True Blood Season 5 Trailer

Yeah I would say season 4 is their weakest season, but I still look forward to more. Has anyone read the books...I'm curious on how much they compare to the show. I've heard about Lafayette and some differences in Jason's storyline, but was wondering if the main storylines are basically the same.
 
Season 4 was done much better when that storyline was in the books. The Eric/Sookie relationship is much more intense in the books than it is in the show. Oh and the whole Bill as King thing never happened in the books. He isn't really in the books much now.

Bill has never been my favourite in the show, but despite season 4 being quite week I like what they did with him. They had to find a way to give him a bigger role on the TV show as there was no way they would let him fade away, quite like how they thankfully didn't kill off Lafayette.

I wasn't overly keen on how they handled the Coven in the show either, but Fiona Shaw was supreme was Marnie and don't even get me started on how they ruined a good thing by killing off the Fae. Some changes they have made for the better, some, not so much.

Season 5 looks promising. I may have been reading too much 'A Song of Ice & Fire' of late because I can't seem to recall what storyline they may be following. I do hope they don't go down the whole Quinn route as it just makes Sookie look like some two bit ho that goes with any Supe!

While the books are about as well written as the Twilight series they are worth a read to see how things compare.
 
I've got so much to catch up on books I want to read, but I've been thinking about adding these to the list as well!

Could not agree more. I'm interested to see if they do introduce Quinn, but I really didn't like him in the books. I'm not sure why, he just bugged the crap out of me. Maybe I just felt he was in the way of Sookie/Eric 😉

And I agree that some changes to the books have been for the better, like not killing Lafayette and introducing Jessica etc, but some not so much.

I really don't like Bill in the books and I don't particularly like him in the show either, but I did like his story line in season 4, and I love his relationship with Jessica 🙂 I just hate him and Sookie together, although I have a feeling that in the end, they will end up together.

I really hope they don't end up together in the books, especially since in the 3rd book, he didn't just drink from her and almost kill her like he did in the show,
but he actually raped her
. I know that he wasn't in his right mind, and blah blah blah. But, I think that, that would really be sending the wrong message.

I'm interested to see what is going to happen with Tara this season. If she is going to come back as a vampire or a ghost or something. And if she is a vamp, who is going to turn her? I've heard some people say maybe Pam or Russell? She is definately a character that is vastly different to the one in the books.

I'm looking forward to the next book. While they aren't really well written or anything, I find them really entertaining. They are a total guilty pleasure of mine 🙂
