Tru vs. Jack

I've been watching Tru Calling hoping for something interesting to happen and now towards the end of the first season we finally see some action.
Personally I think I'm on Tru's side, not because the writers prefer her, but because I prefer her appraoch to life. When Jack sees life as a tale that's already written and that he just have to make sure that those things happen, Tru fight the plan and in her world there is no ready made history. History is what you make of it and there is no such thing as a destiny.
There's no such thing as opposing powers. They're just humans with a twist representing different philosophical appraoches to life and I'm in the Tru setion.
