Tru Calling may have been picked up for a second season. FOX has yet to confirm but an interview article on the Budweiser site has mentioned that the show has been renewed.

I just read on another board that that is false information 🙁 I was all excited that its gonna get another season but then someone confirmed that it was false🙁
 
Yes the Budweiser site is wrong. There will be no decision made on TC's second season until after the eps with Jason Priestley air.

when do those episodes air, and what exactly is his role? How could it be so important that they think he'll give the show better ratings?

hmm... maybe the show should have cast some better known people when it started... but hey, i guess everyone has to get their start somewhere, right?
 
It's pretty early yet for them to be making decisions on season 2 with the ratings so bad. They're waiting to see if the ratings improve.

There are some other threads on Jason if you want info on him.
 
I was just going to post a thread about this because I heard on another site, the reson they are showing jason's eps in march is because the season was being extended. But i guess thats false now...

It hasn't been, at least not officially. Budweister's confused about Tru Calling getting 7 additional episodes. That's not a 2nd season, just a longer first season.
 
I'm still crossing my fingers in hope that the ratings will increase soonly. 😉

It kind of amazes me though that Fox is resting the fate of Tru Calling upon Jason Priestley. Its brings the question to mind-Is FOX trying to target the 90210 audience-hoping to use JP's character hype from the early 90's to boost TC's ratings? I mean cool, great idea and all but TC is a totally diff kind of show bordering the sci fi state of mind-while 90210 not so much with the Sci Fi.

I don't think they are resting the fate of the show on JP - they are just waiting until more episodes air (which happen to contain JP) until they make a decision. It's not JP in and of himself 🙂

I think a season 2 confirmation would really calm my nerves. If not, then we might get that Faith spin off...

A Faith Spin-Off would be great, but I don't really think that this will ever come true, so we better hope that Tru Calling gets picked up for another season.
