TPTB evil or just lazy

Okay I've been hearing people say a lot of things about these so called saints so I guess it's time to put all the cards on the table. Do you think TPTB are evil or flat out lazy I mean I get it I don't expect them to act all the time you know always fixing ours problems because what would be the point of living if you never experienced the pain, sorrow and lost sometimes it takes these things to mold us into the people we are but come on. Their main ways of communicating is the visions, the oracles, and their conduit. Yes the first two have helped AI considerably but lets be honest they really do nothing to help otherwise maybe they dont care as Jasmine said but then again she was a little out there. When I say they don't really care that much I mean I think they think their better than us look at the way the conduit and the oracles treated angel and he was a champion and there's cordy with all the things they know I think they could have did a better job protecting her. So what do you guys think.

Sometimes I get the impression they're more concerned about demon influence, the bigger picture, and they have their own set of rules implying something larger setting those rules.

What I don't get is people insisting on their influence in Buffy's world, because I don't see them there.

Yeah you know I always wondered why they weren't at least mentioned on buffy you know so that it would seem they didn't only focus on L.A. Alot of people say that they weren't mention on buffy because that's angel's whole thing yet many of buffy's own things were incorporated into angel.

The way I saw it, as regards to the PTB never being on Buffy, was that they had already intervened in Buffy's life- by making her the Slayer. The rest was up to her. She was the guardian of the Hellmouth and technically worked for the Watcher's Council whereas Angel was, in a similar way, working for the PTB in that he was technically their champion.

As for why they never got more involved than they did and they always seemed to presume they were better than anyone else N4H touched on the answer I was gonna give- that they look at the big picture. They would, I presume, heavily believe in the motto/phrase 'Sacrifice one for the good of the many'. They aren't....restricted by human feelings which in their view allows them to be unbiased in their wordly decisions. If helping Cordelia would have meant so much intervention it would have messed up something else, they would deem Cordy a worthy sacrifice since they don't care about her in the way Angel etc do. It's kinda like that Bible quote 'My ways, are not your ways'.

Well, the PTB were around in Sunnydale, even if it was just watching over Angel in Amends. I also think that Buffy didn't need them like Angel did. She was give a very defined job: guard the hellmouth. Well, not guard the hellmouth, but guard the people on the hellmouth. Once she was there (which I think was a PTB influenced decision on Joyce's part, although it could have been the Watcher's Council) she never needed their assistance or intervention.

Angel, on the other hand, had a much less defined goal. He was a Champion from the start, and he was slipping. I think the PTB were just interested in giving him a fight until the Apocalypse. He needed to stay good, so they sent the visions.

And yes, they were all about the Big Picture. The only people that got any kind of special treatment were Champions: i.e. Angel. The others were treated exactly the same as any other person. It seems cold, but look what happened when a Higher Power got involved: Jasmine and the First just caused trouble. So, yes they were distant, but not lazy, and certainly not evil.
