True Blood *Possible Spoilers*

Lots of people think the credits are too gory, I disagree though, I don't find them gory at all, and love em actually.

In the books vampires biting humans during sex is common and is considered pleasant for both. I mean, it's sex with a vampire, how can biting be taking it too far?
 
well personally I am completely drawn in...yes its cheesy, but many people would say the same thing about my favorite among favorite shows of all time BUFFY!

The Credits are a little out of my comfort zone but so is some of the provoctaviness...especially with Mr. Jason! But the plot is in my opinion quite interesting. Vampires mainstreaming with humans...the cast of characters are complex. overall I give the show a B+ rating.

Oh and the first episode is available to rent all ready... I saw it at blockbuster the other day.
 
I am so excited that we now know what is going on with Sam. Totally not what I thought. Additionally, how crazy is the stuff happening to Bill right now. I am worried........cannot wait for next Sunday.

Yeah, crazy stuff. So Bill turned the young Christian girl. Does she go with him for awhile now, so he can train her as a vampire? You wouldn't think Sookie would be too happy about that, if she does.

Isn't it sweet the way Sookie chatters on with her customers about her boyfriend the vampire, like he was just the boy next door, and there was nothing more to it than that. And they all look at her like "Huh?". And even though she can read minds, she doesn't get how nutty she sounds. I smile, and like her more. She's sweetly flawed.
 
I just love the fact that good old sweet Bill doesnt have a soul yet he's a sweet as angel. And that sookie and him can experieance the act of love without him turning into a hellish creature...of course though the bad Vamps want him to be bad...I wonder what turning the Christian girl will do to him....will it make him bad like the other vamps???
 
I just saw the first ep the other day (thanks Vicariously!) and really liked it. Especially cos Vinnie is in it (Jason), gotta love the Home and Away stars making it 'big'! LOL I have seen up to episode 3 now and would love to see the rest when I get round to it. I had a good laugh.

I think that turning that girl will be very hard on Bill. I also think per the previews that Sookia and Sam are gonna be bad together and that is gonna be bad for Bill. I am so sad there are only 2 episodes left. It has been so long since I really like a new show I do not know what I am going to do having to wait for the next season 🙁 And also, who was that guy chasing Sookie in Merlotts. Seriously!!! I want to know who the killer is?!?!?!
 
And who was that girl Tara almost ran over? The one who was wandering around, looking like she was stoned, on the deserted road.

She's a character from book 2, she plays a major part in the plot of the second book.

I know right. And she appeared to be all naked but it looked like there was something standing next to her also. What was that about. Also, what was the deal with the fake exorcism. I was soooooo pissed. Oh my god, it needs to be Sunday already and additionally, yes, if you have not see this show you need to immediately!!!

yeah so the second link is much better...So HBO renewed the contract for a second season...YAY but its not gonna air in the summer so we will have to wait all winter 🙁 booo to that... two episodeds left and I bet they are gonna end it with a huge cliffhanger just as the end every episode!
 
Next winter?! I cannot wait. OMG I totally forgot how much I hate waiting for new episodes to air. It has been such a long time since I have been in this position and I dont like it one bit. Maybe the air dates will change?

nope thats how shows run on cable networks like HBO... we've been waiting for new episodes of Big Love to air for what really sees like a year now!
So I'm all caught up now and I have to say Bill and Sookie still are not doing it for me AT ALL. I just could care less for them as a couple, and maybe even for Bill in general, he's just not likable to be, he wigs me out. But now that we know what we know about Sam and he's not the killer like I was thinking he was, I'm TOTALLY rooting for him to get Sookie, THAT'S a couple I think I could ship.
 
I was reading the True Blood forum at the link in Buffy Summers signature. Apparently that new character Eric, who owns the bar, turns out to be the vamp everybody wants to see Sookie get with. A lot of them have read the books, that's why, I think.

I could maybe see that, at least he seems more interesting than Bill.
I just started watching the series this weekend (I've made it through one--ONE, ah-ah-ah--whole episode). Anna Panquin is interesting; I think she captures Sookie pretty well. I'm not sure about the guy who plays Bill. He's not at ALL the way I pictured Bill in my head while reading. The photography choices are interesting, but I think they mostly capture the idea of how Sookie's feeling pretty well.

I'm working my way through S2 of Supernatural right now, but I plan to intersperse it with episodes of True Blood. We'll see how it goes.

The thing with vampires not having a soul/having a soul is mainly just a Slayerverse thing, isn't it? I recall no discussions in the Sookie Stackhouse books that vampires are by their nature evil and soulless, so as far as we know, Bill *does* have a soul, and so does every other vampire.
 
I finally got to watch all of the pilot episode and the beginnig of the second one and I must say, it's a rather amazing story and I like Bill and Sookie. They are amazing and they are so hawt together. Ups, I said hawt. Well, who cares, it's true. I'm looking forward to see the rest of the season and this vampire thing is quite interesting. It's got definetly a different approach to anything else regarding vampires. Oh and I like the naughtiness of the show. Makes it basically interesting, as not everything in life is like a Catholic mass, so why should the show be the same way? Perhaps a weird metaphor...

I heard from a friend that the books are very different to the TV adaptions? Is that true? I don't want any details, but I was thinking of reading the books too.

I as well have high hopes for this show. Been a while since a good vampire show was on television (hehe). From what I hear, it's about vampires in Suburbia? Makes for interesting stuff. From what I understand, these vamps also, traditionally, don't drink human blood - some synthetic thing called True Blood is what they live on...

BTW, I just saw a great vampire film a couple days ago. It's called "Let the right one in" and its a swedish film. Very good. Yet, not for the faint at heart, I warn you...it's quite disturbing.
