Okay, so I've watched the commentry [sp] for Chosen, and I know that Joss wanted to make the episode about sharing power and what not, rather than about defeating the Turok-Han, but in, Show Time, I think it was in, they said that the Turok Han can't be killed by a stake, and it was practically impossible to kill them, so, what was the point in making 'em so hard to kill if in the last episode they dust with a stake like regular vamps...?

Anya explains alot in "Storytime" I think it is, They can be killed by stakes, they just have a really hard chest to get them through. That was my understanding anyway. Plus they were all training etc to kill the turok-han so couldnt be more prepared for that particular demon.

Yeah, like Aussie said, Anya explained that the Turok Han can be killed by stakes they just have the uber strong chest so it's like trying to punch wood through solid steel. Needless to say, this panicked the then strengthless potentials

Maybe the stake Buffy used the first time was just too small to kill an ubervamp.

And it's not like they were all fighting them easily in the finale, lots of Slayers died or got badly injured, and most ubervamps were probably killed by this ax-thingy they had

it's called the scythe lol. but from now on i shall refer to it as the ax-thingy because i love that name!
Okay, thanks, I haven't watched Storyteller in a while, so I didn't remember that. But it makes, slightly, more sense now 😛

It was also theorized in an earlier thread that the first Turok Han, the one who couldn't be staked and seemed so nearly invincible was a sort of "uber" Turok Han, the greatest champion of the race, which was why he/it was summoned first. If it had been able to kill the Slayer before she was able to mount any sort of effective defense, with Spike off in la-la land and Faith safely locked away in prison, Sunnydale, and the rest of the world, would be without a Champion.

yeah, i dont even think the first assumed it would definitely NEED the rest of the turok-han because it was so bent on having the first one kill them, because it was this "champion" of sorts. I dont think that the ones that followed were necessarily a piece of cake either. I mean, slayers got killed, and its not every day a slayer gets killed by a regular vamp so obviously they were still more powerful.

Not to mention that once the Slayers got down into the hellmouth, they were outnumbered several HUNDRED to one!
Well, yeah, that's also a point I never thought of...plus, actually, thinking it over, most of 'em died from the scythe, from being pushed over the edge, or when Sunnydale got destroyed.
