I had some information that I wanted to share with teenage girls that have not started their periods by...like...sixteen. I went to the doctors when I was seventeen, because I hadn't started my periods. They ran loads of blood tests, and it turned out that I have Turner's Syndrome.
I don't know if anyone here has heard of it. Turner's syndrome is a syndrome that only affects females, and it means that you have either a whole chromosome, or part of a chromosome missing. Turner's girls are usually VERY short, and cannot have natural periods. They sometimes have a natural period though. In extreme cases, Turner's girls can have heart problems, and they can have webbed necks when they are born, and turned in feet. They are also very caring towards others, and strangely have beautiful eyes. They can also be very anxious.
If you have any of these symptoms or characteristics, I would suggest seeing a doctor. In most cases it isn't serious. But it needs to be diagnosed. I have to take pills to help me have a period, and luckily that is the only symptom of the syndrome I have. If Turner's was a cake, I just have a very small slice of the cake. I am also caring and people tell me I have lovely eyes though.
