Tru vs. Jack

Okay, I know the writers are pushing us to root for Tru, and I may be alienating the entire community with this one, but...

Is Tru really right in saving all those people?

What about the people that are hurt because of what Tru does to save the corpse who asked for her help?

Did they deserve to pay the price for someone else's defeat of death?
 
I don't think Tru feels like she has a choice. She has this power, and people ask for her help...how would she feel about herself if she didn't at least try to help them? Even if she understood the consequences, I think it is the lesser of two evils on her conscience if she helps the people and deals with the repercussions later.

There's just a lot we don't know (and Tru doesn't know) yet. Maybe there's a Final Destination thing going on and the people die a week later anyway - we don't get that follow up. We know Jack's version of the story, but we don't know whether he is being honest or trying to mislead Tru for his own purposes. I think Tru is doing the right thing based on what she knows right now. The exciting part is that we get to figure out how this whole thing works at the same time she does, and there are liable to be some surprises or changes in attitude and point of view as we go along. Obviously Jack doesn't agree with what Tru is doing, but his motivations are rather fuzzy right now. Maybe I'll speculate on that side of things later 🙂
 
I voted yes because there has to be some reason that these people are asking her for help. At this point, she doesn't have any concrete reason not to save them if she can and we don't really have a clear picture of the consequences. I dunno whether what she's doing is wrong in an "absolute" sense, but I suppose it could be. Based on what I do know, Tru feels like she is doing the right thing and I have to agree. I think there's more going on and it's not as simple as she first though, but I still think she's doing what is right for her (maybe Jack is too).

I'm going to re-make this thread because aparently in the move the poll (which was the only part even touched by someone other than elec and me) got closed. It'll be under the same name--Please make your voices heard!
