Has anyone read any of the books in the series? I finished the third in the series (Eclipse) and I loved it. I haven't read the first two (its a boring story why). So, anyone?

I've read the first two times, and plan on reading the second this month... I was so dazed when I first read Twilight, it was so great!

I've read all three and loved them. i actually came to the Buffy boards today with the express intention of writing a post about these books so imagine my surprise when you beat me to the punch Kryptonite! So i'll just add what i was going to say here...

I’ve just finished reading Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer. For those who don’t know, they are books that follow the love story of Bella, a schoolgirl and Edward, a vampire. The books are quite romantic and Edward is to die for. If you enjoy the romance aspects of Buffy then you’d enjoy these books. But that is not the point of the post…You see while I was reading the books I found it is very difficult to avoid comparisons with the Buffy and Angel romance – well, obviously they both involve school-girl/vampire combinations but more than that, both romances are swift to develop, passionate, emotional and are all-absorbing for those involved. I was never one to feel enduring fascination with the Buffy and Angel romance - It was nice but I didn’t bemoan its eventual demise. I freely admit I became much more invested in Spike and Buffy’s relationship. I could never understand why some people clung to Buffy and Angel like it was sacred or something, but now, I think I do. Sort of.

Firstly, I was totally captivated by Bella and Edward’s romance. And secondly, there is a character called Jacob. Jacob is a werewolf and he and Bella develop a close friendship. Now there is nothing particularly objectionable about Jacob – he’s a bit rough round the edges, a bit cocky but basically likeable… but, as I was reading I found I was getting, at first annoyed and then really angry at his intrusion into Bella and Edwards relationship. Then I began to feel like a hypocrite because I’ve been quite vocal about my dislike of stereotypical romances – yet here I was salivating for more of this one and NOT tolerating any intrusion what-so-ever. Then I realised that perhaps this is how die hard Bangles feel about Buffy and Angel and the intrusion of others (most notably Spike) into their sanctity of their love. Don’t get me wrong – I’m certainly not ready to give up my cherished membership of the ‘spuffy lovers fan club’ just yet, but I do feel like I understand my Bangel sisters and brothers a little bit better. Has anyone else read these books? Do you know what I’m talking about?

Hello! Look at my signature! I'm a Twilight Series fiend! 🙂

I love these books. I can read them over and over again and not get tired with them. And I've already told my husband that I love Edward, and he's okay with that! 🙂

And Jacob better keep his filthy paws off Bella!

*gasp*

No! I totally LOVE Jacob. I mean, I like Bella and Edward together...but its just so - perfect. There's no --- um --- grr, I dont know what the word is that I'm looking for. I think Bella and Edward should be together, I just like the tension that Jacob adds to the relationship. Plus, I imagine he's quite attractive; tall, dark, & handsome. 😀

ok - my love for the series has naturally spilled into my fanart. I posted some sigs in my AD gallery here.
