True Happiness(Adult Content)

Lol thanks ana8
That is an interesting question...Did they use protection? Hmmm...

I think its pretty safe to say that they did not use protection, Angel wouldnt carry it and neither would buffy, they kissed and it went further.

Yea true. I mean Angel didn't plan on doing it with anyone. So why would he carry them? And Buffy...She's kinda wonky and she isn't the type to carry them in her back pocket while saving the world from blood sucking bad guys!

We shouldn't be discussing this this deep into whether or not they carried... Angel is a vamp and Marti Noxon clearly stated in "Bad Eggs" that he couldn't have little vampires, so that's the end of that. They kissed. Stuff happened.

Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking there. I was up a little too late and season one got all jumbled together there. 😛

Whats always confused me about the curse is the gypies gave him a soul so he was tormented forever. Fine. It also meant that he would probably never find perfect happiness again. Fine. But why, when he did find perfect happiness was he reverted to Angelus, surely they wouldn't want that. And surely they wouldn't be so narrow minded to think he might never find perfect happiness.

Well look at the time it took place(Angel getting his curse) and the gyspies were just bent on getting their revenge, they thought since he was a monster and vampire he wouldnt find true love, and it took him about 100 years after getting the curse just to find that one moment.

I think that the trigger is intimacy with Buffy.

Yes, he had sex with Darla, but considering that it was just a wham-bam, and he didn't really love her, so of course he did not lose his soul. It was not a moment of happiness.

Now, with Buffy, because he did love her, and he changed a short time after they had engaged in intercourse, I think it is obvious what the trigger is. Because honestly, if it was not sex with Buffy, but just perfect happiness with Buffy, we would have had Angelus throughout all of season 1, 2 and three. The soul would've been gone probably after their first kiss.

So... there's my point of view. The thinking that he was most likely having after being with her was like Lazy Dolphin said earlier, and then that's when he lost it. Because you don't think about anything during intimate contact, only after, right? I'd have to say so.

I think they did that because, as Angel, he feels so much guilt and responsibility for all the horible things that Angelus did. One of his worst nightmares is becoming Angelus and killing more people... even true happiness isn't worth all that bad mojo stuff. Ahh... He's so selfless.

WOW. I can't believe this is the first time I've viewed this thread... I feel like I need to weigh in on all the topics.

condoms: I think it's irelevant.

moment he loses his soul: I think it's part of the whole act, the true intimacy and tenderness in it. I think that, even though he loved her, if it had been a quick wham, bam, thankyou maam, it wouldn't have had the same effect.

STDs: The consensus seems to be that if he had gotten something before he was turned, he would be carrying that... Well, he was whoring around a ton before he got turned. Liam is NOT Angel. Remember when Angel said that a vampire has something to do with your human personality (Doppelgangland)? Well, Liam was a little like Angelus, but Angel is a much better, changed and thoughtful person that either of them.

it wont happen with buffy, but since nina is in the picture again, he was chatting to wes about it, wonder if angel will do anything with nina.

I hope he gives her syphalis!

Hmm, sorry about that, I seem to be developing terrets syndrome. Although I find myself liking Spuffy, I understand that it is the only acceptable alternative to Bangel. (I realize I sound deeply narrow minded).

However, this does bring us to another exciting debate; Do you think Angel would be able to experience true happiness with anyone other than Buffy? What about Cordelia?

I don't think so, Buffy is supposed to be his "One true love", that's not something you get over, or move on from.

All the off topic posts have been deleted from this thread!

Angel's moment of true happiness was when all he thought about was Buffy, when his mind was free of all the awful things that he'd done. I think the Gypsies thought that that day would never happen. So they wouldn't have even considered it as a loop whole. To them Angel didn't exsist, Angelus was the one they were punishing and they probably only thought of it in them terms. And to them no living person could ever fall in love with that monster. This would suggest that the Gypsies were ignorant though.

Another way to look at it would be that the loop whole was another form of punishment. This time to punish the person that Angelus had become. They wanted him to suffer, and Angel was getting to the point were he wasn't suffering anymore. So maybe the curse, instead of being broken, was just wearing off. The Gypsies wouldn't be that bothered because their punishment wasn't working anymore. And what better way to make the punishment last a couple minutes longer by letting Angel realise the inevitablility of him returning to the thing he hates the most..Angelus.

i think it the fact that he was in love and sex with buffy was kinda like the final acceptance of that by letting him into her bed that kinda means that she has acepted him as a whole person giving her body as well as her soul to him. becusae there has always been doubts before hand. and ok so now sex and love dont really go hand in hand. but for angel/liam ok so a drunken lout in human life but he still knows that sex comes with love. and that she loves him as much as he loves her and that was what gave him his perfect happyness

well thats what i think anyway

Didn't Angel become Angelus temporarily in a season 1 ep when that TV woman who wanted to get vamped gave him ecstasy or whatever drug? - I can't remember the exact details. Point being that it doesn't need to be romantic or sexual happiness but just happiness that causes the transformation (or magic, as in season 4).
Sorry, I've only just noticed this thread and having just re-read what I wrote, I think I may be off-topic already 🙂
