the Conservative Party decision makers and used to blackmail these MP's into voting according to party instruction.

Some of the accusations on the spreadsheet are very serious, others more trivial but that's not the main story. That Conservative MP's are often vile shouldn't be a surprise to anyone in the UK unless you've been living under a rock.

The story is that these 36 MP's haven't been voting according to their own convictions or the will of their constitutions. They've been blackmailed to vote according to the wishes of a select few high ranking Conservatives. This is corruption at the highest level and is a fundamental attack on whatever democracy we're supposed to have.

It doesn't surprise me. So much power is based on blackmail. Holding career/life-ending information over someone's head is the way of the world, not only in politics but everywhere (eg Scientology in Hollywood). It's why nothing ever surfaces with all the paedophile ring links between Westminster and the Royal family. I'm betting blackmailing people with sexual assault scandals is the tip of the iceberg.

Yeah I'm not surprised at all either. All that will come of this will be a sacrificial sacking/reshuffle or whatever and then back to business as usual. It's not even being reported so plenty of people will be blissfully unaware and roll up to vote them in again next time.

Based on what we know about the Michael Fallon case I think he's very unlucky to have been sacked [or forced to resign if you'd rather😉]. And you are failing to mention that Labour politcians have been accused of sexual assault as have politcians from just about all the parties. This is a culture issue within politics as a whole.

I don't often stick up for the PM but she seems to be taking this seriously and acting in the right way.

Yes I agree and did say this in the original post. It's not a list of crimes but a blackmailing list which contains some potential criminality.

Based on what we know about the Michael Fallon case I think he's very unlucky to have been sacked [or forced to resign if you'd rather😉].

He's resigned before more comes out. He hasn't been forced to do anything. The media are desperately trying to focus on the more minor complaints to lesson the issue.

And you are failing to mention that Labour politcians have been accused of sexual assault as have politcians from just about all the parties.

I'm not failing to mention it, it's two different points. The main point of the post is to highlight the complete lack of democracy when so many people are being blackmailed for their vote.

That Labour and the other parties have problems is just a statistical certainty. A percentage of any group of people will be arseholes. Sad fact of life. You'll notice that Labour MP's have had the whip removed and been suspended when accusations or evidence has surfaced though.

By writing a letter praising Fallon, hiring one of the dubious whips to replace him and otherwise doing nothing so that she doesn't risk her wafer thin majority?

Your point about the media makes no sense. If they wanted to protect the government then why feel compelled to run any story? Surely they would just print nothing on the subject. We all know that the press are largely Right Wing but that doesn't mean they won't still go after Torie MPs if its a meaty story and they smell blood.


Yes and the government have effectively sacked their offender too so tell me the difference? No, May has spoken out very strongly against the sexist culture in Westminister. Even Harriet Herman praised her for her stance. As far as I know what Fallon has been accused of is touching a journalist on the arm years ago. Yes he was wrong to do it, but its not anywhere near the level of sexual assault. If common sense existed he would still be in a job. If he's done more that we don't know about that's a different matter.

They print a story to get the exact reaction that you're giving. The list was already out there, independent media and social media were talking about it. So ignoring it wasn't practical. That just left down playing it. Pick up a right wing rag and look for the term witch hunt, it's a coordinated effort.

May speaks out strongly about anything, that's not the same as actually doing anything. Like her big talks about making work pay while wages have been repressed for years.
