Tru Calling Music videos

I had some free time and I wanted to find a way to make more publicity for the show. So I decided to start to learn how to make music videos and I really getting addicted to it.

In a couple of days, I made 3 videos already. You can find them here.

I would really appriciate if you would give me comments about them to improve my next videos. I'm just a beginner, so there are probably still lot's of mistakes of creating the clips more fluently.

Firstly, my apologies if I seem too critical, but you did ask for advice. 😉

The videos were very nice for a beginner. However, there's a few things to concentrate on. When you're making a video, especially one on something like an entire episode of Tru Calling, you're trying to tell a story. When you're telling a story, you want it to be interesting. For a video to be interesting, it has to grasp your attention. To do this, you have to make sure the music goes with what's on the screen. You can't just cut long drawn out parts of the show and put them together with background music. I noticed you included many untouched long dialogue scenes. These need to be edited down A LOT. Its quite boring to watch that. The scenes need to transition into each other with the music. You really have to have a feel for it to make a video. Envision in your head what you want your video to look like while you listen to the music. One thing I noticed in your videos that I liked and you need to do more of is in the My Immortal video. When Nick is carrying the boy down the hall and the loud guitar part in the music comes on. That goes together well. Things such as explosions and gunshots can cap off loud parts in the music. It helps the flow of the movie, and really adds to the overall presentation. Also, for things such as slow songs (My Immortal), lots of fades work very well. It looks nice, but also make sure its with the music. Overall though I'm impressed with what you've done so far, and I'm hoping you'll stick with it for future videos. 😀
 
What do you mean? Do you how did I uploaded the videos to my webspace? If so, I just used smartftp.
 
oh, is just that i want to upload videos but my ftps doesnt upload them, i tried a couple of ftp but nothing, i guess ill try that one, thanx anyway
 
kind of off topic. i have some vids i'd like to show. i know they are all buffy/angel ones but i'd like to show them. ( i will be making a faith one soon) wols anyone be interested in seeing them?
 
ok i downloaded your clips and i agree with everything fred says however. i have seen nothing but the pilot so anything is great for me to watch and my immortal was a powerful clip as i havn'e seen it. it looks great and i want to see more. you have done well.
 
well talking about Music videos... Tru Calling's theme song has a video now and it's going to premiere on Tru Calling sometime soon
 
Great vidz, I don't get tired of watching them.. although too much talkin but they still good..

hey...i love the vids....though i have no constructive comments because i don't know much about making vodeos myself...i still loved them...are ya workin on anymore?
 
I am at work so I will have to check out your videos at home because I can't download anything that isn't work related 🙁

but I will definately check it out the next time I am online at home 😎

but I am sure I will like them because I love Evanescence 😀

I am not an expert on videos so I probably won't have any advice to give as well but I think Fred gave you lots of great advice already : rotate :

so I am looking forward to being able to watch the videos and I hope you make more because although I haven't seen them yet from what I have heard they are good and people all want you to make more 😛

I didn't get to see all of it my stupid fox station ran an ad for Forever Eden over part of it 🙁
