Probably Hush, Doppelgangland and maybe Halloween. Like, really good stand alone eps that don't give away much of the plot of the season.

Agreed with Hush. You could then use the "it was nominated for an emmy" hook! Stand alone episodes are good but I think people really get hooked on a show when they start understanding the continuing storylines....you just have to be willing to watch at least a few in a row!!
