So... the BIG question... assuming we're ever actually given a small ray of sunshine, and Angel gets with Cordy. CAN they have sex? Does being with Cordy constitute pure happiness? or was that only with Buffy? We know that "sex" is not a measure of the happiness, since he had it with Darla... (though being a vamp, we can't be sure, and it WAS prophesized)

Can Cordy and Angel be together without him getting all bumpy?
 
I so want to see them together! Whatever happens. Remember that beautiful scene when they were both lying on his bed feeding Connor a bottle! I thought back then that it would happen.
 
He loves her, she loves him, so if they make love he would receive his moment of true happiness!

However this doesn't nescesairly mean they can't become a couple, they just can't have sex. And somehow I feel like cordy won't mind that much!
 
i actually do not want to see them together even though i just voted that they could be together cos true happiness is only with Buffy. But then i don't want to see Buffy with anyone but Angel so..l.I'm a die hard buffy angel fan.

I think they could be a couple but it isn't the kind of romantic love that Buffy and Angel had. Cordy and Angel have a respectful, greatful, safe love. Idon't think Cordy would mind the lack of sex and I don't think that the tension in that department would get too high. But I don't think those kind of relationships work on screen. people want sexual tension.
 
I thought the whole catch-22 with Buffy was that she was his one-and-only, be all and end all, transcending time and space, once in all the universe, true love.

ie. She's the only one he can't 'rock the casbah' with 😉
 
They are in love. So if Angel gets down with Cordy he will lose his soul. Still doesn't mean they can't be together. I don't think Cordy would mind.
 
Me neither. As Cordy said "I know somehow it's all gonna be alright." ... even without sex, they'll be a great couple!
 
he was with darla for over 200 years,and he had sex with her in series 2,yet he still had his soul,so it was only with buffy,as he loved only her.
 
No, he didn't love only her, he didn't lose his soul with Darla, because he didn't love her, he loves Cordy however, so having sex with her, will trigger the curse!
 
The thing of One and Only true love is a myth. I think that love based on respect and friendship is much much stronger than love based on fire and passion....so I'm a bigger fan of Angel/Cordy than Angel/Buffy. So, I think the curse would apply to Cordy and Angel, but I expect them to get around it somehow.
 
<APPLAUSE> Your totally right "the One"doesn't excist, even the show's creator (Joss) knows it! And sure AI could find some way around the curse, but do they really need to have sex, to have a good relationship? I think but Angel and Cordy could do without!
 
Of course, I've also thought that Perfect Happiness could be achieved in ways that have nothing to do with sex. Is the message there you can't be happy unless you have sex? Eh...not a discussion I'm prepared to have, anyway.

But the thought did occur to me, maybe it was perfect happiness with Buffy not only because they loved each other, but because she was the Slayer. Somehow, her love and acceptence made him feel redeemed for past sins. The Slayer loved the vampire, in spite of everything that he did. After all, Angelus did say that Buffy made him feel human.

Every relationship is different, and has different dynamics. It doesn't mean that one is love and one isn't, they're just different. So maybe Angel's relationship with Cordy can be wonderful, but still in such a way that he doesn't feel 100% completely human and redeemed. Cordy's not the Slayer, so Cordy isn't the symbol of Judgement for Angel. So they can love each other totally and completely, but Angel will still have this place of darkness and remorse that can't be touched by Cordelia.

OK, I know I'm just blowing hot air, but it's a thought!

no i meant before he fell in love with cordy,buffy was the only girl he'd loved.If you remember him saying in the episode where buffy had the Aspect of the Demon,angel said something like "In all my life,i've only loved one girl" so up until he fell in love with cordy,he loved only buffy,and that was before he had sex with darla in series 2 of angel (obviously since angel wasn't even made then)

Yeah, I gotta say I forgot about this...I haven't been watch Angel all that long, so I don't really understand the PTB, or where Cordy was, or anything yet....
 
Niether do I, there has been no explanation has been given yet, about Cordy's ascention. But the powers that be, are some kind of gods!
 
Do people really believe that? That there's such thing as the ONE? That people don't move on and find love elsewhere?? I mean, I know I'm obnoxiously pro willow/oz, but even I recognize that in reality they have moved on. And even in a story I wrote, Willow loved Tara.
 
Well you're right, even though I loved Willow/Tara I'll face the facts it's over ... to all those who think B/A is ment to be ... THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "THE ONE"! ... even the writers don't believe in phenomanens like "ment-to-be" and "the One"!
 
Yeah, but you gotta remember that the great thing about this show is we all see and love different things. You like w/t, I adore w/o. Neither of us is wrong, we're just different. Some people love B/A, and thought that relationship was incredible.

The nice thing about fiction is it's fiction, and even though we acknowledge some things would never happen in real life, we get to pretend they happen in our show. I have no problem with people thinking that Angel only loved Buffy if that's the fantasy that gives them warm fuzzies (I find it a little depressing, but hey...)

The interesting thing about the writers not believing in "the One" is that I think that SMG kinda does....On the FX web page, there's a clip of SMG talking about how she doesn't think she could ever really accept Buffy loving someone else.

So, see? Different opinions are allowed.
