TV Writer's Salary

TV writers, producers, executives, and assistants have been anonymously sharing their salaries in a widely circulated Google spreadsheet this week as part of an effort to help people working in the entertainment industry achieve pay parity.

The spreadsheet is broken down by type of job (staff writer versus assistant versus executive), with columns for position or title, studio, network, amount of experience, and whether a person identifies as a man or a woman, or a person of color.

No specific shows are mentioned, but it's interesting to look at nonetheless. Here is the link for the spreadsheet.

And no doubt a crew working on a TV show with high ratings would get the same wage as the crew working for an also ran TV show.

Was that spread sheet a waste of time for the con merchants who wrote it, doubt it.

Faar out! There are some massive numbers there!! I only had a brief look, but the lowest I could find was $500 a week and the highest, was like, way too many numbers. Being paid $1000 an hour seems like a pretty good gig. What is the reason they want to collect this data? It looks like they are all getting a good wage out of this industry. If only I had those smartz.
