TV shows that were cancelled too soon

What, in your opinion, are examples of TV shows that were cancelled too soon and should have carried on.

Couple of examples spring to my mind:

Firefly (of course!)
Pushing Daisies (I thought it was brilliant and apparently so did the Emmy's, but it still got cancelled!)
Almost Human

and a couple of UK examples (I'm not sure if anyone outside the UK knows of these, but they were fab!)
The Fades (Won a BAFTA after it was axed and that still didn't help bring it back)
In The Flesh
 
Dollhouse. At least Firefly got a movie.

Angel (Thanks Joss, your ultimatum cost the fans a 6th season...)
Farscape needed one more season to completely wrap-up the series.
Journeyman (the time-travel overall plot was interesting and unique)
Lie To Me (I just like Tim Roth)
Tru Calling (just when S2 was getting interesting)

Yes! Farscape and Angel definitely!
Tru Calling-it ended with a cliffhanger.
Dollhouse-It was supposed to be 5 seasons.
Agent Carter (and AOS just keeps on going...).
Dark Angel-it had potential and that ending didn't make sense.

Or good on you Joss for sticking to your guns and showing guts and not sucking up to the suits in my book😉 And besides you still got an awesome finale and the comics.

That is such crap. Joss got arrogant with the execs and demanded a decision right there and then, so they said no. Other producers have stated that if Joss had done what he had done every single time before, they would've had another season. He didn't 'stand up' to anyone.
Joss isn't perfect y'know, sometimes he screws up. 😉

Yeah, because as I understand for pretty much every season they had been threatening to can the show so he decided that enough was enough and called their bluff on it. What's wrong with that?

Dont know about angel, but I liked him not bending over and not agreeing fox to blackmail him to edit firefly inserting a banal zoe and mal romance. I read it cost him the second season of firefly, but it wouldn't be the same anyways, so...

The execs at WB never 'threatened' anybody, they just said that the numbers weren't in yet- or words to that effect- by that pont in the season. They were always slow to renew. They'd done the same thing previously but now Joss decided to get pissy.
And what's wrong with it? The 'calling their bluff' failed and cost people jobs.
Remember how petty Joss can be when other people let personal feelings get in the way of his work? Well, apparently its okay when he does it.

That is not accurate. They never threatened to can the show. They based the survival - every season - on ratings (the same way Buffy was). To which Whedon did not want to wait for and demanded an answer.

Well, never thought I'd say this but- in the case I'm glad we didn't get a season season.

I'll say
Dollhouse and Joan of Arcadia (I can barely remember the show now truth be told, but I know I was disappointed when it ended, once upon a time)

But didn't Buffy take a good three or four seasons to start drawing decent ratings? In which case it wasn't based on ratings or at least not all based on ratings. And besides there are more important things than ratings when it comes to culture and art. What you have to remember too is that when writing a television show like Angel is that Joss and the others on his team will be thinking quite far into the future, so I think that has something to do with him wanting an answer early.

It NEVER had good ratings. It benefited from being on a new network that needed all the shows it could get. Once the network got established they complained about the dropping ratings and were going to cancel it. That's when it switched to another network.

Yeah, I hardly remember it now but I was very fond of it when it was on.
