Now I don't know if I'm remembering correctly but in Touched, when Buffy is facing of with Caleb down at the vineyard and he calls her a whore, doesn't she respond by saying he should watch our or someone might think he was a woman hating dick or prick? That's the way I remember it but I just saw this ep on dvd and she says jerk. Am I right does she say dick or prick? or am I remembering incorrectly?

Yeah, originally she said prick. It was probably changed for the DVD in order to keep the age classification down on the set.

I hate it when things are f:censored:g censored!!!

😀

I knew it! that really sucks that they felt they had to change that. The line was better how it was but not much is lost.

I remember her saying prick too. But the again, I haven't seen that ep in like a year. I didn't know they changed the stuff like that. If they changed that part, I wonder if they changed any of the other dialogue.

I think it all depends on the general feeling of the show or season.

For example, if 99% of the season's episodes could be classified 12 but one episode featured a single word that would require the set to be classified 15, then that word would likely be changed so that as many people as possible could buy it.

However, if most of the season has words or events that require a 15 classification then they would most likely choose to leave things be as it would take too much alteration and messing about to lower the age rating.

When I think of this episode, I think about the speech that Spike gave Buffy when she was in the house. That is the best speech of the season, if not of the whole entire series.

I love that scene so much!
Yeah, it's prick. I liked that episode, I thought it was cool how Caleb kept missing Buffy when he was trying to kill her, it was fun!

They also edited out the scene from Dead Mans Party were one of the Zombies bursts through the window and snaps someones neck, but it is not on the DVD's, or at least mine!

Yeah, they did edit that part out on TV but in the US DVDs that part is there. I don't know why you guys don't have it. In the episode That Harvest, they also edit out the part where Buffy says "God, I am so mentally challenged," but it's still in our DVDs. I think that maybe they edit out some parts for time or because they think the parts are too inapropiate for the younger viewers.

Wait, wait, did they actually had censored this? Was it in region 1 or region 2 DVD?

I actually saw it on a Irish TV channel, but it was edited out of the DVD's which is weird!

That bit's in my DVD.

But I wish they would leave the DVD's alone, I mean I think you are right that they are edited out for children, but it does not make sense that they take them out of the DVD's especially since the DVD's are rated 15's, except for Season 3 which was rated 18's when I bought it!!

Wow, I never noticed this before. I remember being shocked and amazed at Buffy saying 'prick' before in the episode debut. But since I've watched that episode on my discs, I have never caught that. Huh.

Yeah do you really in OMWF when their singing "where do we go from here"..as spike is walking away doesn't he say "**** this"?

umm idk I've only seen the whole thing a few times..but I've seen the spuffy scenes like thousands of times so all i remember is how cute they were

Of course its Bugger this.
Its one of his Britishisms and why would Whedon put in the F Word in?
Its Bugger this on my DVD, my Video and it was Bugger This on TV not so long ago.

I taped from the television broadcast of Touched. She says "Jerk".

However that was a Canadian broadcast. We got slightly different broadcasts than the States, even though we got out broadcast about the same time. I know we got the broadcast of Showtime where it's not Sarah's voice in the mind-speak flashback scene.

It's curious they would censor that word, and not the orgy at casa Summers scene from Touched.

Huh. I coulda sworn she said "jerk" in the original US broadcast, cos I was thinking her remark sounded so tame and lame...and just not right. Like when Angel or someone says "jackass" and you know they really want to say that other word involving "ass". Sometimes it's cute though.

Maybe "jerk" just sticks in my brain cos of the utter lameness.

That's so adorable. What's the other word with "ass" in it?
