Townie, Scoobie, Slayer Stats.. Whats that??? And can you get a admin rights here in this forum?

😕

"Townie" is your status, like on Facebook, you can change it by editing your profile.
I would have thought someone joining a BTVS fansite would know what "Scooby" related to, but if not it's explained here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scooby_Gang_(Buffy_the_Vampire_Slayer)

Your slayer stats is information about you, like your "vital status", for example, from your Slayer Stats I can see you joined in October 2011, you're from Germany, you're 21, you've made 38 (at present) posts, you've not referred anyone, you use the default "skin", or layout/design and you're male.

You can be made an Admin, but I'm not entirely sure how. I'd wait until you've made quite a larger contribution to BB before thinking about that.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask, but read the FAQ first and post it in "Angel Investigations", not "Check In".

Have a nice day!

*Vital statistics, not status, sorry.

you've made 38 (at present) posts

Counted posts that is. Posts in game thread and in a dorm once/if you get sorted won't be counted since it would be an "easy" way for someone to get a high post count if they wanted to. Quality posts are more important than getting a high number.

Sorry but after using BB for a while I wondered about some other things.

Fist what are the green boxes und Gender for? Is it to see for others how many posts you made?? And sorry I can't find the edit file to change Townie... Please help me...

You should go to the Bad Eggs forum and get "adopted" so you have someone that you can ask questions to directly that will explain everything to you.

The green boxes are reputation. See the FAQ for more information on reputation and how to edit your profile.

This is actually the place to ask for help - please don't tell people to go pm someone instead.

If by "charts" you mean tables there really isn't that functionality, but here is a list of the bb codes which you can use to make a bulleted list:

I guess I don't understand the purpose of being adopted then. I thought it was to help someone learn their way around the boards when they were having a lot of trouble. But, I won't suggest that anymore. Sorry. :(

It is to have someone to ask questions of, but that doesn't mean people can't post in the help forum. Just because someone has a lot of questions, it doesn't mean they can't ask them in the help forum, and telling a newbie they have to get adopted in order to get answers is not very polite.

Good to know. Didn't know it wasn't polite to suggest utilizing one of the forums features, but you're the boss 🙂

Give me a break.

Suggesting a person get adopted is one thing, answering their question by telling them to go get adopted, rather than actually helping them, makes a new person feel like they can't ask for help. Your second post was really belittling to someone just asking for help, and it was unnecessary as you'd already posted previously suggesting they get adopted.

Maybe instead of arguing with me about it, just try to be a little more patient with a new person next time.

You Know how it feels ;D
I didn't think I was belittling anyone. I asked what he meant by charts, since I couldn't help as I didn't know what he was talking about. And then honestly thought that being adopted by someone who had been around longer would be helpful. As this has gotten terribly off topic, I'll just leave it since I already apologized as sincerely as I can and don't understand why it was so bad in the first place but promise that I really won't do it again.

All I said was that the help forum was the right place for people to post questions. NO ONE was yelling at you, and YOU were the one who felt the need to comment on it, when no comment was needed. There's no reason to start an argument over this. FFS.

Ripper666 agrees: You Know how it feels ;D

The point isn't how YOU specifically feel, the point is that EVERYONE should feel they can post a question if they have one without being made to feel stupid for asking it. Hence why I asked people to not tell people to go pm someone rather than post.
